Honestly, I don't even know nor have heard of Seun Kuti if not that he attacked Peter Obi. He's the main opportunist, using Obi's name for popularity.
Without sounding disrespectful to the young man... You were not alone.. initially, I thought it was Femi Kuti at least I know that one perfectly...

Just like Yesterday the news of the demise of AKA flooded Nairaland.. I was just wondering if I was on different planet.. I have to google that again to understand what he does and who he was..

I know someone personally that was robbed at gun point with POS and till today her bank said they cannot traced who registered the account /POS.

Also, personally I know of a ATM spot, erected by a microfinance that has rendered many people useless before people stopped using it. Once you slot in your card, input your PIN the next thing he will just swallow your card. It wont be 15 mins before you start receiving debit alert. The machine is located at Akinogun , around Ipaja Lagos.
I believe that the Bank was trying to make that person to run from Pilar to post.. that is the work of a forensic accountant.. not those on the teller
This is how it works
<< Every POS is linked to an account...

<< POS cannot be issued to an ordinary person without a business premises or name of the Business..because when the alert of debit or credit transaction comes, it will specifically mention the business entity U as a customer transacted the business with...

<< Now it is the job of the fraud and forensic accountant to know the movement of the money..

<< If for example u were banking with First bank, and there was a transfer under duress, the bank will tell you which bank issued the POS... Just like you can identify when MTN, Glo or other network called you on your mobile, that is how they got certain digits to know which digits belong to which bank..

<< From there, if they are in collaboration with the other bank, trust me.. u will understand that the culprit will be discovered...As long as it's an online transaction... Forget it when you hear that it can't be traced... It is a lie..

However, I'm not so sure of the fraudulent ATM.. people should make a formal report

I am not saying we didn't make mistakes or we were perfect, but some if not most of us had enough sense within to stop us in our tracks when we were going overboard or starting to really get it wrong. Not only because of that innate ability I mentioned but also because of the training and upbringing received at home and in school.

From the story this boy was surrounded by love and wonderful grand-parents, whom ﹰI sure did good, did right and did well by him, including his mother. I know people can grow and change, but a reconciliation should not be pushed or forced on the mother, if she doesn't want again. Whether the boy changes or not, it is not by force to reunite them or for him to japa to the UK.
I feel U Klass, but if u change your mind about having kids say 8 or 9 of them cheesy, my offer for excursion to check things still stands...🙈🙊🤓

Baba you never hear of armed robber using POS?
POS is a point of sale machine... And every POS is linked to an account in Nigeria... Not abroad account.. U can always discover the name and whose account it was and the business name it was... Simple..You can't be issued a POS without a business to the best of my knowledge

Hmm Richy, you always make me smile sha. At the first bolded, there is nothing new under the sun na, were we not once teenagers oursleves? Were we without an ounce of common sense like this teenager has displayed? It is in every man to know good and evil, right from wrong, we are all born with that innate ability. It can be called a conscience and a guilt conscience is like an alarm that goes off within us, when we have done wrong This boy knew what he was doing, he takes after his father - the apple never falls far from the tree.

2nd bolded - I am shaking my head and saying no, no, no, no to this. Zupay please none of you in your cousin's family should contemplate it. Let your cousin on her own be the one to indicate that she is willing and open to a reconciliation and reconnection. No one should pressure or compel her to do this on their timetable or the boy's pleading, complaints and suffer head. She needs to work this out by herself and reach a decision by herself without undue interference.

Last paragraph - oh I totally agree with you. I like and admire her for the guts it took, to walk away and put herself first. Too many women give up their lives for the sake men (husbands & sons plus children) to the detriment of their souls and dreams. I applaud any woman who has the presence of mind to say, enough is enough in a bad situation after giving it her best and then walking away, to prioritise her well-being and bring back to life dead hopes and dreams.
In my mindset I never believed that I made mistakes as a teenager... But again, that's what every grown up says..
You know how fathers and mothers were almost always at the top of their class... One now wondered who was taking the middle and last positions...

I know that he will change and when he does, they should take him back as the prodigal son...

Klass, I have said it over and over again, any time you have a kid or children.and they clock 8 and above, please invite me. I will really like to see your style of parenting at that stage.. I really really want to check something.. grin cheesy

At the bolded, his father cares for him, he is not alone. His father cared enough to return for him 15 or 17 years later, he cared enough to take the boy into his home with his new family, he cared enough to buy him gifts and treat him nice, so much so that he began to disrespect/dishonour his mother and her family.

