Allen kee: Is it the school that provides subsidy for foods to be cheap? Because I remember eating at one restaurant opposite the school during Post UTME, the damn stuff no cheap at all ooh grin grin
the student union has subsidized the cost of foods in uniuyo. This only applies to vendors inside the school/hostel premises

ANDREW2EIC: LWKMD! Deliverance ke deliverance ni! Abegi, wetin u wan make us yarn?
Anyways, I sat for electrical electronics engineering(EEE). In my hall, we were 110 candidates going for the same course, though EEE aspirants were up to 1000+ in total . We were all sitted around 11:00am, 2 persons per seat. After much time wasting, the exam finally got started around 12:00pm or thereabout.

As an engineering aspirant, I took 4 subjects which are English, Maths, Chemistry and Physics. The English comprised three parts, comprehension, antonyms/synonyms and lexis and structure. The comprehension was Jamb-like i.e the passage was lengthy. The questions were normal and I just did my best there. The next part was antonyms/synonys which I can easily regard as the simplest of them all. The questions on this part were a mere walk-over for me. The last part was lexis and structure. The questions from this part were normal and I did my best.

The next subject was Maths, though I ran passed it with my power bike simply because I was being circumpect of the 1hr given. So, I moved to Chemistry. I was pleased with the questions I saw there because almost all the questions were Jamb extracts. It didn't take me much time to finish it.

With Chemistry gone, I ran to Physics which was just on the same level as Chemistry. It was mostly made up of Jamb past questions. I was really impressed I studied my Jamb past questions very well. It didn't take me much time as well.

Thereafter, with some minutes left, I went back to Maths. Uniuyo really did their worse with the Maths questions they gave us. It wasn't further maths, it wasn't ordinary maths, it was just maths. Nobody was really smiling at the questions while solving. All the same, God was just my strength. I solved the much I could, and when it was time for submission, I did what I call "fill in all blank spaces"#smiling#.

Finally, the exam was a huge success. No problem encountered before and after exam and no one misbehaved in my hall. I left the hall satisfied and impressed with my performance. All thanks to the Almghty God. Hope for an excellent result.
Lol. Uniuyo just gave u all a fore-glance of almighty "Maths 111". Welcome to the great fountain of knowledge....#winks#
EducationRe: Convenant University Convocates 144 First Class by REUBEN010(m): 1:39pm On Jul 29, 2013
matrixme: We like deceiving ourselves alot in this country. We never reason from both sides of the coin, we just assume. I think many of the people defending this monstrosity are either church goers or private university products. I wonder if you guys would stand a chance in today's dog-eat-dog Nigeria. Anyway, your strength lies in the private sector. I am a privileged product of a public University of Technology here in Nigeria, FUTA, and I know the worth of my own education. It is not half-baked like many of you in privately owned institutions think. I worry the system of education in this country has been bastardised with money: Summer semester to run carry over courses, (thank God I heard that has been cancelled) Excessive first class from products that entered the system with 160 UME score and other eyesore. I am not being discriminatory here, but it's in the soon coming future that the repercussions would appear. We can all stand and watch.
thanks so much for ur post. Unlike this century, it's very difficult getting first class honours in the 2O century even with the caliber of lecturers then. To me, i think the quality of education is dwindling. Or hw can u explain over a 1OO first class in just one session.
Na beanshuh
EducationRe: Nigeria: 118 Students Graduate From Unilag With First Class Honours by REUBEN010(m): 3:32pm On Jul 25, 2013
fork adict: I can only make one conclusion from your post and that is you have never been to other First generation universities to study hence Unilag to you being the alpha and Omega of tertiary education in Naija.

Fallacy 1: according to the trash you cited as fact number one in your post, other first generation universities are what? Non urdan unis? I guess you must be working in the Fed min of Education for you to know that the best secondary schools in the country are in lagos. Dude, you are mistaking quantity for QUALITY. lagos might have the highest number of secondary schools in the country but I disagree that the best secondary schools are in lag. unless you provide valid and credible evidence to prove otherwise, please hold your peace.

I just might agree that your fact#2 encourages students to make 1st class cgpa but then for 118 to make 1st class degerees? Guy your school is making a mockery of the 1st class degree.

Fallacy #3: Here, you try to provide a direct relationship (where there is none actually) between the number of students found in a school library at any point in time or the number of religious students with the number of students that make 1st class degress. This is inconclusive cos while i was in school, i Knew many students who virtually had the school library as their hall of residence and at the end of the day, they couldnt even graduate with a 2:1. so what are you saying?

fallacy #4: Wifi no be new thing guy. many schools have that in abundance.

Fallacy number 5: How will Unilag not be the most preferred University in naija when most ladies believe that Unilag studentship will improve your social status and will enhance your chances of hooking aristos. My point is that students preferring Unilag to other institutions might be attributable to a wide variety of reasons e.g wannabe music stars, models, even drug courriers (and they are not in small numbers) will want to school in Unilag so that they can conveniently combine their education with their hustling. students preffering Unilag to other Unis in the country has very little to do with academic excellence.

Fallacy number 6: I dont know much about OAU cos I've only been their briefly. Besides it's an unfair comparison you made by comparing Unilag with OAU based on geographical location. Why not compare Unilag with another school located in a metropolitan area e.g UI? then I may respond to this in detail.

FYI. I repeat that first class is reserved for geniuses. I recommend 0.1% of any school's student population. But if we consider the ready availability and abundance of knowledge, a handful of other students may struggle to make the grade. Let's say that these other students constitute 0.4% or more liberally speaking, 0.9%. My argument is considering all factors in totality, the population of students that may graduate with 1st class in any Naija Uni should not be in excess of 1%.

All of us know say Unilag na BUSINESS CENTRE na. their certificate na 3 for ten naira! No be beef! Go Figure!
I support ur points xpecially #5. Personally, i knw of some studnts who prefered unilag cos of high chances of combinin academics wit huzzlin. Pls no offence. Jst giving my observatns.

Can someone please tell us why so many UNIUYO Post UTME candidates were unable to see their results last year? So we can avoid same mistakes.
Couldn't secure admission last year into UNIBEN cos my result was not release, I really don't understand why they did not release it.
jst follow all the instructions on the o.m.r answer sheet. Shade your name, jamb reg no, exam no and the rest correctly.
After doin these, you are good to go. Welcome to tusker republic. Wish you all success.
