What blockheads get into in the name of being initiated into a cult. What benefits are there if not destruction and regret thereafter, yet some dumbs will hasten to rush to a cult group for such harrowing initiation practices just to feel belonged. Nauseating! Oh Soyinka. Your noble intentions in the past has metamorphosed into ruinous act for our youths. What are you doing to stop this trend? FG should take a second look at this phenomenon.

Alright....different criteria.

From this website...

Certification of polio eradication is conducted on a regional basis. Each region can consider certification only when all countries in the area demonstrate the absence of wild poliovirus transmission for at least three consecutive years in the presence of certification standard surveillance.

In addition, all facilities holding wild poliovirus infectious and potentially infectious materials must have implemented bio-containment measures according to the Global action plan for laboratory containment of wild poliovirus (2003).

As for Ebola....this website has the info

Note that the difference is in the LANGUAGE. For Polio....eradication. For Ebola...end of outbreak. That means that when the press says a country is Ebola free....the WHO says that it is just the end of an outbreak of the disease....the disease is still around....and we must keep our eyes open.

Of course....whether eradication or end of outbreak....we still remain vigilant.
Despite it being in your favor in certain even you would agree deep within you there's a contradiction or what do you think?

bushdoc9919:
Main topic was the pic OP posted.

As for polio....WHO/UNICEF is acting cautious for very good reasons(Some countries are still polio affected...and this is the jet age...where mosquitoes have been seen taking holidays in London...).

As for Ebola....it does not spread like polio. Roughly put...Ebola is a disease of one massive outbreak....every year. Plus...declaring a country Ebola free(or Polio free).. does not mean that we in the health care sector sit down and chillax.

As an example...Uganda had a bad ebola outbreak in 2000. 200 people died. Then there was a period of about 5 years...when there was no outbreak...but that was time enough for Uganda to build a sophisticated Ebola-testing lab, and to put in place public health measures to stop the next outbreak in its tracks. So, when the next Ebola outbreaks came...they were ready.(They have not lost even up to 50 people in the years since.).

Declaring a country free of disease X does not mean it is time to relax (as the US is finding out with measles....which a few years ago they thought they were on the verge of eradicating).
in a multitude of words sin is not lacking
is Nigeria Ebola free or not?
was it declared or not?
why do we wait 2 years for the polio case?

Slightly off topic...but WHO/UNICEF , while happy about there being no polio in one year....still want to wait two more years before declaring victory. Meanwhile...they still urge us to vaccinate.
Did you wait two years when they declared Nigeria Ebola free?
If polio comes back or is found remember it's GEJ still ruling o

I'm not saying what she did is unforgivable but forgiving her and taking her back are two things entirely. She feel remorseful, that's fine. He should accept her apology but never take her back.

Her apology is leery and her claim of turning a new leaf is dubious and lacks merit. She want him back not because of whatever love she has for him but because of his wealth. She would never have seen the need or a cause to apologies if things didn't turn out positive for the guy. The apology is a preposition seeking to gain unmerited advantage into his wealth and should be dismiss.
In order words tell her you've forgiven her, smash am well well then he too should now break up with her bah?

...I totally agree with you

By 1940 the British had ruled Nigeria for 43 years uninterrupted, and exported our resources worth countless billions of dollars in today's money. So how come traffic lights were such a rarity in Nigeria as to cause such fascination to the emir? I thought they said white people rule better than blacks? Why in fact were we an underdeveloped nation at all by 1960 after 63 years of uninterrupted white rule? What did the whites do with all the money they made from our resources in those 63 years?
