yolkman20: Hello everyone, Please I need advice. I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out. So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.) During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO. Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking with it, we cant opt out. She couldnt call me because she wasn't with her phone. She ensured all the paper works was done and DD was set before she let her near her phone. My wife has so much regard for her and that's why she couldn't say NO. Too much respect...
I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....
I immediately told her to come take the pot but the supplier said no way, DD has been set and there's no going back)(dey don plan am.) Bleep up i did was, i should've rang the company directly but i just gave up because i dont want issues between me and egbon. Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.
Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.
It's tiring... I look forward to ya'lls suggestions So this man sold you guys because of £500 referral bonus? Omo Nigerians are actually their own enemies abroad oh.. |

Karabakh is the territory of Azerbaijan.
The imposition of a status other than this will never be accepted.
We have supported the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia from the beginning. However, we see that Armenia has failed to take advantage of this historic opportunity.
We expect 🇦🇲 Armenia to fulfill its promises, especially the opening of the Zangezur Corridor.
Our primary goal should be for everyone, including Armenians, to live side by side in peace on Azerbaijani territory.
We support the steps taken by 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan, which we act with the motto of "one nation, two states", to preserve its territorial integrity. One of the smartest president ever. Turkey should be proud of this man. |

Standstrong: I picked up the gate man job ending of last month out of no other better options at the moment and seeing what economic hardship was making me pass through, especially waking up with no hope of where food is going to come from, make i no go steal, God abeg.
I have been doing the job well. Yesterday, while strolling around the area, I heard one man saying he is looking for someone to cut grasses in his compound. Being something I can do to collect the money to help myself as i was hungry and peniless, I met the man and told him i can do the work and we agreed on N15k.
So as my oga went to work, i rushed down to do the work. While I was on it, i dont know what brought my oga back to the house and he didnt see me at the post.
He called me and asked me where i am. I rushed down to the house. I told him i got a small contract of 15k to cut grass for someone in the neighbourhood.
The man got so angry on why I left his duty post to go do another job. Worse was that the person i did the job for was more like his enemy, as i later learnt they've not been in good terms.
He sacked me instantly. I begged this man as a human being to please forgive but he refused to consider me again. He even said, "go before you go and collect poison from my enemy to come and kill me".
Please what is my business with whatever fight the two of them are fighting?
That was how I lost the small job i just got 3 weeks ago and now back with nothing. He should have paid me for the 3 weeks right away but he didnt, rather he said i will find a way to pay you for the services so far.
Please, the country is already very hard and all I needed was something that could give me immediate money to survive on first.
Sad how struggling citizens are being badly treated everyday even while legitimately hustling for survival. How he will pay me for the 3 weeks, he didn't say it.
It's painful but it is not the end of the world.
I will make it too. Amen.
It shall never be well with hunger, agent of poverty. This is the mediocrity we are talking about I mean from your end. You broke your contract. You are being paid to be at the post of duty and nothing else. You saw another job you know you can't do and you still went ahead to do it. That's not fair on the person paying you. |

Gerrard59: You don't have a bachelor degree, and you are targeting a high-demand region. Hair styling or barbing is not a skill that immigration authorities will issue a work visa for. You wrote WAEC nine years ago. Let's say you were 18 years old, then you are almost 30 now. The question is: which European university will admit a 30-year-old man into a BSc program? Two, visa issuance. Almost a week ago, people were lamenting on Twitter that Polish embassy's officials in Nigeria were demanding bribes before issuing a visa interview date. Interview o, not the visa itself. Getting a student visa to European countries is tough to come by these days, let alone for someone without a bachelor degree.
Let's be frank here, your options are limited, and Europe is not one of them. So, what next? Target countries where your 8M can go a long way. Like Pansophi.st said, change it to dollars or euros to preserve the value. Learn Portuguese or Spanish and target countries in South America. Universities in Brazil are free regardless of nationality. Other South American countries have tuition fees but lower for foreigners than Europe. Mexico is a good one, but courses are taught in Spanish.
Alternatively, enrol into a program in Nigeria to attain first-degree status, then apply for an MSc program at universities in selected South American countries. Not all are worth it, so choose wisely. To me, your major obstacle is your lack of a bachelor degree, not even your choice of Europe or 8M naira.
Lastly, do not, I reiterate, do not go through the tourist visa option. You will be duped, you won't enter the country, and you will be banned forever. Don't give any agent a kobo of your money. The information is online. Omo you deh try oh. |
