Is your course a one or two year program? Mine is one year and my study permit is fast approaching expiration.

Sis, I think we are in the same shoes. I'm also taking a one-year program that will expire in April. my hubby applied for SOWP in April last year no update to date. He applied for visiting visa on December 27th he was rejected on Feb 2nd "based on the purpose of your visit", I'm still waiting for the GCMS note. When I consulted a few immigration lawyers and also my college's immigration department, they told me to apply for a study permit extension asap so my hubby can notify IRCC with my updated LOA, if not my hubby's SOWP will also be rejected. If the SP permit is less than 6 months spouse's SOWP or VV won't be considered. 1 yr study is not advisable during this covid period.

Something just came up looking at the screenshot. In addition to what you planned to do, once you apply for the renewal, try and see if you can link your spouse's application to it. There is an option for linking account at the bottom of your IRCC portal when you log in. It works for paper applications, maybe it could work for this.

I would advise you submit your study permit extension (you may mention your spouse's OWP if you want). Then for spouse: under his own application, upload your evidence of application for study permit extension through webform.
If your permit extension is approved before his OWP, again, upload your new study permit through webform.

Pray that the study permit extension comes in as soon as possible so as to update the OWP application.

CIC wont grant OWP when the primary client has 3 months of validity left.

That's why i want to apply immediately, so he can send a webform in regards to my study extension application.

I would advise that you either wait for the SOWP or withdraw it and reapply with your student permit.

Wait for the SOWP do you mean i should also inform IRCC about my study extension application? I plan not to withdraw because starting all over again and the waiting time is scary. In the attachment you posted it's mentioned i can link my spouse application when seeking extension. I'm a bit confused. I would appreciate if you can explain if you don't mind. Thank you.

I am wondering since my current visa is less than 3 months and OWP application is still pending decision, what steps do I take before submitting study extension or after submitting study extension.

I would believe that the provision from PHAC to assist emergency travel has out lived itself.

They just turn everybody down on the basis that you are fully vaccinated. However, they would still collect your money base on say u have to pay a doctor In canada to sign that their form sheet.

When u look at it, its just another means to generate revenue into their country.

Truth be told, people are paying dearly and heavily to be shipped out of Africa.

this is devastating. They also not taking the visitors visa on the new portal as priority anymore.

Fully vaccinated travelers are exempt from travel restrictions. Your spouse does not need an exemption letter.

However, PHAC rejects some of these applications too. If the applicant is fully vaccinated and the health situation is not an emergency, one might get a rejection.

I applied to PHAC they responded that my husband is fully vaccinated and the application is closed. Is it that compassionate grounds application is not for emergency travel for someone in need of support?

Nairalanders please help. i applied exemption through PHAC for compassionate grounds, because myself and my baby we're sick and need my spouse's physical support. Within 12hr he got an email saying " On your application you have indicated that you meet the Government of Canada requirements of fully vaccinated travellers. As such, an exemption through the Compassionate Exemption Program is not required, and your application will now be closed." Anyone understands how this PHAC/ compassionate grounds works?

My people is it that there hasn’t been PPR for a while on this page or people are not sharing their PPR news anymore? My spouse applied in December no updates so far. Do they notify when eligibility starts?

Meanwhile, your dates don't add up but I'll advice that you go about your reapplication first, because it's your status that gives permission to your spouse coming in..

Ppl get SOWP easily .. Getting visa Approval is a product of Gods grace and at the discretion of the visa officer nobody can stop family unification except for low family ties to home country and financial inabilities ... The delay is due to backlog of visa application.

Visitor visa on the new portal...no updates so far. This backlog thingy is worrisome.

Yes i checked this earlier today, 6 months wasn't stated. Idk if anyone has experienced getting SOWP or Visitors visa when SP's study is about to be completed.

Hello Teejay,

As per the bolded, applying for a course isn't just about the number of years but the course that will show career and or academic progression. Now to apply for either master's or PGD/PGC depends on the grade(class of degree) one came out with. As we all know, when you have 2.2 and below, you have a lesser chance of securing admission in masters but a higher chance of admission in PGD. Yes, 2 years gives you 2-3 years PGWP while 8 months(1 year) course gives you only 1-year PGWP.

Now we have seen many instances of applicants after finishing the first year, immediately enrolled for another 1 year and at the end secured a 2-3 years PGWP so is very much allowed to secure 3 years PGWP after doing 2 (1 year) course concurrently. But note that, for this to be possible, you must start your second course immediately after you complete the first course. Not when you finish your first course, you now work small and come back to study then thinking you will get 2-3 years PGWP, no you won't.

This post is so timely, I am currently in this situation. i applied for a one year PGD, i will be graduating on April 2022 also my visa will expire on April 30 2022. I tired applying for a second program May intake 2022 but they are full, i contacted my college and was told only September 2022 intake is available. I checked other colleges most are full and available for September. Can i apply for Sept intake and work till my second program resumes. Thank you.

I guess your best bet is to look for people to share a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment with. In this case, you would be the one to select your housemates, and not the other way round.
I cried severally and at some point started regretting why I even came with my son in the first place, it's well. I wish you the best�

Yes i'm in London. No rent application was filled, all the rejections happened while i was making inquires, most people claim single occupant only, others claim my child is still a baby some housemate work from home.

Hi, please don't be misinformed, you can apply for a Turkish E-visa with a single entry Schengen visa provided the visa remains valid during your visit to Turkey.

Kindly check previous pages it has been addressed severally.

Thanks josephb, i also contacted the Turkish embassy, i was told i can use my single entry Schengen visa. Too bad idk about my travel plans anymore because of the virus outbreak. I hope things get better soon.
