If we are talking about the "jesus" that appears to tell people "special things" either to add to or subtract from canons of scriptures, things that will prove wrong when placed side by side with scripture then it's not from God.

Look at it this way. Why would God want to reveal "something new" to me that is already in scripture, so unnecessary! Or why would He want to tell me something that has no scriptural backing? Or why would I have a special experience with God and still have no desire to study the scriptures?
