DeLaRue: Good.
Mr Buhari's administration printed so much naira, if the man had been in government for a few more years, inflation and the value of the naira will have ended up somewhere not too far from Zimbabwe's experience.
As part of the mopping up exercise, the CBN also announced medium & long term bonds a couple of weeks ago.
Both of these exercises are barely scratching the surface of the problem, as I read somewhere recently that there could be as much as N90 trillion in the system
If that's true, I don't envy the CBN. They have a big big challenge on their hands. https://www.nairaland.com/7316873/throwback-tinubu-telling-fg-print#116371444 |

Zombieoppressor: I bought 5 bags from distributors for 1500 only.
The retailers are the ones jacking up the prices and not the wholesalers.
Akurians are wicked when it comes to retail marketing or reselling.
A bag from the distributors is 300 and not 500. Go to agric section and you will see grains at N600 per measure in bush market but N1000--N1100 in city. |

ElSudani: This is not exactly a bad thing from economic point of view. Why can't we scale up, produce more and take more of their money? that's because we detest production. What you have is 200m people going and coming(activity) instead of productivity. Instead of seeing it as job opportunities and farm more, we cry because we are not ready to farm. We prefer to collect allocations and buy what few people produce. |

“For those of us who from time to time go to Saudi Arabia on pilgrimage and so on. I should remind you that the Masjid al-Haram, the Makkah mosque uses 18,000 megawatts of electricity daily.
“Here in Nigeria, that is a country with over 220 million people, we are generating 4,000 megawatts of electricity after 64 years of independence. Something is wrong with everybody, everyone. Everyone is guilty,” Mr Abdullahi said. That's cos we run a demonic system modelled after witchcraft. That system favours this scum and his people. |

Life is a warfare and people tend to take side at discovery point so end up with the adversary(Satan). Can Satan afflict his own? He may send those still embodied to go after unwilling captives and free ones but never the captured ones. Bad things from the adversary are meant for good people on a regular basis, while bad thing from God(God's wrath) is reserved for bad people. |

These politically minded creatures prefer to take perfectly working schemes, scrap/suppress them, then relaunch them with another name just to take credit as being initiated under their govt. All at the expense of the masses of course.
Which one is "National Agricultural Growth Scheme Agro-Pocket (NAGS- AP) project" again? Launched in November 2023, by a govt that's not aware a strategic grain reserve exists until someone mentioned it on Nairaland? |

Politics › Re: Why Food Items Will Be Very Scarce In Nigeria Next Year - Babachir Lawal by RepoMan007: 3:56pm On Feb 24, 2024 |
Politics has eaten into manufacture and commerce after security was tamed. That's the fastest way to arouse the anger of the masses against the government. Go into the main local food hubs and buy off strategic food items that can trigger inflationary effects of substitutes. See the way this dumped politician twisted his calculation to justify disproportionate inflation. He said if fertilizer that sold for N25k-N27k jumped to N37k, he will have to scale down from 2000 hectares to 100 hectares. Hear him Look at fertiliser for example, the highest price last year was N25,000 to N27,000 for NPK- 20 1010. This year, I went to the market to see if I start buying my fertiliser early, the price is now N37,000. So, if last year, I was able to buy fertiliser to cultivate 2,000 hectares of cotton, this year, based on the price, I will have to restrict myself to 100 hectares because I will not have enough money to buy sufficient fertiliser. That's less than 50% increase in cost of input making him scale down production by 95%. |
