guobe:there was inflation and famine in their own time too. Those two phenomenon are synonymous to lack. What they did better than us was managing it better by crying to God above for answers and not to their kings for endless palliatives or for printing of money. |
Since the govt has decides that printing cash and selling petrol to arm a selected few so they can buy what I and others produce is the right approach, I support we go back to trade by barter. Among other things, it will: - Force more people to think about what they can offer to get what they need and want. - Help people stop belittling some noble professions, vocations and businesses. - Reduce oversaturation of distribution chain in commerce, thus forcing some persons to go and join the productive arm of the labour force. - Help govt have a rethink about ignoring welfare of the drivers of the economy. (The lowly). |
Guns can't bring dollar down. Demand and supply equilibrium tells us why it fell. Before this week average daily dollar sales was higher. One supply dipped and demand remained, the price went up in reaction to that. |
With which forex? |

EmperorCaesar:Ogogoro guzzler. Ways and means basically is extra money printed and circulated. |
If those at FG level knows what is good and sensible to do, they better stop fake expenses, useless capital projects like new roads or structures. Existing ones should be maintained and only salary component of state allocation be released. States are not contributing any significant revenue and FG needs revenue now. |
I understand the second Niger bridge between delta state and anambra state was long overdue and neccesary to avoid sudden breakdown of the old bridge. I understand things like agricultural schemes to boost food security. But these things can barely account for 20% of the loans so what did we do with loans? |
The end result of when you cram 200 humans in such a small space and start brainwashing them with promises and things like Giant of Africa title. All our GDP is less than that of small states in the US. 200 million people just going and coming and flexing free oil money. |
Lol. What was the trailer conveying? Cement? Sugar? Spaghetti? All is of value so nothing is spared. |
Three gala® will serve you better and you will still have N1200-N1400 change left. Nigerians overdo things I have to say. That's how we arrived here so fast. |
femisplash:Well that was what the 41 forex restricted items where about. Productive things were prioritized above less productive ones to drive home an important point and encourage local alternatives to survive. |

Same ways and means Tinubu suggested to Buhari or another one? Anything to blame the man that handed him power. |
Demand are not all on same level of importance. Machinery to cultivate 500 hectares instead of 10 hectares manually is different from wine to intoxicate, artificial hair to slay, cigars to flex, inferior sugar candies. I will like to see a breakdown of that import figure. |
ChybuzzDD:devaluation weakened our money and helped foreigners with stronger money raid our market. Simple. |
Tinubu equally suggested printing of money to Buhari so what's the point trying to blame someone who did what you advised his Oga? This political persecution and not normal government process. RepoMan007: |
If true, prices won't be going up months after harvest. The warehouses and storehouses are empty. |
Even if the sharer of bread and yam was stupid to say Yoruba's queue here and Hausa's queue there, you think there is no hungry Igbo, ijaw, ifik, Edo, delta, or calabar persons there that will join the queue. |
Ance4Liverpool:this can come later. If food grown with oil money can be Bought by foreigners, I support this move. |
nairalanda1:No money for subsidy but we never lack money for extreme luxury. |
Some people are trying to build three flyovers at 20-something billion Naira each. |
UselessBuharist:I thought I was the only one noticing that destructive trait. He is consumed by politicking to the point he doesn't see need to deliver good governance. He prefers to match the people complaining on political playing field. |
This fool should keep quiet. Faith. What of the one that sent a dollar to N1800 in less than 10 months? |
Chikel20000:Go and die with your perpetual pain oga. Igbo this Igbo that. How many Igbo state are prospering beyond their peers elsewhere? Like I said. You can die if you want. Someone took loans to build rail to Niger through his village in Katsina and you are ranging like squirrel that inhales pepper. |
Empty treasury is still better. He spent future earning in the past then handed over for Tinubu to face impossible repayment. |
Time to default debt repayment to arrest this free fall a little. |
Roasted cassava and palm oil. |
One thing that caught my attention was blocking of leakages. Kemi Adeosun was booted out for attempting it. Nobody dared mentioned that brilliant thing after her exit. |
A northerner is a northerner first and foremost. See him mouth. Buhari took so much loans he had to be printing money. At a point he travelled out to seek loan and the next day he was talking about loan cancellation. He knew the loans were unpayable within himself. This reverse-solomon should shut up. |
