Christianity EtcRe: Nafilat Prayer Times by Riogeese(m): 6:11am On May 28, 2018
Praise be to Allah

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade us to offer naafil prayers at certain times.

These times include the period from after Fajr prayer until the sun has risen and become high, which is until approximately fifteen minutes after sunrise.

where a person stands and offers a voluntary prayer to Allaah after Fajr. This kind of prayer is disallowed (at this time).

As for prayers for which there is a reason, such as greeting the mosque, the Sunnah prayer after wudoo’, two rak’ahs following tawaaf and so on, these may be done when the reason for them is present, even if that is at a time when other naafil prayers are forbidden.

Your answer is NO

PoliticsRe: Politics Without Hatred, A Way Forward In Nigeria by Riogeese(m):
Political instability is the problem in Nigeria.

First we need to define political instability to be actually sure there’s one in Nigeria

According to world bank, the standard definition of political instability is the propensity of a government collapse either because of conflicts or rampant competition between various political parties.

Using this definition, there is actually political stability in Nigeria because as much as there’s rampant competition between the various political parties, it hasn’t in no way affected our democracy.

Although, the political parties are partly responsible for the fragments of political instabilities that might be showing. If you ask a lot of politicians, they don’t know the political ideology of their parties. That’s why there’s a lot of decampment between politicians in Nigeria.

Let’s take Abubakar Atiku for instance. As much as i love him for being a successful private business man, his political life has been full of deep instabilities. He has switched political parties like a man who has who multiple personality disorder. APC is a center-left party that hugely has a thing for socialism. On the other hand, the PDP is a neoliberal party with patches of social conservatism but also has a thing for capitalism.

How can we now take him seriously when he doesn’t even know the ideology he wants to follow.

That’s the problem with other politicians in Nigeria. They don’t know what they want so when they get into power, fragments of their many travels starts to affect them making them unaware of the particula route to go through.

Also, with the recent calls of secession from the SouthEast and South-South, there’s been close to little or no political instability as these two issues haven’t had any serious immediate or ripple effect on our sovereignty. We still maintain political control over every area in the country, we still maintain diplomatic ties to all our allies. The only issue raised was the illegal imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu which was the only issue that was about to destabilize our political space as calls came locally and internationally for his release.

As for those calls, the government came up with a solution to restructure the country and give some autonomy to the regions which has quelled the calls for secession a little.

Another index for political instability is how free and fair the country is. In 2015, we achieved something no other country in Africa had achieved. A peaceful transition of presidential power from the incumbent party to another was a big thumbs up for our democracy. The winning party came into the most stable democracy in Africa. Whatever they’ve done with it, it’s to be judged individually.

Then it should also be pointed out that our politics is that emotional sentiments which divides the country. The 2 biggest parties (apart from the different ideologies) hold different areas of the countries due to mostly ethnicity & religion. In the SouthEast, APC is a party disliked by many because it’s a party with very few Igbos. The PDP is also a minority in the SouthWest due to the same reason.

Then there’s the chief issue. Corruption. According to Transparency International, we are the 148th most corrupt country in the world (out of 180 countries). This is really worrisome for our country because it shows that a lot of things happening in Nigeria are motivated by corrupt practices.

Now, whether Nigeria is politically unstable, that’s for you to decide but i think we are doing just fine. We aren’t doing great or doing terrible. We are just fine
