He is correct, you have to introduce new columns calculatively ( each of the columns should have column base with steel reinforcement) for the purpose of transferring the load to the ground, it cannot just be on the wall, it's columns that suspends it.

Please how many columns will be needed and can you tell the estimated cost? Its 39ft by 49ft building

I am now considering doing parapet which was not my intention earlier... engineer says its now late except if I want to go through extra expenses cos I will have to break some blocks, put pillars to hold it etc...what do you think?

A family friend told me about the different qualities and to be sure I am getting the quality woods...cos carpenters may take the price of the solid wood and then buy inferior woods for me.. Will be going to the site tomorrow with the carpenter he suggested
