This issue of visitor's toilet I remember I was angry at the engineer for changing the initial plan of the toilet being inside cos it was a norm for me....but now I'm happy with what he did.. Some said it wasn't secure for the door of the toilet to be outside though but I'm glad he was so stubborn to not listen..

My dad's house the visitor's toilet is in the anteroom and I remember the smell that comes out when used my bomb producing visitors... it wasn't funny though

Thank you. That's exactly what I'm trying to explain to this installer, but the guy no wan hear word. His problem is that he can't even calculate the area of the roof (his calculation was even far less than the actual area of the roof), so he's using the total square meter bought to calculate his fee.

I have shown him the area as calculated from the architectural design (and the roof was done exactly as designed), and explained to him that 25% was added to account for waste, but this guy still insists I pay for his ignorance

Do they charge per sqm for roofing or they just give their price?

What crime did he commit exactly? Why are you angry? So, he should sit back and watch them rip off the client when he can actually do a better job and save the client some funds for other projects. I am scared of people like you!

Why was this thread created in the first place? To help both artisans and clients, making things easy for both parties....so why attack him? What exactly was his crime?

Buying the materials is the best option, the already made is covered you don't know the board that's been used. There is possibility of it been compromised.

Secondly I noticed that the remaining two rooms are not ensuite, even though I was told that all the rooms are ensuite.
Please I am currently far away from the location of the project.

2 rooms are definitely not en-suite... What I feel he can do is to change the position of the bathroom doors, take them inside the rooms...change the entrance position of room 2

We have had this discussion in this thread several times... We concluded that it depends on the kind of doors to be used..

Hdf doors are okay, if it's pure hdf, if the door has not been compromised by using mdf instead hdf.

I then had to take them down for tiling.

Then I had to resize them before reinstallation after tiling.

Quite a process, quite a learning process as well.

Except for external doors, your internal doors should never be flush with the floor

That will ensure your doors be there HDF or MDF never have to deal with floor water ( except for a flood, which is an extraordinary event)

I had to resize my doors after the installation of a concrete floor and tiling, so that is the background of the above research

As far as I am concerned, so long as you keep water away you will be fine.

The other issue is the quality of the finishing, over which you have zero control. That is in the hands of whoever you hired.

Good morning everyone... Please I have a question, how durable are hdf doors? They are beautiful and all but how long do they last? I have seen damaged hdf doors in hotel rooms though but I felt its improper management....


Please if you are using hdf doors, what are your takes on them?

Have you paid for materials from quarry and didn't get the supply... the most common issues is (wrong material seizes) which might be a mix up from the order placed either from the buyer or supplier sending in the order to scale.

Most independent truckers move at night between 7 pm to 5 am (swift movement) so you might pay in the morning and get it at your site at late midnight.

My first Nairaland customer is a popular actor ,he might still be using this platform, when he messaged and told he needs supply at reduced prices from what he was currently getting, I gave him quote with 10k difference...he just told me,we would work...one day he called and ask if I can supply on Sunday night /splash Monday morning (before 7 workers will start work)for his decking I said yes.....if we can finish arrangements now sir.
He asked why he has to pay before I supply,I explained because the Chinese won't let the trucks leave the quarry if I don't pay for the material loaded..

I sent the following doc:
A selfie
NIN slip

Then he sent in the full payment, delivery was done successful according to his plan and I handle all the supply for lounge he built....till today we are pals...
My deal with the said customer was transacted before my business got registered so......what is yours will be yours!
Don't kill your business because customer doesn't trust or believe in you.
Most of my sales last year came from here...

As a buyer ask for the following documents and don't stress people:

1.Cac certificate (search the name and find out the address) pay to see the board of directors etc

2.NIN slip ( confirm the legal name of the seller and bank account to be paid to if it's not a business account)

3.selfie or passport or video call

Work smart and allow people work smart too.....

You all arguing no pay on delivery blablabla, you think buyers are not at the receiving end too? Buyer's don't get scammed?..

I paid for 2 trips of sharp sand since August/September...was to use it for plastering but he told my engineer that his truck got spoilt and he needed to fix it.. We had to pay for another supplier to supply us cos my plaster guy was already around and he came all the way from Abuja.. I decided to use it for tiles that was why I didn't ask for refund.. After constant calling for a month, he stopped picking calls and up till date, he hasn't delivered them... Calls he doesn't pick and when he picks, he promises to deliver them... My engineer has been trying to track him but he seems to be hiding.



What do you expect me to do?
