Olumighty123: I don't know what your screeder is trying to do but I know L n B is used in measuring SqM, For example, if the room is 4 metres wide, and 6 metres long, 4 x 6 = 24 square metres, that's all. Thank you so much Sir cos my head almost exploded... |

FEGEITOK: Do you really want to ask someone to give up his secret sauce?
In this job, there are fathers, husbands, young men, students, etc. There is no standard charge for screeding. Some charge based on the name and reputation they have built over the years. Others charge because of the enormity of responsiblity they carry. Others charge because they would rather do something legit than beg or steal. Others want to make it big before tomorrow.
Because the motivations are so different, the pricing you get will vary considerably.
If you need someone that travels anywhere and everywhere and does not charge exhorbitantly. I can recommend someone. He is an undergraduate with a drive to better his lot in life. I like his work ethic. He finds time between his classes to travel all over Nigeria to do screeding so he can self-sponsor his education.
This is assuming that you found it difficult to arrive at a compromise with Bolu.1986 whose work I love and highly recommend.
Maybe I will start with your approval by passing on these parameters so we can get his costing for the above. Bolu1986 cost is way cheaper than here but like I always said, the distance and its not a big project that I feel will be worth the whole stress... |

bolu1986: thank you sir for the mention
is not even about revealing trade secrete.. a lot of artisian out there dont do their work with passion!
i am presently working in the east, and some clients are taking the advantage of that to commit us to their smaller projects.
if you dont trust an artisan in the first place i think you shouldnt engage them.. rather look for someone you are comfortable with..
the truth is getting a good artisan around benin up the way down to the eastern side is a bit difficult. When are you coming to Benin? Let me take advantage of it and start planning for my kobokobo project ☺️☺️☺️ |

Formula for calculating square meters: length x width = m2
Your artisan said: m2 x height = m3?
where m = meters Yes, m2 × height |

Anyway do what’s comfortable for you but be sure they will do a good job!!!
Sometimes when you are tying to be too wise the In experience worker might decide to do a bad job for you.
My cent Its not easy looking for professional artisans (cos they all claim to be professionals)... I always look at distance...would have loved to patronize some artisans here (seen the quality of their work) but I don't think I should be selfish or penny foolish...and It's not a big project for me (it is kobo kobo project) to be dragging people all the way from other state down to Benin, I have done it twice and it wasn't favorable to I and the artisans.. |

hamtabfawaz: Good Morning, am sorry just seeing this.
In my humble opinion, I think the light points is too much, instead of 3watts, you can settle for 6watts and reduce the lights points to a total of 10 or even less, 6watts are actually brighter, in the course of maintenance perhaps in a few years, when some spotlights would need to be changed, while some electrician can perfectly change it without tampering with pop, some can't. have had to cover some holes made on pop by an electrician after he changed the damaged spotlights for a client, which attracts an extra charge fee. (the more holes, the charge). Another consideration is if you're using prepaid, it's too much. But in the End, it's just your decision on how you want it. Thanks Sir for the response...I went with 3watts and some 6watts for the rooms |

bolu1986: Look for good paint like Gloval…
Plastering normally determines the number of materials sometime.. if you plastering is not smooth you will spend more on materials to achieve smooth surface… so I can’t really know the actual quantity they will be needed! You can liase with your screeder I know you won't be perfect with telling the amount of materials since you've not physically seen the building and done measurements...I just want an estimate to guide me through and the best mixture so I can guide them to avoid getting cracks and peels... |

redgem: Please I want to start making budget for screeding... Initially didn't want to screed the exterior walls but changed my mind (for more painting options)..
Exterior walls 39ft by 49ft long (there's balcony at the front and back of the building). Parlour = 42sqm (didn't subtract the doors and windows, same with the rooms) Room 1= 15sqm Room 2= 12.26sqm Room 3= 13.27sqm Lobby 1= 3.93sqm Lobby 2= 2.92sqm
I plan on buying materials myself cos it's hard to find a trustworthy artisan here who won't want to rip one off...
I want to use black cement screeding just like one bolu1986 did (don't know if he can please assist me with the mix ratio), without him saying he used black cement, you won't know it was actually Portland cement he used...
The guy that did my pop said black cement screeding isn't good for interior cos it causes heat...please how true is this? So many confusion with black cement and normal cement screeding 🤧🤧🤧
Please skimmer guys here can you assist me with the list and amount of materials I should buy that would be enough to screed the entire build 🙏🙏🙏
Quote from my pop guy 25 buckets of Screeding paint 2 20kg top bond 15 water seal 3 bags of black cement I need assistance here please.... |

FEGEITOK: There is absolutely nothing wrong in buying cheap.
If there are 2 of the same, why spend more to get the exact same thing?
Anyone saying you should is preaching a gospel that he or she does not practice.
Then again there is a place for differentiation. If you can differentiate yourself, you can charge anything and someone will pay. However, it also means you are targeting a different set of clients.
In my days of selling enterprise software, I would reach out to distributors outside Nigeria because those ones just wanted turnover versus Nigerian distributors who wanted to make a big kill on each and every single deal, and it was good for my profits.
There is nothing like financial prudence and discipline.
The problem is being ordinary and charging an arm and a leg, potential clients are going to have issue with that. 💯 💯 💯 |

topsy23: You can use 3W as against 6W. Also wall light is becoming old except you have passion for it. People prefer ceiling fitting and the chandelier in the sitting room. You can as well compliment it with strip light .. Yep, there's room for strip lights...going with 1.5 but if I don't get to find it, will go with 3watts |
