Bane2020: I am surprised at this post from you given your hardline posture. The causes for the acrimony between both tribes runs deep and will take many years to remedy. I believe that the online exchanges have contributed in no small measure to the deterioration in the relationship between the youths of both tribes and it cannot be undone easily. That being said, the short term solution to our differences still remains a restructuring of the federation while we respect each others’ sensibilities and differences online. A situation whereby our online discourse is characterized by insults and muddying of the pool by our igbo brothers will only make tangible rapprochement efforts fail before it even gets started. Take for example the Buhari issue. The igbos have insulted both Yorubas and Hausas to an extent where even liberals who were hitherto opposed to Buhari now have no choice but to stick with him out of tribal loyalty. This has been my personal experience as the igbos have made Nigerian politics an Us v Them scenario thus leaving no grounds for concensus. I think it’s a little too late in the day to walk back the hateful rhetoric that pervades our online discourse. What we can do now is to respect ourselves and practice the politics of live and let live while respecting the majority decisions. I hate to look like the purveyor of hate and division but that is what you have made me look like with your post. Take care. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Fatherofdragons: I have given my position and it behoves on you to take the many positives from it for the benefit of your tribe. Trying to justify the actions of your youth online will not help you as millions are consuming our exchanges here, thus forming subjective opinions which will go a long way in shaping relations between both tribes going forward. I have done my part in opening the eyes of so many liberals (Yorubas) to the dangers posed by your tribe. I advise you to build alaigbo as nobody will do it for you. I have not been to the east since after my vocational one year law school program and I hope not to be there again. My region is quite sufficient for me. I want you(and other igbos) to have the same feeling of adequacy for your region for the benefit of the coming generation. Safe. 3 Likes 1 Share |

This might sound ignorant but I still don’t understand what the hullabaloo is all about. Is it not that foolish NYSC certificate that I don’t know where I flinged it in my house? Even though I used it to secure the jobs I have done, I still think with respect to Mrs Adeosun, she should not have been vilified for the authenticity or otherwise of her exemption certificate given her peculiar case of having been misled by unscrupulous elements who assured her that her’s was genuine. Her vilification would have been justified if she forged her college or university certificates, which would have undermined her integrity and the legitimacy of her Office. I just feel she was a victim of high wired ethnic politics by those who have an ax to grind with her and the Yoruba tribe. My joy is that she has left Nigeria with all her rot and gone back to the UK whicih is a saner clime than naija. I am only worried for the blot this scandal will create on her record in view of future engagements. 1 Like |

This is a sad one. We can’t be losing our highly trained Generals just like that. It is a symptom of a more fundamental malaise in our security architecture. I leave the Government—who are charged with the responsibility of formulating policies for securing the nation— to deal with this issue. We cannot continue to bury our heads in the sand like the proverbial ostrich, while denying that nothing is wrong with Nigeria. Buhari matter na God hand e dey and we the ordinary citizens have no choice but to continue praying for our leaders to get things right, else na yawa we dey ooo. 2 Likes |

BabaRamota1980: You should see me laughing hysterically at your comment. It is so funny. The igbo conundrum is a sad tale of how a resourceful tribe has allowed hate to define and drive their grievances with their mother country. It teaches me a personal lesson to express my misgivings in any situation without recourse to emotions, recriminations and hate. I blame igbo problems in Nigeria on parental indoctrination of hate into their children. If not for indoctrination, I don’t know how this present generation of igbo kids knew so much about a war this generation should not even remember. I didn’t know about this civil war issue until Jonathan’s Government when the igbos came all out for revenge against Yorubas whose present generation went on about things without a care in the world. We didn’t know about any war because our parents never told us about it. We learnt about that stuff on NL politics section(I personally did). The amount of hate propagated by igbos for the last 7 years is enough to power a nuclear reactor. The hate is simply too much and it has damaged Nigeria. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Bane2020: I get laid quite a lot. I have got 99 problems but a pu*sy ain’t one. In fact, I have one of your sisters disturbing me to come over to lekki and have some of that coochie but I am too busy at the moment. My unshakable position is that bridges have been burnt by your ilk and your tribe suffers it in consequence. Also, it would be difficult for igbos to attain Presidency in this country. So why don’t you concentrate on the substance of my submission? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Olril18: I thought you said igbos will get it? Now you have backtracked and walked back from that position. I won’t even respond to the other nonsense you posted up there. For your own sanity, I would advise you to forget about Nigeria’s politics and focus on your niche—which is itinerant trading. Honestly, too many bridges have been burnt and the recipients of your hate and insults won’t forgive or forget what you have done for the past few years. Go back home and redraw your plans. 4 Likes 1 Share |

