That said, you'll observe from my earlier post that I have nothing against this couple in this instance. If I had my way, I would give my own little contribution to support the family. My grouse is mainly with those useless irresponsible folks who keep churning out unneeded babies like insane rabbits and then wait for govt to come to their aid.

I hope you do realize that those benefits don't amount to a lot of money. Trust me that money doesn't go far. When you convert it to naira it seems a lot but that's peanuts when you look at the cost of childcare in the West. This is the reason why it is mostly the less-educated who breed like rabbits.

You don't find it odd how it happens in a society that places such an emphasis on new life whilst not taking care of those already in existence? Why is this not more common in societies with better regulated healthcare industries?

Fertility drugs are not that pricey, clomiphene is less than $40. There are probably others that are even cheaper.

No its not - at least not all of them. The popular clomid is less than 5k for the kit, and multiple births is a known side effect.

You said responsible but this is not responsible. Misusing fertility treatment is not a sign of responsible behavior.

And a degree is not a sign of being responsible - there are lots of single mothers in the western world who either have degrees or are getting degrees. All this despite the fact that children raised in single mother households are invariably at a social-economic disadvantage.

What is it that you're sure on?

Or rather, I'm pretty sure that because of the pressure that many Nigerian women feel to have children, the wife was taking fertility medication.

Whether the husband knew is another question.

Most western governments have been working to cut back on spending by way of austerity which has meant that the amount given to families has been cut and the barrier for entry to such programs has been raised. That is why food banks have become so much more common and essential in many western cities.

In the western world they would end up living in poverty because western governments would only give them the absolute basics - a small home in a horrible area with bad schools and poor employment prospects; a basic food allowance that would be just enough to feed the children. It is these facts that have caused many parents to feed their children the unhealthy, nutrition deficient junk food that has caused a childhood obesity epidemic in the western world.

If the Government assists and both couple are working they will be very comfortable.

Which government takes care of multiples? What are their demographics - do they have large expanding populations like Nigeria or shrinking populations like Japan, Romania or Russia?

Why would the Nigerian FG or state governments look to encourage rapid population growth when the people are doing so already without any idea on how to care for their children?

So never budgeted for. Hence, Government intervention. This is their first pregnancy and they got this. Should they kill them?
If you can't help, leave them alone.

I do not have 5 children nor would I have 5 children because it is irresponsible.

It is completely foolish and irrational what this couple of have done and the fact that so many people on this forum cannot see that is why you keep having to endure 'leaders' who come from within your own ranks and take you all for granted.

Pls kindly help to clarify. When u nominate an occupation say Telecoms Network Engr and get an assessment as positive Engineer Tech. Is there any difference between that and nominating the occupation Engineering Technologist itself? A bit confusing since both are assessed by the same EA.

I got CO contact last week requesting for medicals and and wife's PCC from SUDAN (she had her MBBS from their).
We will be heading to a court in Lagos tomorrow to obtain a sworn affidavit declaring she was of good behaviour during her stay in Sudan. I plan to add this to my reply to CO. Thanks to bellong an Jamson for this suggestions.Deadline to reply CO is 6th of May.
