Wow....this is not good...at all. At least he appears cognitive. So did he approve of this. |
Angelfrost:More like completely collapsed. Yesterday I called it crashed and burnt....club and country... everything is a heap of rubble. Folks should be at the National Assembly protesting this tragedy. Football used to be the only national asset for pride, joy and hope. Nothing else came close. Now even that has been taken away. We need serious soul searching in this country. |
wiseone28:So we should join an association of failures. Good. |
Never seen a set of players so poor technically. Cannot shoot, cannot cross, cannot even clear loose balls....what is happening....is this deliberate sabotage or what....who offended them... |
mycar:They all look psychologically gone....that is, nothing in their soul to make anything of this match. |
We need a national rebirth in all aspects of life in this country. No one can pretend that things are well in Nigeria. A deep soul searching to find where we missed it as a nation and retrace our steps. This sorry state of affairs is affecting everything.... everything. |
dequir:Bottom of their group and being shellacked at home by Gambia at the 70th minute. |
At least we can take heart in our jollof brothers from another mother. Joined hip to hip in footy misery.. |
Well, there goes the Nations Cup. It has never been this bad. Our football is tanking and will soon crash and burn up. What a country. Decline everywhere you look. Misruled in everything under the sun. |
Arostar2023:Don't mind them. In their minds government is there to award contracts and collect kickbacks, buy expensive cars and enjoy themselves. The best an individual citizen can do under the law concerns his private space. It is an offence for him to cross his boundary and interfere in his neighbor's. But where a citizen cannot go, a government can, what a citizen cannot ensure and implement, a government can, what a citizen cannot afford, a government can, why? Because society comes together to appoint a government to care for the collective. We give them power to do, all our money to do, and our obedience and fealty. That is why they should be blamed if they cannot ORGANISE us the society around decent values and reasonable standards of living. If my neighbor decides to transform himself into a pig and his house into a pig sty, the Constitution does not permit me to do anything as a citizen. I have to use the government to intervene. That is as simple as ABC, grade 4 stuff. |
That is what I have been saying. Coastal states including Lagos and its Islands and Peninsula don't have a viable, habitable, long term future. Due to climate change the oceans are creeping up, the marshlands are being overwhelmed and the rivers feeding them are slowing their discharge meaning more water is being retained in land than otherwise will. So it is not a matter of drainage infrastructure in these places. Gravity drains and canals just wouldn't work anymore at some point in the future. . The only options for cities like Port Harcourt and Lagos will be the highly expensive fix of building massive Louisiana type levies, surge barriers and buy stormwater pumps the size of small refineries to clean up. But are we ready, are we preparing, are we thinking about these things. |
I Kalashnikov49: ....this Macron babysit is something else....hahahaha.... |
FSBoperator:Oga, the Sahel and the Sahara desert is cyclical natural phenomena called the Milankovich cycle. It will return tropical in another 10,000 years as it was before. Has nothing to do with firewood. Be informed. |
esnbrutality:Chai....na our President you caricature like dis.... You are a very rude, bad boy.... ![]() |
CONTRACTORS..CONTRACTORS..CONTRACTORS.. the bane of Nigeria's economy. I just wonder of any of those warships or vessels the US is using in it's war in the middle east is rented.... The military has been in the creeks for a decade and a half and by our inability to solve problems are bogged down there for the forseeable future, yet they still require contractors to provide accommodation and logistics. It has not occured to anyone that they should get their own gear, their own equipment to save cost in a mission that has no end in sight....a whole military. I can bet that the cost of renting/hiring over these years will be able to provide these equipment several times over. But it does not surprise anyone. Nigeria is a Contractors paradise, a rent seeking economy according to SLS. And the operators must be fed to keep them 'loyal'. Reminds me of the NNPC GMD in the OBJ era.,...what was his name again. That resided in a Hilton penthouse for months on end while his people were searching for suitable accomodation..... That is the story of Nigeria, a business state, where the summary of everything and national anthem is, 'money must be made'...so unfortunate. |
At least we know where the the biggest problems are domiciled. They used to say, '16 wasted years of the PDP'. I wonder what they will call this period by 2031. Hopefully Nigerians will have woken up to the fact that this alphabet soup has caused them running stool. And all they need to do is visit the John to flush them all out. |
pongus:Best idea so far. And water filled. So it offers both flexibility and utility. |
How many times will I say this.... When an economy tanks, HSE goes out the window. This is the consequential adjustment the government has asked you to make. A sandblasting of your dignity, while they wine and dine and 'share' your sweat. The Republican party juggernaut in the States is heading for the midterm icebergs. The American will send a clear message that they don't tolerate games with their wallets. Our own elections come a few weeks later. Can we respond likewise so that those who cause this misery can rethink and sit up. No, of course not. We are African. We embrace suffering unlimited out of feudal respect. Afterall it is their turn to plunder and we will vote them in again and again. Our dignity doesn't matter. |
Jakpon:Yes, and they will be going on this perilous journey long after your beloved government has come to pass because they have not changed anything for good. Not surprised. The mantra has always been, 'it is my turn'. No one asked the simple question, 'turn to do what'. The reality is now clear at democratic halftime. Turn to maintain the status quo of misrule. 3 and a half years down the drain. |
