PoliticsRe: PDP Crisis: S/south Gov To Replace Muazu by Remarkable: 8:24am On Apr 27, 2015

I don't know why, but I can't seem to trust the Nation newspaper when it comes to certain topics, especially those pertaining to the opposition.

in between, I am thinking that PDP should get IBB to run as its presidential candidate in 2019.... that will be one heck of an election. IBB and an Igbo VP.. or even SS... whatever works... I really think that year will be more interesting than this 2015 betrayal of GEJ...

•Govs, Clark, Anyim fingered in plot

[quote author=teeowl post=33146625]This is what I would have done
***********************
* Organize a security team (made up of my loyal Igbo soldiers) to get all the Igbos back from the North.
* Demand from the ruling Govt that the culprits of the Igbo onslaught must be brought to book.
* Take my case of Genocide to the world powers (even though they were all busy with their own problems at that time)
* Come up with an economic plan for the returning Igbos to start earning Income
* Do anything and everything possible to prevent a full scale war! - losing a few thousand is better than losing over 1 million innocent Igbo civilians
I think Ojukwu did everything he could. He and the eastern assembly especially were fed up with the killings of Igbos that lasted for months... if all Igbos returned to the east and stayed there without moving to any parts of Nigeria... then what is the point of answering the same name as Nigeria? (we are not living in your country cause you don't want us... it seems like an open and close case to me... unless you say he could have fought small and then given up... but again.. it is what it is.

I did NOT say that! I just said why feed the enemy. I am completely against Ojukwu and the Biafran campaign. I have no beef with Igbos... My issue is with Igbotic Zombies that worship the idea of Biafra and Ojukwu, when we all know that the actions of Ojukwu caused over 1 million civilian deaths.

Currently I have only 5 close friends - 1 Yoruba, 1 Isoko, 3 Igbos [all my University and Secondary school friends]
Its easy to criticize Ojukwu... let me ask you this, what could Ojukwu had done which you'd think was the right thing to do... recall that he had personally taken Igbos back to the north where they had built a livelihood... and yet... civilians were being rounded up and killed.

When you are killed all over the country where you'd been domicile... isn't the hand writing on the wall clear?

... and don't you know that Ojukwu did not want war in the first place?

Igbos are peaceful people... and the trip to Aburi in Ghana to meet Gowon was to find a solution to the crises...

I wish that tens of thousands of Igbos in the north were not being hounded and killed for issues they have no clue about...

I wish our military men would have settled scores... but it is what it is.

They were defeated almost immediately. Ojukwu in his pride chose to play games with civilian lives and refused to surrender.Thank God the Nigerian Army were professional and not inclined to genocide
This, to me, sounds like an excuse.

A very poor and pointless excuse that a weak man gives...

You go home with two black eyes you got from being in a fight, and when they ask you, you say its because you are not inclined to hurting people lol...

The Nigerian army lost more men than that of the Biafrans, and its because they didn't want to commit genocide is a lie and you know it. Nothing you say can save face, you were unable to conquer men with sticks and stones. Period.

If you (Nigerian army) did not want to commit genocide, why were they bombing market places?

What goes "killing everything that moves" on entering Igbo land mean?

I don't like it when people tell bold face lies. its annoying.

it seems like you don't understand that the Biafran army was not up to a million, talkless half of a million... the 3 million dead were civilians... women, children... even a red cross plane that provides medical care to civilians was being shot at... you call Biafrans "enemies" ... so I guess that is why you justify a food blockaide... and you probably wish all Igbos will be wiped off the face of the earth... nah eye we use dey look una shaa

To all those saying it is silly to fight a war with sticks... I have one question:

How come the Nigerian army had more casualities than the biafran army?

that is something to ponder. That they were called the greatest black army was for a reason you'd never understand... or as some of you say it is silly... yet again... Nigeria was unable to overcome them in the touted 3 weeks... (and out of frustration started bombing civilians and imposed an illegal blockaide...)

You lily livered tribe can continue jesting... real mem don't say much, they say...

Pls ooooo, if you are not from Abia just stop saying shit! The best you can do is to wish them well and not say negative things.
Oh no no no! They can't not say pooh!

They have not stepped a foot in Abia state and they get their news from all the lies emanating from T.A. Orji's nemesis and owner of The Scum tabloid. What a sensible person would do whom is not able to visit the state, is try to get news sources from both sides of the political divide in order to arrive at a more objective conclusion of the state in Abia... but its too much stress for them to do that, that is why they'd rather believe that Arthur Eze exclaimed "Abia stinks" (of course as the Scum reported) when the man came out to swear that he never said such a thing...

So you can't keep them from talking, let them talk all the pooh they want, the real truth is there for Abians that voted and whom will feel the real impact of his governance... admittedly, or lack thereof, only time will tell...
and will live with it.
Congratulations once again to Umu Aba! Enyimba city!