I feel no sympathy whatsoever towards this boy, teenager or not, he needs to stay disowned. I am very sure his mother and grandparents would have tried to explain the circumstances of his birth to him and tried to either caution him or appeal to his good sense. He should bond with his father o, after all blood is thicker than water.
Klass most teenagers are confused... Most preferred the easiest part life have to offer.. that is why many are into defrauding people...They are immature and they hated the hard and real part of life..

You and I equally knows that the father doesn't want him.. probably wants to use him to prove a point to the mother...To achieve that, he understands him as a teenager, Went all out by using a local ways of catching a rat.. Throw all his Arsenal.. Shirts, cake, cellphones etc... He knows that what he have in mind will work like magic and it did...

That's why I strongly believed that he has not changed and should be in Nigeria to learn the reality of life and understand the consequences of his actions...

When the time is right and he has proven himself, the uncle will definitely know... And connects him back to his mother's people first.. if they sanction his character and changes, then they can reconnect him with his mother...

I must say though that that woman is courageous... She should be a role model to some women in an abusive relationship as well...Who claimed that they can't leave because of their kids... And as soon as they kicked the bucket, the kids quickly readjusts to the situation..

I will be firmer with him not disturbing me because he can't even dare communicate with any of his mother's siblings because he really made them look foolish...
Be firm with him when issues of UK or joining her mother comes up.. but other than that, please be nice...he is a teenager and they make mistakes...It won't be Ok for him to know that no one cares...U are the only link now between him and his mother's siblings... Apply wisdom on this buddy...

Teenagers of this days are not strong as the '80s and '90s... Every little thing, their mind goes on suicide... Just hang in there for him man no matter how exhausting it might be... That's the ugly and challenging part of being an uncle... I wish that title can be renounced sometimes.. smiley

He got carried away with the gifts and good stuffs the runaway father was dangling before him... And forgot all the sacrifices the mother made..

Very typical of Some teenagers... they like the best things in life.. Not that he was sorry but he heard of UK, and his body is shaking and shivering...

Please let him learn the common basic lessons life has to offer...OP stop pressurizing your cousin... Just take him to a good restaurant, buy him peppersoup and soft drinks, and take him down to memory lane on his mother and Grandparents sacrifices and efforts. How his father denied him etc... and ask him if what he did and how he handled issues was right... Some times it's good to revisit issues like that lest we forget..

Leave him with that guilty conscience... It will make him wiser... Tell him that when you have seen some changes in him, you will know..

lebienconnu:
Funny story, You claimed your wife is very close to God yet you are asking us to tell you wether or not your landlord is using your glory. Why did she not ask God whom she is very close to?

There are many medical reasons than can explain why your wife had still births. Nigeria is one of the global champions of infant mortality rate, Likewise, there are so many economic reasons that can tell us why your neighbours are jobless. I tell you one. While factories are being converted to churches the number of tertiary institutions is growing leading to exponential rate of increase in number of graduates. Do the maths.

I can not imagine how the innocent landlord will feel if he reads your post. God blesses whom He pleases beyond reckon. Like someone rightly said, if, truly, the landlord is using the glory of the four of you and that of your 2 babies that you lost and he is not wining and dining with the likes of Dangote and Otedola, then your collective glory must be infinitesimal, if you know what that means.

While I apologise for my bluntness in this post which, surprisingly, contradicts my diplomatic and rather phlegmatic natural self, I strongly beleive that it is high time we stopped all these backward, baseless and unfounded superstitious beliefs. Many innocent people including children have been killed because someone think they are spiritually responsible for other people misfortunes in life.

You go like long thing o…
Believe me no be long process...
If they start the cashless program...If u want to withdraw huge amount of money, many eyebrows will be raised by the bankers... On what you want to do with such amount when u can always pay anything online... They might feel that you were been blackmailed..

Thieves no go come people house with hope say them go see money... Na just to carry their pot of soup, electronics or their 3310 Nokia..

There will be lots of forensic accountants way go just press kpam.. kpam... And they will know where your money was transferred to within 12hrs... incase you were made to transfer under duress.. Because every POS is linked to an account/ bank

Believe me, it's the easiest... Assuming I haven't experienced it, I would have told you..