PheelzAlmighty:Absolutely. They rather flee than fight their oppressors, the feudal overlords they worship. The white man on the other hand stands to fight his own problems and conquers them thus he cannot understand how folks that struggled for independence two generations ago have lost that mojo and are rather begging to be enslaved....again. |
You will only need all this if a contract has been placed on you..... obviously due to what you do. The police should do a background check on everyone that requests for personal protection. |
Mr Umahi. The state of the highways you have refused to fix first. Rather wasting resources on roads no one asked for and no one campaigned about is the greatest de-marketer of Nigeria.... because it is ruining businesses that are heavily dependent on logistics and will scare any investor who intends to deal in mass market goods and services. Yours sincerely has shut down cross country till November at the least after the terrible experience out of Port Harcourt headed north a month and a half ago with damaged equipment. Leave politics and face your duty. You are not contesting for any office. Do your work mister. |
NewHe:And is that good ![]() But I trust America. They vote according to their experiences, not according to propaganda or stipends. The way they chases the Democrats out is the way they will chase the Republicans away. |
So the NDC wishes to join the other entrenched parties to mercantile the elections....to turn democracy to a bazaar....in order to do what....exchange good governance for bread crumbs eh.... They better do better and not go down this road. Any citizen that wishes to be 'paid' to vote should spread his mat and sleep in misery. Those that want to change this country in deed should make the sacrifices before, not after the fact. |
In Nigeria, no one is ever held accountable by NAMING NAMES. One reads about issues abroad to the very last detail, everything is disclosed. But here they tell stories without actors. If someone cannot access the contents of his accounts and it is against the law or regulatory agencies what is wrong in calling them out by name. If you can't how do you get to solve the issue, and how will others be aware and learn. You hear radio and tv stations hiding behind the absurd thinking of not giving free advert, when the exact opposite is the case. Then you hear folks on social media complaining about poor service and when you ask them who does what, they chicken out as if the value of the transaction does not belong to them. If I call out a bank by name, what will they do, to me, seize my money.....? Name them so that at best people avoid falling into the same pit and at worst folks will vote with their feet. That is how society improves itself. |
Oga. If you are not equally corrupt. Compile a dossier on everyone of them. Make several flash copies, walk straight into the US embassy, and parcel them to the FBI, Interpol and all the agencies of law in all the countries these monies are stashed.....then donot forget to ask for asylum. The worst is that they will harass your family for a while but you can spend your last days in peace and pass on in a saner society as a hero of this country. But of course you can't do that because you have signed some secret papers before the appointment that will make it impossible for you to turn on your benefactors, so.....just enjoy your guilt in peace. |
Penguin2:When that 12 years or 8 years you talk about comes around, another reason why the south easterners are 'unfit' will arise again. Then his likes will join a long line of victims from the late Alex Ekwueme to the ultra liberal, ultra cosmopolitan Rochas Okorocha who was told he did not 'do enough' to warrant widespread acceptance from the 'owners of Nigeria'. No south easterners will ever do enough unfortunately. This thing has been a recurring theme since the civil war across both civilian and military regimes. Nigeria has refused to move on. |
chiiraq802:Which means Shettima, Atiku and other leaders from the North-East cannot aspire since they too are 'confused with I want a caliphate or not'.... |
Raxxye:How many times will I say this That the black man is just not wired to organize himself into a viable, prosperous and sustainable society. He has to be ruled with a rod of iron to attain the minimum level of decency. That is why the continent continues to crawl and creep like a slug. One step forward, two steps back. Everyone complains about the lack of investment on the continent. But who will put his money into a sport or an organization that coordinates it, that flip flops on everything. We thought Hayatou was terrible. Motsepe has taken disorganization to another level....just terrible. |
Contracts....contracts....and Contractors. The bane of the nation Nigeria. The destroyer of her economy. The eroder of productivity. The killer of vision and innovation. The death of the true and natural values of planting, tending, growing and in due time, harvesting. The fuel of government indolence, waste and deep rooted corruption. They want to change a light bulb in the office...contract. The DG wants to use the loo and there is no tissue.,.contract. He wants to wash his hands and the dispenser has no soap.... contract. Who will stand for public office and end this terrible sub-culture. Lift this millstone, this yoke off the necks of the hapless citizens of this country whose poverty is used to feed the fat cats.... When they say the achievement of this government is giving more money to States and then you see the kinds of things done with government resources, you understand why nothing has fundamentally changed in the lives of the people that have contributed to that forced taxation called subsidy removal. |
Glad Nigerians are waking up to the realities of their existence in this geographic soa e called a country. Been saying this for two decades on the streets and a decade on this forum. That without restructuring. This country can never develop as we globally understand development. The structure of this country cannot prosper this country in the same way you cannot grow wheat in a swamp. |
Morizo:The government has told you to go adjust to the realities of a reformed Nigeria. That is the consequential adjustment. When you cannot fight for good governance, a better economy and a fair deal for all citizens. |