PoliticsRe: Alledged Mourning In Abia As INEC Declare Ikpeazu Winner by Remarkable: 5:42pm On Apr 26, 2015
igbokwesampson:
There is uncommon calm and peace as Inec declared Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the peoples Democratic party the winner of the just concluded supplementary election in Abia.
This morning from around Umuahia metropolis, one can observe quietness as resident of the once busy state capital mourn what some declared as a total destruction for another four years, Ikpeazu who was the former ASEPA boss was said according to inhabitant of the commercial city of Aba to have failed in his responsibility of ASEPA boss to clean up Aba while he holds sware as the environmental boss, and was only known for collection tolls and levies and remitting same to his boss Chinedu Orji, the son of the Governor of the state. Dr T . A Orji.
While some argued that Ikpeazu's emergence will only consolidate the Orji's Dynasty in Abia state and a complete consolidation of the directionlessness which the T. A orji's administration was adjudged as. Their dismay and rejection of the declaration by INEC can be seen among the commercial motorcyclist, shop owners and residents, as most inhabitants of the city has resulted to God for their survival for the next four years. The case is not different from Aba and other parts of Abia as the candidate of Ikpeazu was rejected even before inception
Meanwhile few supporters of the PDP was also seen rejoicing and celebration of the emergence of their candidate as the governor elect of Abia.
without a source, I can already guess it is the Scum tabloid posting this crap.

This governorship is being mourned simply because Ikpeazu is associated with TA, onye Ibeku that is unanimously hated, not because o wu onye Ngwa. Ask yourself, TA is from Umuahia, but what did he do for Umuahia except for buying land everywhere and clearing out markets. All these 'my people must rule' nonsense needs to go.
Unfortunately our politics in Nigeria has not matured up to the level where "let our son rule (its our turn)" politics is no longer the norm.

.. and didi you want an answer to your question of what T.A. Orji did for Umuahia? (or was it rhetorical, to which of course I'd disagree with).

I am glad that at least someone sees deconjesting the main town centre by relocating was a bold move taken by the out-going governor.

My problem with Igbos is they failed to read the whole history and events that led to the civil war.

They only listened to their uncles false conjectures and stories for the gods.

I wish they can be objective for once.

However, we should also note that the major players in the history of Nigeria then, were less than 35years in age. What was their level of maturity? Majority of them will never tow that line, if given the opportunity once more.

All sides lost something during the course of those unfortunate events. Igbos should stop behaving as if they are the only victims.

If there was no action, there would not have been a reaction. Simple
Are you aware of a coup that was being planned by a group of norther soldiers around the same time the touted Igbo coup happened?

Go look it up and come back with your report.

What happened in 1966 coup was nothing short of revenge cos Gowon, Murtala, Danjuma and other senior officers felt betrayed by the eastern and western region cos the original plan was for all the Democratic leaders to be wiped out but Azikiwe,Awololo and that mid western man survived the attack and only the north recorded heavy casualties.. Since you've already concluded that Okezie Ikpeazu is nothing but a figure head, something tells me that no matter what he does to transform the state via Aba, you will still find fault and dismiss it with a wave of the hand.

Nobody knows what Ikpeazu or Oti have at the back of their minds, but if you are not willing to give someone the benefit of doubt, I hope you stick to your words of not visiting or stepping foot in Abia if Okezie Ikpeazu ends up being the man Aba has been waiting for.

I read of all what Amaechi and APC were saying in the media and calling for cancellations and all... only to tune in to the radio and hear PH people giving report of how peaceful the voting was and that it was the first time since the creation of Rivers state that there was no violence... I thought my ears were deceiving me until he went into detail of where he voted and how people comported themselves... No land in Nigeria is no man's land. Until they remove the state of Origin and Local govt from our constitution then your assertion is null and void. Everyone is free to live anywhere in Nigeria but no land is no man's land.
You are taking it literally... of course igbos own the land they bought in Lagos... so do others... it is a PLACE, a location... that is no man's land.

You cant go where there is barren land and say this land is no man's land so I can build on it.. lol although I heard some people do that in PH... that's not the type of no man's land we are talking about. we are referring to the collection of all tribes living in a particular place, whether bought, inherited or rented... that settlement is no man's land.

Or would no man's settlement be easier for you to take?

Go back to the beginning and stop sounding foolish. Did i say if you buy land then its not yours. You said Lagos is no mans land cos you own a land there and i asked if Onitsha is no mans land if i buy a land there as well. Then i remind you Non Lagosian will travel during holiday but the native have no where to go then you talking about some buying trash in New York. You are only here to throw jabs as usual so stop the pretense.
Ahah! I see... I knew it must have been some misunderstanding of what I said... perhaps what I meant... well... the answer is "No"... if a single person buys land somewhere, it doesn't make it no man's land. You have to understand what the term means... it is not a "bad" thing for a place to be no man's land... the term is another word for cosmopolitan... Abuja for example, is another example of a place that is no man's land... or cosmopolitan... look up the word in the dictionary, that might help. if many tribes are living, co-existing in a place... that is a good thing as it brings rapid growth, exposure and development...

Let me quickly add that the no man's land retort was born out of what Ndigbo deemed an unfair practise that was to be imposed on them by Yorubas who thumped it in their faces that they are in Yorubaland.... so in response... they told them back, (as we are not known to cower or roll over for anyone) that it was developed by all Nigerians... and since the state has a representation of most ethnic tribes in Nigeria... it has ceased to be seen as "Yorubaland" longer
