twinskenny: These days people don’t do walk bracket any longer To me it’s a waste of space and energy.
I believe there is rope lights, center light then pop lights.. that’s enough
If you get original pop lights you don’t need that much light honestly. The funny thing is, I saw your post earlier about not adding wall brackets and I told this human being oh....he still insisted on piping for wall brackets.... I will block some of the wall brackets during screeding, will insist I am not getting fittings for them and want them closed.... Please, how many watts are those? |

FEGEITOK: All the best. I got these results from my YouTube history. When I wanted to do magic with lighting in my place
Lighting is both a science and an art.
Sadly here we only set up lighting for the purpose of lighting and not for setting mood and ambiance or for tasks.
So you need to learn a bit more to explore the range of what is possible with lighting design For future purposes, I will definitely learn more about it.. Thanks so much.... |

FEGEITOK: Then you should be using 1.5 x 42 = 63 watts going by the extract of the article I posted above So why then is he insisting I use 6watts spotlight? |

kopell: Wow, madam. Do you consider the cost of generator, inverter KVA that will run total consumption of your energy per day, even PHCN? Please leave these discussions for professionals, they have the knowledge and standards they use to determine how a size of room should be bright. No vex ooo, how many bulbs do you intend to use for the entire building? Let even try little math of energy consumption. Let say you have generators of 15 KVa running on 3liters per hour at the rate of diesel 250x 3 = 750 per hour x 8 hours daily = 6k per day. This is not 24 hours. My opinion sha ooo. This just on conservative estimates I left it to a professional and he gave me so much lights... 3watts and 6watts which saves energy? |

hamtabfawaz: ● The damage should be properly assesed from inside the Pop ceiling through the man hole. If the Fillas that was used to hold the ^area of damage^ is broken, the damaged area should be slightly cut out and replaced with another fillas (if extent of damage is large, a casted board should be used too) to strengthen that area again, and a final dressing on the outside, if the fillas on the inside is not affected, then Dressing/screeding (Topbond & screeding paint involved) would do. He fell from the inside.. I have contacted my pop guy, he said he will go and check it out to know the extent of the damage and see what will be done... Thanks so much for your assistance... |

spyder880: Nooooo
I paid 70k to dig a well since 2016, bought submersible pump with 45k, paid well diggers for plastering, bought cement, sand and well cover, paid for pipes and plumbing, altogether, about N200,000. Then I haven't spent any other money on the maintenance of the well since 2016 that I moved into the house.
Since then I haven't spent a dime on the well, but I get steady water supply pumped up my overhead tank for 7 months out of 12 months in a year. I only buy water from January till March each year when the well dried up. Enugu water is not costly. Oh... I understand now... Lol... |
Properties › Re: The Posh 6 Flats Of 3 Bedrooms Block Of Flats In Enugu, The Construction Process by redgem(f): 6:01pm On Mar 12, 2023 |
spyder880: Not necessarily, I spent only about 200k or less to have steady water from my shallow 40 foot well, clean water for 7 months in every year. That's the one most people use in Enugu. When you see people doing this deep manual type, then it must be for a residential house. I have also seen single families do this deep type in my neighborhood. Meaning you pay 200k for water every 7 months...like they pump into a well for you? Or how is it done? |

spyder880: For a motorised drilling rig, you may spend up to 6 to 7 million naira, but you are not guaranteed to get good water, apart from Ninth mile, and a few pockets of lands around Enugu Urban, especially around streams and lakes, you may never strike good water for all your efforts.
For the manual borehole which I am currently doing, the average cost is N2 million naira. We are doing this for N1.9m, I got quotes for as high as 2.4m from other people who do this same work.
Thanks. Wow....one really need to be wealthy to be able to afford water in Enugu... |

spyder880: Enugu has a very deep water table, the depth one has to dig to get water is too deep. We can get good ground water after doing 90 feet in Awka, 70 feet in Owerri or Aba, 70 feet in PH, but Enugu may take up to 800 feet before you get that type of water. To add to the problem, Enugu has a lot of lump stones and hard ground, clay and shale mixtures that makes digging with a mounted drill a nightmare.
Many people who can afford to spend good money to do the type of borehole we usually do in Owerri has not succeeded in doing so in Enugu, because the chances of getting good water after drling to such depth is very low. That's why we have resorted to this type, we expect to get to 150 feet depth, then cast the well with concrete before installing a submersible pump and connecting same to the tanks.
Happy Sunday everyone. Happy Sunday to you too Sir... So, what is the estimated cost of digging a borehole in Enugu |

Electrician didn't add 4mm wires but I've seen posts listing 4mm (I want to know what 4mm wires are used for so I can insist he uses it...). And please, help review the quantity of wires...

The lack of right tools for DIY and trade in Nigeria is shocking. Everything na hammer and nail. Sorry for the late response.... Wasn't thinking of that but thanks for giving me a nice business idea... I will look into it.. |

FEGEITOK: There is another issue. I spent heavily on tools.
One of my tools got bad. It was dropped by the artisan I hired.
He dropped my nail gun.
Which I had earlier reviewed here.
The tool is so rare that I have to go online to get another.
So you need to 1. take pictures and even 2. videos of the tool working before the handover. Rinse and repeat when the tool is returned.
This is where I failed and got burnt.
How do you identify the artisan? I recommend a government-issued valid ID card, but you need to verify the information before you hand it over.
You will also need a caution fee.
This is a very common practice in the US.
They hire tools for sums way below the cost of purchasing them. however no one is going to play a fast one on the companies who hire out the tools in the US unlike what might happen here.
I spent a fortune repairing the tool, but the housing was so destroyed and since it is a power tool, I need to buy another one for parts and then replace the housing because it just won't work properly with the housing glued together. Sorry for the late response...and sorry for your bad experience.. You made valid points and it's going to be hard for me to achieve cos I am not with them in the site and putting it in the hands of someone else won't achieve same result cos that is Nigeria for you "people do not value what does not belong to them"... It will be really hard |
