HealthRe: Why You Should not get eye drops without prescription by rexbuton(op):
EYE WHITENERS

Most of us complain that our eyes are not white or our eyes are red and we want clean eyes etc And the chemist guy gives us Visine eye drops to use. Firstly, most of our eyes are not white and they are not red either. The discoloration is often due to fat deposits . Visine (tetrahydrozoline) is a vasoconstrictor, it makes your blood vessels narrow to reduce blood flow. Visine would only work if you are having a real red eye or an acute red eye otherwise you would just be wasting your money and if you use it more regularly to get faster results you could be putting your self at risk.
Visine makes your eyes dilate more and this could put you at risk if you are prone to having glaucoma ( Narrow ange). Also, leaving Visine lying around could prove costly as ingested Visine is poisonous and fatal in children.

HealthWhy You Should not get eye drops without prescription by rexbuton(op):
There is the theory that eye ailments are minor after all the eye is small, and can easily be handled by retail pharmacists/Drug shops. This assumption however is very incorrect, could be extremely costly and is fraught with so many dangers that I would like to go over.

THE CHLORAMPHENICOL ELIXIR
Most of us have had a sudden red eye, teary eye, painful eye, dull eyes etc and went to the chemist guy who gave us CHLORAMPHENICOL and the symptoms vanished. In truth, if you had visited the doctor there is a very high chance that he would have given you the same thing. BUT he would consider many factors before hand, factors that the chemist man is often unaware of. Such as examining the pattern of redness, the nature of the discharge , your current medication and your hematological state. Your doctor would also tell you how long to use the drops; it is also a known fact that incorrect use of drops is the major cause of Antibiotic resistance, which in turn ranks very high in the list of problems faced by healthcare professionals worldwide. Bone marrow depression ( reduction in the production of Red blood cells) is also caused by chloramp abuse.
CHLORAMPHENICOL is not a cure for all ills, it is an antibiotic. Just an antibiotic!

STEROIDS
Steroids (corticosteroids) are a class of drugs that mimic the action of a natural hormone, CORTISOL. The basic thing that these drugs do is to lower inflammatory signs and agents hence their ubiquity. Pain, heat, swelling, redness and loss of function are the signs of acute inflammation. Using steroid eye drops would rapidly reduce these symptoms , sounds too good to be true?? So you walk into the chemist shop, complain. of anything and he gives you steroids, you go home and all is well, initially. He doesnt tell you when to stop or how to stop, or even what it could do to you..
Our immune system is also part of the inflammation cycle, therefore suppressing inflammation would suppress your natural defense too, so if your eyes had an active or even a dormant infection at that time, that simple steroid drop could cost you your eyes and happiness.
Even worse is if the eye had a fungal infection mostly from plant injury as often seen in farmers and agric industry staff, then the eyes are gone.
Nowadays we have steroid-antibiotic combinations to reduce the risk of bacterial colonization but do the chemists teach us how to use them? All natural hormones cannot be stopped suddenly, instead the dose should be reduced gradually over time or by reducing the frequency of administration, but most of us stop as soon as the symptoms cease. Doing this can stop your body's own production of that hormone.
Long term steroid use has been implicated in the development of cataract. I've seen a lady who had been on steroids since 1997, the clinical findings were textbook material. Steroids also increase the eye's pressure and this can make you develop Glaucoma.
Only use steroids with proper supervision.

Funny topic.

Love your dp girl. What's the story behind it? Pray do tell...

Anyway, back to the "issue" on hand - it could be that the seams of your pants weren't securely sewn in and are coming apart or loose. On the other hand, it could be that either your pants are a size or two too small for you, or you've put on weight.
But I'm a guy nah..

the pants actually tear.. I've decided that they are too tight

My Dp is about Portuguese Visitors to Benin in around the 15th century. Easy to infer from their dresses.

Who is Haile Selassie in history. Which job he finished?
Haile Selassie was a man who was told by his father's second wife that he could not make it in life and would never buy a car, but he struggled so hard and fought for his rights and that of his family against govt oppression. it was he who invented Colour

Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Nigerians Disbelieve T.B Joshua, Chris Okafor's Miracles? See Reasons by rexbuton: 11:10am On Feb 14, 2016
@Acidosis I don't know Chris Okafor, but I've watched TBJ many times

TBJ has been enveloped with controversy since he began his ministry. I'm not going to judge him, I'll just x-ray one or two brief facts.
According to Matt 7.16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
when TBJ was fairly new, Okotie Chris came out with allegations that TBJ practiced occultism and had dealings with OOU. TBJ never denied them, his church members made videos claiming that he was sexually abusing minors. Shortly after, the PFN published a letter describing him as Anti-christ. i would like to assume these are all propaganda since there was no convincing publicly available proof.

Fast forward to his building collapse, he claimed a strange jet was responsible, not long after, he claimed it was BH. He even provided footage of the strange jet, no one else saw that jet. The controversy that followed was fueled by his attempt to bribe (or monetarily motivate) a journalist investigating the happenings, then NANs came out to protest that the building collapse should not be probed, on what grounds? Finally the report came out, showing that the building was not done according to approved plan. All these from TBJ.

Then the occasional celebrity deliverance sessions (readily available on youtube) look like stage plays. From Jim Iyke's to the man who claimed to be Lucifer himself. Tell me, can Lucifer be delivered? And most thought provoking are his post-prophecies, he has a penchant for retrospective prophesying which doesn't make sense at all. Recently I watched one of his documentaries, they took us on a tour of his early life and childhood, all recorded. They even took us to the school he attended as a child, with his name still on the register, and showed us the desk he used to sit, with his name also on it. Such amazing mysteries of preservation.

With all these, people are just wary of the guy.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Nigerians Disbelieve T.B Joshua, Chris Okafor's Miracles? See Reasons by rexbuton: 10:35am On Feb 14, 2016
But atheists and satanists spend more time attacking Christians than they spend on themselves. Christianity is not the problem with Nigeria, the government doesn't emphasize religion or claim that it is going to solve our problems. The average Nigerian believes in a God, and that is his personal affair. He doesn't force anyone to join him, even when evangelizing or witnessing, if you bluntly refuse or chase them away, wouldn't they leave? If Christians sow seeds or pay tithes or first fruits , is it your business?
I believe i was created from dust, good. You believe you descended from apes, even better. Nobody is hurt, at least we still ended up being alive.
Lets focus on tackling Nigeria's issues instead of slinging dirt at ourselves over private issues
