These days to travel by road you need to be properly kitted against the unexpected.

Jungle boots, jeans and long sleeves for those arduous nights in the forest...not flip flops, shorts and flimsy t-shirts. And this particularly applies to ladies. Just don't don anything that will warrant additional attention.

This is where we have arrived at in a country we claim is working.

What Nigerians need are details from those offering alternative leadership and we will choose how to move forward.

There is nothing like one way out of any matter on earth.

I don't think the breaks in the barrier are for U-Turns. If true .. then that will cause traffic jams. I strongly believe the gaps are for in case o( emergency. If there's an accident and the lane blocked .. then cars can get through the gap and use the outer lane on oncoming traffic until they get around the accident. Just imagine a van making a u turn on the bridge
The issue is why are things done on such an adhoc basis without pre thought and planning.
When did they discover that a narrow bridge is vulnerable to choke points.

If there is not carefully thinking before acting what other mistakes are they making that have other consequences.

Have they studied that bridge properly in the first place. Have they looked at the original design and understood the design parameters properly...

Just like the coastal road. Was a proper EIA done? Now some residents are complaining about intense flooding and they are blaming global warming infrastructure is supposed to address, not excuse.

I hope they don't blame nature if anything happens to that bridge due to that concrete load in the median. Nothing stops them from taking a month or two or three to redesign. The Minister as a professional should know this.

If you yourself drive a car, why did you not answer which mirror it is? Whether it is the left mirror or the right mirror? But alaye, dodged it.
It can be any mirror, the left or right, on any type of road, single, double or triple lane roadway, in any country where there is left or right side drive.

That is not the issue and not the question. The question is the mirror position.
Car Talk › Re: Only Experienced Drivers Will Get This Right. Which Mirror Is Correct? (Photo) by Reference(m): 1:36am On Oct 08
C is near correct, not absolutely.
It replicates the electronic devices on modern mirrors that monitors proximity.

A driver needs to be able to see and guage distance and speed, that is proximity of on coming or surrounding vehicles.

So you need a reference, that is your vehicle in the same picture as others so that you understand clearly the situation.

In some high end vehicles these mirrors move with the steering so that you can observe on coming traffic particularly if entering or exiting angular ramps Abuja roads are notorious for.

The misuse of government property goes unabated. What is the difference between this and those who vandalized public infrastructure.

What is a maritime recon aircraft doing in Abuja. What is a military aircraft doing ferrying civilians like some air taxi

And when you dig deeper you will probably find out that the haste to return the aircraft to the air prematurely was to cover for the unofficial mission and to satisfy the VIP's on board.

'Anyhowness' permeates every facet of our society. The indiscipline of the ruling class is just tragic.

Russia and China how come Russia is Europe and China Asia, and so close like that?
Russia is an incredibly wide country that is practically continent sized. It straddles both Europe and Asia.

If the time is 6am in Kaliningrad (the western most place) the time will be 4 pm in the easternmost part (Kamchatka). Same country, 11 time zones.

If you took off in a very fast jet like the defunct Concorde from Kamchatka headed for Moscow at 6am you will likely arrive Moscow at 1 am in the night of the same day. You will have to wait for five hours to see the same 6 am you left earlier..... extraordinary isn't it. Classic time travel.

It is people that don't travel but sit in the comfort of their homes and offices that are uninformed or rabidly callous that won't be emotional at the situation in Nigeria.

And you don't have to travel outside. Once a while visit the rural areas and see crass poverty walking about on two legs.

When one removes the self centered scales on ones eyes to see the dehumanizing things people do and go through to survive, one is bound, bound to come to a place of profound sadness at the state of this country.

Romance › Re: Men, Don't Marry Wahala Because She's Fine by Reference(m): 5:44am On Oct 07
Babatunjo:
This one plenty men learn late.

She's very fine.

Educated.

Good job.

Good family.

Maybe even virgin.

Everything looks correct on paper.

But every small disagreement becomes war. She can't take correction. No respect for boundaries. Always creating drama. Everything must go her way.

And because she's desirable, you start telling yourself:

"Nobody is perfect."

"Maybe marriage will settle her."

My brother, shine your eye. 😂

Pretty doesn't cancel difficult character. Education doesn't cancel it. Money doesn't cancel it. Virginity doesn't cancel it.

People can change, yes. But don't marry somebody based on the change you're hoping will happen later.

And that ex you still remember because she was very fine?

If being with her was constantly draining your peace, stop romanticising what you lost.

Sometimes you didn't lose a baddie. You escaped a problem with fine packaging. 😂

Same applies to women choosing men too.

Choose character with your eyes open.

For those already married and dealing with serious issues, different matter entirely. Work on what can be worked on and get proper help where necessary.

But if you're still choosing?

Don't knowingly marry wahala and start praying for peace afterwards.
Hmmm '....But don't marry somebody based on the change you are hoping will happen later...'

