Benin things are expensive, talking from experience... They feel everyone in Benin is doing yahoo...they make too much yanga. Just find someone from outside Benin, either in Lagos, Port Harcourt or within Edo state(villages) if possible..

Lol let me tell you one major difference between a financially prudent Naija woman and a Naija man - we treat #1 like it is #1000 and we handle #10m like it is #1b. There is no small money, all na big moni! We watch over every kobo and treat money like we worked for it. Even scammers know such women are not worth the trouble, e get why!

I will share a secret - when it comes to marriage, aim for a financially prudent woman because that is easily, at least half of your financial worries solved. If you are a premium man yourself, you can even find (yes o, better ting na task) one with looks. These women are willing to partner with you in planning and building financial security if you are a worthy partner. I am not saying they are cheap and won’t spend money o, don’t misquote me. I’m just saying that if you treat them right, you will enjoy what it means to go to sleep every night without trust issues about money. You will have peace of mind that your wife is working with you and not against you.

In Warri, they hardly deliver to site or door. They deliver to a dedicated warehouse in town and you go there to collect your goods incurring further transport cost to site or to your door.

I paid 55k for water tank scaffold and window and Veranda burglary proofs from Ketu Lagos to Mowe-Ofada Ogun State.
I knew he won't be going any other places except my location.

How I wish nairaland has voice note option, it would have been easier for me to narrate the event.. Spoken words are easier understood than written words.

I wasn't told it was going to be shared, I was told that the driver will start going to Benin by 6 and will get to my site before 10 but cos it will be late, we agreed 6am the next day (I even suggested to pay for their hotel), my cousin suggested he should follow them to be on the safe side..

That was how I got to know that the driver went to load someone else's materials (I was even lied to that it was just small materials and they'd just drop the goods at the tollgate), but instead they had it delivered first before going to my site (spent hours loading for few materials and went to deliver at the person's site).

My cousin narrated everything to me and suggested that I should request for shared cost cos that's not how it is done...If I was told earlier, he would have looked for someone to transport it down to me and won't spend that much money.

What I am hearing is annoying and I don't want to have issues with anyone.. Its an experience though. Next time, I will know what to say or ask when ordering for goods online.. Imagine transporting goods from Lagos to Benin and you are collecting 170k (that's greed) you can't even consider to share the cost between both customers, you think of just yourself and your pocket. Nigerians we are our own problem! Everyone is looking for money but that doesn't mean, we should not have conscience and lose ourselves on the way to wealth.

I thought about this some more. If you did not directly hire the vehicle but just paid for shipping your goods then you don't have to worry about what else is loaded. It's what's fair. I can see a situation where they'll save you on shipping of they can negotiate with another load going the same way. It's how I can pay just N3K on goods costing hundreds of thousands from Lagos to Ibadan.

Nope, I did not directly hire the vehicle.. The vendor did and I paid for the shipping.. The agreement was to get it delivered to me this morning, I didn't think or know that it was going to be shared..

Is the transportation inter-state? If yes, it is usually not only your goods unless your goods occupies the whole vehicle.

If it is inter-city, it is usually your goods only unless by special arrangements.

So for example, if you go to New Benin market to buy materials to transport to GRA, it should be your materials only.

If you go to Lagos to buy materials to transport to Edo State, it is usually not only your materials. You will share the vehicle with others to bring down cost.

But you can decree that just you alone and pay. This would be very expensive.

From Lagos to Benin, I paid 85k to transport it down to Benin.

Bozac deals mostly with coils...I think they have some corrugators they work with....try their numbers below and see....otherwise there are many other companies available nationwide you can walk in and buy your own sheets if you have a cuttinglist or roof design..Asaba aluminium a subsidiary of Tower would have been your best bet but they closed Benin office not sure they have new address...Try Agen maybe pricy..
Best aluminium or first Aluminum....excellent quality but pricy...

Don't do 0.45mm guage steptiles or metcoppo corrugation to avoid leaking issues. That's the headache Kolashangone is referring to.
Just go for longspan jejely if it's going to be 0.45mm. Most aluminum gauges are no more what they used to be.
You are doing well in your project, weldone.

I don't really fancy longspan, I have seen buildings with it... When I love it, is when it is used on very high roofs. I knew nothing about the leaking and all and my engineer advised I should go with metcoppo before we started the project.
