Seriously? What is your standard of rating performance of state governors?

For Lagos—where I live—he should at least be able to keeep the roads in motorable condition regardless of the rains. He should also be able to sanitize and maintain efficient waste disposal given the huge population of Lagos State.

This is in addition to other mega infrastructural projects in keeping with the state’s mega city status. grin

You see? It’s not rocket science for a “Lagos State” Governor. But Ambode failed in these regard.

Meanwhile buhari does not have a cult followership in the north

I am sure even you don’t believe your comment about Buhari.

Even though I hate the man, I admit and acknowledge that he’s the most powerful northern politician of the era. He has more than a cult following self. The poor of the north believe he’s the only politician with integrity in Nigeria.

That’s why Buhari is the 3rd Mahdi of Islam in Nigeria. Ahmadu Bello was the first but I don’t know the second.

He can’t do anything! What can he do?

It is the people of Lagos that will suffer for it as he will practically sign over the state to Tinubu!

It seems you don’t know how strong Tinubu’s grip is on Lagos? And he prides himself on performance—that’s why he’s still relevant till today.

I kinda pity Governor Ambode though but life itself is not fair. He has underperformed as a Governor and he doesn’t have the clout to garner the sympathy of lagosians, hence his ordeal with Tinubu.

This is the narrative we saw physically but have refused to tell our children in attempts to be " politically correct" only to be insulted in today's Nigeria as Illiterates, Almajiri, shoe shiner, parasite in daily interface despite our education. What they are doing to us today reminds me of those dark days and tells me that they have not changed. Do you blame me? When I am a witness? Will i be justified to insist that my children should not see what i have seen?

The time for being "politically correct" is gone. My PVC has along validuty period and I will make sure that anybody that insulted me in 66 and whose children are insulting me now, does not have the chance to lord it over my grand children and give them the same treatment . It is called democracy, using your vote.

This is a serious comment ooo.

I don’t know why igbos can’t stop insulting other Nigerians. They are really doing damage to their tribe’s chances of ever being politically relevant in Nigeria by denigrating others. In fact, it seems they have given up all hope of being President Of Nigeria—which invariably means they would need hausa and Yoruba votes—and adopted a zero sum approach of destroying the country. It is akin to the biblical story of the two prostitutes and King Solomon. It’s also known as the sour grapes principle—if I can’t have it, I rather destroy it. The coming years will be very rough for them politically indeed.

I hope the igbos are seeing this?

So many poor people think politicians are responsible for their plight. That’s wrong. Their problems stem from a lack of financial education and opportunities to climb out of the poverty circle.

Buhari will not save anybody, in fact, he has thrust millions into the poverty trap with failed economic policies. Other than uneducated northerners, I expect any southerner to understand this basic fact.

No politician is coming to save anybody. It’s all man for himself, God for us all.

Was never a successful medical doctor.

Never practised after housemanship.

Your opening statement has already put me off.

Whether we like it or not, there are the bourgeoisie and proletariat, and there is nothing anybody can do about it.

Why do we choose to demonize Bukola for being the son of Oloye Olushola Saraki who strode the political firmament of Kwara unchallenged? Is it Bukola’s fault that he’s an heir to vast fortunes?

By your logic, Seyi tinubu and folashade Tinubu are also criminals who do not deserve to be voted for given what their father is subjecting the resources of Lagos to? I know where all these is coming from and I say you need not bother yourself as Bukola is ordinarily no match for Buhari politically, unless the powers that be in this world decide otherwise.

Bukola Saraki still has a major role to play in the political future of this country given his age and wealth of experience. The salvation of the poor people of Kwara does not lie with Buhari, Saraki or any politician for that matter. Their liberation will come from the development of their own human capital through qualitative education and empowerment initiatives either implemented by the Government or by individuals.

Other than God, no force on earth can make Bukola Saraki be part of the proletariat in the life.

So oga, face your hustle and leave this Sai Baba fanaticism.

Ikr but his family has always been at the top of the food chain in Kwara state and Oloye Olushola Saraki was a successful medical doctor and politicf ian of old. We know all our politicians have soiled their hands with Nigeria’s money so why do we pin the corrupt tag on Bukola?

It is better to engage and oppose him with issue based politics and not smear campaigns and politics which aims to demonize and belittle him before the poor. I think this populist brand of politics is another innovation of Buhari which he has brought to national attention from the North. It is a defeatist ideology which can only work amongst s the poor who feel politicians like bukky are responsible for their illiteracy and poverty.

You and I know that regardless of whether or not Bukky got involved in politics, the poor folks of Kwara will remain poor as they have refused to educate themselves and their children. A life Presidency for Buhari will not lift millions in the North out of poverty, only massive investment in education and medium and small scale business can do so. It will a nihilist and unfairly targeted approach to seek to make Bukky a villain for the failure of Societe General Bank when it happened at a very early stage in his life.

I expect you as an educated fellow to know better than join in swan cry of those who will blame one individual for the massive poverty in Kwara. No single politician has the power to lift or thrust millions into, only strong institutions and viable economic policies can help uplift the socio economic situation of any society.

she has already cultivated a relationship with Christine Lagarde in the last three years. Are we to call back Dr Iweala? who is going to stand for us that would be respected? or you believe a fresh face will be able to carry on such a huge task?

Me thinks anybody can assume that position and build a relationship with the heads of multilateral global financial bodies. It doesn’t have to be kemi. God forbid, what if she dies? Won’t Nigeria appoint a new head?

What we should be worried about is the signal this scandal will send to our international partners about institutions in Nigeria——that such a sensitive position like the finance minister can forge certificates. We should be able to build institutions that will maintain the fundamentals of our markets regardless of who is at the helm.

That and our international image is what we should worry about. We are even lucky that our local bourse is not responsive to shocks like this scandal, otherwise, our equities would have shed significant value.

You have spoken well but please don’t say Yorubas want to kill or take over igbo properties.

The worst we can do is formulate stringent policies to deter more igbos from residing and investing in our region. We are not violent people. We can threaten and boast but we would never adopt violence as a way to solve our problems.

I have always suspected that it is all about Lagos. Can you enumerate how Igbo disrespect their hosts in Lagos. And how do you want them to conduct themselves that they are contravening. Don't you think that you can openly canvas for constitutional changes that will exclude non Yoruba from the politics of Lagos. If it becomes the law everyone will abide by it. We cannot pretend that non indigenes do not exist when they do in large numbers and the constitution does not restrict them from elective positions. I mean this is a reality that we must accept and live with. At no point do I expect that a non Yoruba should aspire to be an Oba. But the political positions are open to qualified candidate if we must progress. Its not only Yoruba people that can develop Lagos. Lagos have been a cosmopolitan town with diverse groups contributing to its development. We need to be open and objective and challenge the status quo. Lets be focusing on the bigger picture.

OK I imagine that you guys want the Igbo to spearhead Biafra so that Nigeria dismembers and thereafter you can have your beloved Lagos. But you do not want to take any risks in the process and you also want to be seen as not wanting separations in case it all goes wrong. Can you for a moment think of a Lagos without the Igbos (Let us assume you have killed all of them and taken all their properties), the Oil and gas companies, other nigerians. That Lagos will be completely different from what it is today. Even a separate Biafra will still need the Nigerian market to survive. So my brother we all need each other please.

Hmmmmmmmm. This one you are sounding conciliatory so.

I would still refrain from addressing the substance of this post.