BabaRamota1980: Exactly! That’s why I am waiting for who the PDP will choose as its Vice Presidential candidate. That will determine a lot about next year’s elections. It is so evident that igbos will harm Yorubas at the slightest opportunity they get and it is so unfair because we are not the one that have done evil against them. All we have done is being nice hosts and neighbors to the igbos. I grew up with many igbos in my compound while growing up and they were not this hateful. The Jonathan Presidency gave them the opportunity to reveal their true nature to Yorubas and I thank God for that revelation of what will befall Yorubas if igbos ever assume the Presidency. We must do all within our powers to forestall that occurrence. We are also lucky that other Nigerians don’t like the igbos so the likelihood of an Igbo Presidency is actually nonexistent. 1 Like |

The Kenyans will not always be there to be the brunt of our frustrations, we would eventually turn on ourselves soon if things continue like this. And talking about being pissed, I am not pissed, I am only concerned for Nigerian youths. You don’t go about assuming your state of mind about others. Safe. 2 Likes |

RevenGeMission: Good of you, cause these igbo guys will wear you out. They were raised on a steady diet of hate and prejudice. Yoruba parents never raised their wards with anti igbo hate, so we don’t have the capacity to hate like the igbos. We only learnt to clap back after being needlessly attacked by this hateful tribe online. Let them continue constituting a nuisance online. Nigerians will handle the rest offline. |

Let’s see where rabid hate and propaganda peddling will get igbos politically. There are millions of yoruba hawks who will get into positions of authority soon enough(I know many) and they don’t like igbos, neither are they politically correct. What that means is that even igbo trade all over Nigeria is not safe. The future indeed looks bleak for these people. Only them can save themselves—by stopping the wanton indoctrination of their kids to hate other Nigerians and investing massively in their homeland. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Bane2020: Lol, I know it’s painful to know that a lawyer can feel this way about your tribe but what can I do in the circumstance? The extenuating circumstance of igbo hate being peddled online by your brothers have radicalized millions in Nigeria. The eastern bar forum even lost the NBA elections to Barr. Paul Usoro from the South South due to the morbid fear of Nigerians for igbo leadership at any level. And you have the audacity to hope Nigerians will allow Igbo Presidency? Over our dead bodies! Bane2020: Let’s see you ascend Nigerian Presidency without the help of the much hated Hausas and Yorubas. Like I have said at different fora, the only hope of igbos lie in Biafra or the restructuring of Nigeria—both of which are attainable only if the igbos divest from different parts of Nigeria and reinvest in the east while retaining her human capital and resource in the east. Anything other than this will ensure igbos remain 2nd class citizens in Nigeria. Heck, I even respect an ijaw and edo person more than igbos. The igbo is only an itinerant trader in Nigeria who over estimates his importance to the nation. Sad for the igbo tribe. 4 Likes |

BabaRamota1980: OMG, Babaramota, God will bless you and all you hold dear. You have spoken the mind of millions of Nigerians by explaining those against Biafra! I have lectured and sought to help the igbos actualise Biafra on this forum for 7 years but what do I get? Hate and insults from the same people who made my yoruba tribe hate me May the Yoruba nation never witness the calamity of an igbo Presidency as that will spell doom for the very existence of the Yorubas. The igbos will make sure they extract their pound of flesh for transgressions Yorubas never committed. Since they have failed to be civil and rational in social discourse and interactions with other tribes, may they continue to be at the backwaters of Nigeria’s political milieu for life! 5 Likes |

Now where are the mods to take this to the front page? Why are the mods contributing the failure of this country? These are the kind of threads that Nigerian youths should be reading so they can deconstruct this contraptive hellhole called Nigeria. I read the whole article and I found it really educating and revealing on the failed status of Nigeria, yes, Nigeria is big for nothing! If there is anything I need from God, it is the grace and Favour from God to take my family out of Nigeria. It is really important for any rational and visionary individual to escape Nigeria. I keep saying it that our politicians are the luckiest and richest in the world because they have a huge amount of docile and lethargic youth population. It’s so glaring that Nigeria is now worse than hell but majority of our youth are not seeing this, they rather partake in a twitter war to insult Kenyas on the basis of skin color.
