Macelliot:All the yoruba fragment groups never claim they are yorubas or see it as a big thing.. The ikares, illajes, eguns, ijebus and all the others see demselves as who they are! They don't come out on Tv to claim lagos or ondo because of oil or any reasons.. But u guys transport urselves from the east and start claiming the midwest.. Easterners don't like ebonyi state d way dey like rivers and delta just because of oil! If u really love anioma why have u never supported their bid for anioma state? In all the fora that the issue has been discussed igbos distance themselves claiming that anioma state would be an extra southsouth state.. In the whole country no group is more befitting of a state than anioma, yet u all turn blind eyes and come round to claim dem as ur own |
Macelliot:Not a long epistle.. You should read more often! |
Chiwude:See I no get una time.. My mama na from oza-nogogo, I dey speak d language wella any weather. But my argument remains that you can't claim areas instead allow dem have a referendum.. One involving verified people from that ethnic group .. From una arguments anybody wey share boundary with una na Bleep- igbo.. Assuming say na igbos dey abuja we for dey get bwari-igbos, fulani-igbos, hausa -igbos, kanuri - igbos! Please respect the singularity and self determination of every tribe! Proximity is not relationship |
PrinceBundu:ok here is a confused boy... myklangelo:ok.. here is a smart guy looking for ways to make money with the Biafra agitation mikeapollo:actually very sad because sweden has been a peaceful country with very little racism, but recently pro-democracy groups have been calling for a drastic reduction in the number of immigrants from Africa! This same sweden had been giving out scholarships to indigent african students.. i hope these events are unconnected I am a nigerian and i support biafra so much, these people have been ridiculed and made scapegoats so it would be interesting to observe how prosperous they will become and the old Nigeria in tears begging for forgiveness from the Igbos. This thread also made me realise that the Igbos knew Abraham and Isaac even before the Missionaries came.. really enlightening |

NAIJASOM:How can somwone with ancestors names efeizomo, obaigbena, okundaye and egboba be an Igbo man? Are these Igbo names? As the lineage traces backwards the names get more specific to a particular tribe, can't u see that u guys are devoid of logic? That kind is obviously leaving something out or he doesn't know his history.. So the binis gave them new names because they went to help them fight? How long did the Idah campaign last? The binis blocked the fulanis at idah river and made statues, after the fulas shot arrows at the statues for long and they didn't fall , they ran back.. The defense force did not pursue for long.. It was the kogi tribes who tool the battle personal.. There are records! So the time frame is too short to have converted these 'nri kings' and gave them new names |
From the way barcanista spelt Oba Eweka I instantly knew that it was an Igbo man talking.. The essence of this post of yours is to draw common grounds between the south and the east just as you referred to Bayelsa as old eastern states. In classifying people we do not work based on the government's classification but based on who the people say they are.. The bosniaks, slavs and croats were locked in a country for so long but they never misunderstood the fact that they were just neighbours and not brothers.. Since parts of Imo are oil producing , den good.. Let biafra go away and have Imo as their oil producing area , we don't have to tie all the OPAs together because they have a common resource.. Just follow my plan let's see if the Imo people would allow you use their oil to develop the entire south-east.. Charity shiuld begin at home. All these talk of cutting and claiming should stop.. Barcanista I feel you are too intelligent for what u wrote up there |

This issue of lawmakers salary is extremely important and yet very few people are talking about it. It is regrettable that in a developing country like Nigeria, with a mono economy we have the highest paid lawmakers in the whole world. Our representative earn about N600M annually and our senators earn N1B annually. These figures do not include unofficial monies accrued from ''other sources'' such as kickbacks and bill passage returns. Can we continue to sustain this kind of corruption? How does this scenario put our country in international perspective? This is a country that struggles to pay workers salaries, can no longer afford subsidy coupled with dwindling oil prices yet we can afford to pay 25% of our budget to these people. This is an outrage. By 2011, the Senate’s quarterly “running cost” was jerked to N45 million per member, while the House members received N36 million. A hostile public response subsequently forced the earnings down to what has remained an unclear rate since. Officially, the lawmakers claimed the package was lowered by 63%, but that has been refuted by lawmakers speaking informally. Since then, the Senate and the House have refused to disclose their member’s exact earnings. If such prospect existed, it seemed foreclosed after both chambers tacitly included the National Assembly amongst a number of institutions like INEC, Courts, given statutory allocations from the budget, meaning their funding will no longer subject to an executive or even legislative approval. With that new status came more secrecy, as previously available spending details have been since curtailed from the public. I listened to Mr. Victor Lar , a senator from Plateau state speak on on corruption and the national assembly this morning on radio nigeria, and I was shocked with his blatant defence of the salaries. Let us ask ourselves, is there any meaningful bill that the national assembly has passed in the last two years? Any bill that makes the common man have better living conditions? They only sit and argue then adjourn till another sitting, then they resume arguments! Even when they fight, they fight for their pockets or their parties. From the national assembly to the state assemblies, they fight for their parties and for majority. Mr. Lar said that the senators deserve what is given to them, and do not determine what they get. And that the question of morality is another issue. This is coming from a man who heads an anti-corruption committee. I rexbuton hereby state that Mr. Victor Lar is a thief, and I don't owe anyone an apology. The RMAFC sets salaries for everyone receiving government salaries, including the national assembly but they refused to follow, they challenged it. The president is supposed to have veto powers to overrule issues like this, but they overruled his veto powers. Who are these lawmakers? It is like a child writing an exam and marking his own scripts, we cannot allow the National assembly to run without checks and controls, that is why they kill and maim to get there “It’s a big shame that the lawmakers are the ones that break the constitution and pay themselves the stupendous salaries they take home. When asked about the validity of lawmakers who have pending cases with the EFCC, the thief stated that "as long as you are elected, it is assumed that you have fufilled all the eligibility criteria, therefore your are presumed innocent", imagine that from an educated person.. In reality, in developed countries if you have a corruption scandal, you resign. People even resign for racist or sexual emails that they send to their friends when these emails leak I believe it is time Nigerians begin to re-examine our values system, let us set things right. Soon doctors would go on strike asking for a wage hike, then PHCN generating plants staff, then Judicial staff, even association of Telecoms and Mast watchers. And they all cite the huge packets NA staff take home. The same NA staff that we don't even know. Their parties just conduct primaries and give tickets to the highest bidder, we don't even ask where these people get monies to buy nomination tickets, and they contest, you vote, they leave for Abuja. Bye ! till the next elections, and we don't stop and realise that we are just pawns, central pawns in the power play. Do we really know these politicians? what have they contributed? In my local government area I am ashamed to say that Igbinedion's daughter won the Reps elections, what has she done to merit it? has she held any office before that? We only know about her failed marriage and her family's adeptness in corporate corruption, and yet she won! with a good margin! That is just a small experiment of the Nigerian political landscape! Let us revisit the constitution, let us rewrite it, there are so many areas that encourage corruption, so many extant laws that are either obsolete or inadequate for the new face of corruption. I just hope the Incoming president and Mr. Murray Bruce can live up to the billing, and oppose these agents of destruction in the national assembly who want us to insure their generations instead of developing their country ReXkPiT |
