What i want to know is why is there always violence and skirmishes perpetrated by northern muslim extremests in nigeria but hardly happens in this other west african countries and cameroun even though they also have their own muslims(mostly in their northern parts as nigeria) in their countries ?

That is a good, question and my own answer is that most riots have political undertone not religious. The biased press does not help matters in most cases too.
