Watianoengineer: Yet they keep blaming president Tinubu as if he is the cause of the current hardship. A country that imports common toothpick and produces nothing should not be surprised when hunger comes knocking. This is why we all have to support the renewed Hope Agenda of our president in turning things around for the greater good. It won't be easy but we will all smile at the end. Let's forget that inexperienced man called Peter Obi and his shenanigans and concentrate on our repositioning our country Tinubu that allowed agbero finish Lagos? |

Lol. Industry cluster, production, food import. What I have been saying. Govt loves cosmetic approach. They like to parade useless textbook jargons that are out of context. If your have a thing, you won't go out looking for it and so won't need dollar for that thing. We lack so many things we desire. |

Politics › Re: Worsening Economy: Stop Floating Of Naira Immediately, Sagay Tells Tinubu by RepoMan007: 2:12pm On Feb 22, 2024 |
I disagree. Subsidizing forex and petrol is wasteful and drains one region.
Instead buy food and sell to Nigerian with only marginal profit. That should push prices of food down and buy govt more time to implement food based projects locally. |

Politics › Re: No Governor Has Denied Collecting 30billion Naira - Senator Shehu Sani by RepoMan007: 12:45pm On Feb 22, 2024 |
Most of that money is chasing limited forex and helping to keep the Naira down. They can afford a dollar at N2500 because the money was printed and handed to them on a platter.
Tinubu should have given them around 10% of that and wait to observe the impact. |

Mindlog: Severally used it to exchange my naira to different currencies without stressing Nigerian banks nor BDC
I use my naira to pay for USDT/ETH/BTC from traders on exchanges selling in Naira, when received, I sell them to traders buying in Kenyan shillings and British Pounds, having them pay into my Kenyan and UK bank account, I also use it to remit funds back to Nigeria from these 2 countries.....so no pressure on Nigeriay banks The first sensible reply. It is an e-currency with decentralized ledgers and unrestricted by borders. It is also hard to trace and that makes it a fav for criminals and underworld. It depends on the hard currencies in a sense because you need the exchange rates of currencies to know what to pay for a crypto balance. Some things are sure, it has power to bridge gaps and is volitale, harder to trace. |

1x2x3: You are blaming the P2P forgetting the real thieve are your bank MDs who CBN release $$$ to but you would never find the Dollars available to buy from them. Why would anyone want to buy $$ from P2P if banks are willing to sell?
The CBN sell $$ to the banks at N1500 the banks instead of selling to the public at N1550 they prefer to reserve it for politicians or BDCs at a much more higher rate like N1600. Politicians will take this money away and cause shortage while the rest that was sold to BDC will be resold at 1700.
Stop blaming P2P. If they Govt want to solve the problem then they should start with reshuffling things within. What you see is a Govt failing Govt or a clueless one. The banks reserve it for politicians because they won't snitch on them and FG has been loading the.politician s with printed Naira lately. The FG is incompetent. |

Politics › Re: Petrol Import Reduced By 1 Billion Litres In Seven Months by RepoMan007: 8:13am On Feb 22, 2024 |
matify83: With the removal of fuel subsidy, it was only a matter of time before the once lucrative racketeering of fuel across the borders die a slow but agonizing death.
Also, the closure of some of our northern borders especially the Niger border due to ECOWAS sanctions on the coupist has drastically cut off a major artery for smuggled fuel.
Another master stroke may also have been the change of guard at the helms of the customs, immigration and other relevant bodies. The former heads may have turned a blind eye to smugglers and smuggling activities or were willing participants in the massive sleaze.
It is however not lost in this discuss that Nigerians have drastically cut down on the use of fuel due to the harsh economic climate. Generators are running less or not at all, people are commuting less and far between, disposable incomes are channelled into more gainful ventures than supporting luxury and a host of other factors. It is still alive. We sell for around $0.5. Our neighbour's sell for around 0.7-0.8 |