I think the average Nigerian has been schooled in this over the recent years by the political class.

That 'hope' is not a strategy to getting anything done. It either inherently works or is made, fabricated to work.

That is the reality of any kind of relationship, be it personal between spouses, business between partners or political between leaders and the led.

In your view is this team showing any consistency?
Even Benin republic is playing Argentina in a friendly today in Buenos Aires. Today.
Why can't NFF get the Super Eagles a quality team that can really stretch them. Playing draw with a team Like Russia will only lower our ranking ( in the eye of football lovers). If we had played draw with a team like France or England. I would have seen progress. But outcast team like Russia?
This Russia team is not even in the kind of form they should be in.

Had it been they were not kicked out of world football and had been playing Cup qualifiers and Nations league matches against the best in Europe and quality friendlies against top national soccer teams from around the world instead of knock offs from the Middle East and Africa, they will have been in better form against us today.

I won't use this match as any sort of yardstick to gauge the team, however what I appreciate are the new discoveries and the boldness they displayed particularly the chap between the sticks.

They looked eager to impress and I hope they have the fight in their bellies to take on the old guard for starting shirts. Best of luck to them.

As for the gaffer....to me the jury is still out.

Are those playing for super eagles worth playing for Nigeria? I can only count 3- 4 players.

The rest got zero hunger . That useless super eagles need to be disbanded.
The man Chelle is just not motivating them to perform. The body language on the field is just not good enough.

He maybe thinking, 'oh, these players are professional, they will follow my dressing room plans', but I am afraid the mentality to do that for 90 minutes is just not in this current crop of players.

The last match they played see how one of the only two performers that day, Bassey had to berate his fellow player at some point. That was not a good sign. That is the gaffers responsibility. But it appears Chelle is not up to it.

Fine, the pitch was bad. But in an important contest it is up to the gaffer to drag his team over such hurdles, motivate them to perform despite the challenges.

Rubyjade:
I don't think being vocal on the touchline should be the yardstick for judging a coach. There are plenty of successful coaches who are relatively calm and quiet during matches but still have a very strong tactical influence on their teams.

Carlo Ancelotti is a good example. He is famously composed on the touchline, yet he has won the Champions League multiple times. Pep Guardiola can also be very animated at times, but his success isn't because of how much he shouts during matches. José Mourinho, on the other hand, is very vocal and expressive — yet different coaching styles can achieve the same objective.

Even Didier Deschamps is generally more measured than some of his assistants and has won the World Cup and Nations League with France.

The important thing is whether the coach's instructions are reaching the players, whether the team is tactically organised, and whether he can make the right adjustments during the game. If his assistant is more vocal while he focuses on reading the game and making decisions, that's not necessarily a weakness.

Football isn't a shouting competition. Results, tactical organisation, player management and in-game adjustments matter more than who is making the most noise on the touchline.
All the examples you make are for setups that are a world of difference from our situation.

Can you compare the quality of players these coaches you mentioned work with....

Can you compare the organisation of the teams for competitions by the respective clubs and FA's....

You have to be hands on, forceful and deliberate if you want results. Just like Clemens Westerhof was because it is clear that this team like most Nigerians teams have deep psychological challenges of not able to focus fo 90 minutes. The moment they score or the moment they concede the team falls apart.

This has been a recurring theme for ages if you have not noticed and it is clear they need serious in-play communication to keep them focused.

Focus, focus, focus. That is the key to the success of Spanish soccer you hear everywhere from coaches to commentators of the Spanish game talking about. They maintain communication for every second of the 90 minutes.

Football is not a grave yard game. It is a contest of constant assessment, adjustment and action.

The modern game depends on quick response to tactical changes. If you wait till halftime to communicate that, you will not win most games these days.

You talk about Ancelotti. Well I talk about someone like Pep. Despite his extraordinary training sessions, in play he communicates every minute of every game to ensure his teams play his set up to win. And that is for teams with the highest quality players.

Russia's 2nd goal is a clear indication that we lack quality technical input. Even a layman could easily tell that the left side of our defense was being repeatedly exploited. Yet, the bench did nothing, till they conceded. It's not the keeper. It's the Technical Crew.
Quite agree.
The gaffer maybe a good board room analyst, perhaps a good training ground technician. But on the field of in-play he is not doing enough in my opinion.

Even Mr. Carlo 'Cool' Ancelotti throws his toys about once a while when his players loose their way.

That wasn’t the goal keeper’s fault. They had it coming.
That is what I am saying.

This is where coaching comes into play.

From outside you see the pressure, you see the overloads, you can count the metres your defence line has shifted back, you can see that your strikers are now in your own half...

So you scream your head off to get your players reorganized and pushing out because you know a goal is coming.

But our Chelle will just stand there pointing like Pilate until the damage is done then he will ask for a bowl and water to wash his hands off the problem.
