MERCHANDISER: Western media has made everything non_western evil. We need to sit down and look at it logically. Nigeria has been struggling to fight BH for decade, US has never shown any genuine support, infact, at a time they're were technically supporting BH by blocking every opportunity to access weapons. Whereas, the same US has been building sophisticated millitary bases all over Africa with several billions of dollars even all over islands in Africa. In a continent struggling to provide as basic thing as clean water, road, edu, etc. In term of infrastructural development, US hasnt built anything tangible anywhere in Africa despite her big economy and influence. On the other hand, China is building projects across Africa from electricity to train to Airport, roads, scholarships to Africans, etc even with their own money. Let's say we can't pay and they take over them, who would still be using those infrastructure, Chinese? At least they brought them here, so if we can't pay back and they take over them these things would still be in use by Africans and improve quality of life, just like every private business. US/Trump that everyone is supporting call Africans all kinds to unprintable names, visa ban, reporting weak sides of African nations and continuously ridiculing everything we do. The list is long. China hasnt done any of these yet, western media still find their ways into the hearts of Africans to hate Chinese. Sadly, enough some fake pastors joined this brainwashed citizens. Look at China, how many times have they tumbled African govt? How many nations have China invaded in Africa? How many times has Chinese embassy criticize our local affairs? Etc New York started have underground train in 1809, that's 200yrs, they never extended such to Africa. China started booming just 20yrs ago and they've extended everything technology they have to us, that have improved our lives; From phones, train, Good Airport, Naval ship, Telecom, Roads, scholarships, etc Africans must sitdown and think. China is not your enemy. Chinese government a somewhat authoritarian system of government. Her lack of cooperation with international community led to this pandemic. And the pandemic is far from being over Now let’s turn to help Nigeria in getting weapons? Nigeria is hobbled by a slow and ineffective judicial system, unreliable dispute resolution mechanism, insecurity and pervasive corruption. So how do you expect the United States to Nigeria? In case you don’t know, those weapons could get into wrong hands |

kastgeraldino: Yes. I would advise those having issues with GMAT to take GRE. I've taken both, and it took me not that much effort to ace GRE with 99%ile on both quant and verbal. But GMAT is a real beast both the quant and verbal. Just that I loved the intellectual challenge of GMAT even though it was a real battle. I know some Africans who got full funding into top 50 MBA programs but they did well on GRE. Bros I hail ooo Even with the relatively high time allowed in GMAT |

With the current pandemic situation I will probably have to defer the admission. My question now is will the scholarship be withdrawn from my admission if I decide to defer it to next year? Scholarship, GA are subject to changes. In other words, nothing is guaranteed. However, email your grad coord. Safe bro |

Northeastern: Y’all are conversant with cases of crimes committed by Nigerians because it’s your country. Everyone knows that Indians are the undisputed number one when it comes to criminal acts in the U.S and Canada. From my experience, they’re the worst set of people on earth. Employers know them as liars because they claim what they’re not on their resume.
A friend once asked an analytics guy of how to get an analytics job post graduation, the only advice he was given is to never lie like Indians. They are number one in exam malpractices in the U.S. Go to YouTube and search for Indian scammers and you’ll be amazed of how many videos are there. In fact, there are many YouTube channels focusing on those scammers
Is it Mexicans and drugs you want to talk about or MS 13 gangs from Central America? Long story short, if crimes were to be used to restrict entry to the U.S, the hammer will fall on India, first, and many others before getting to us. Insightful comment! At least an holistic point of view Even some Chinese would stay back, work and stealthily be working for “their” government. Stealing US government information. |

LagosismyHome: New york I will say it down to public transport. Cities that have good public transportation with a good number of passengers using it, usually will get hit the most. Especially a sickness that needs social distancing... in the earlier weeks when coronavirus was unknown. You can imagine how widely it traveled due to packed trains
It's the same with UK that has a very good public transport system that is always so jammed packed..... some trains in London in the mornings are so full, u cannot even turn and so close to each other. The virus had enough play ground to travel hence why UK has the highest number in Europe. I couldn’t agree more. Little wonder Boris Johnson is very much concerned about their public transport... they’re trying to make changes to it. Let’s see how it’ll pan out |

Predstan: 100% correct boss.
I know the USA is not doing good but still, they have the highest number of tests in the world. I was at the testing centre a week ago and i can tell you, its a drive through centre. Anyone can go in and do the test. Currently, America has close to 7 million tested samples with close to 1.5million cases.
If any country tests as much as the USA, they will have as many cases as the USA. Radical testing will unveil more cases of the virus. Taking the Uk as an example, The Uk hits 100k daily testing on the first of May, what happened to the cases, an increased number of confirmed patients, and an increased number of death tolls. I implore you to go check out France.
Now going back to Africa, Senegal, Ghana and South Africa including Rwanda were able to carry out radical testing that is relative to their population, yet the confirmed cases haven't so increased compared to the rates it has in the European countries.
I will implore you to base your analysis on the number of tests and repeated tests carried out in these countries, you will realize what I'm trying to say. Europe as a continent with only 700million people have the highest number of deaths officially recorded than any other continent.
Trump is a case but we can't underrate the efforts they have put against this virus because of one Clown. Insightful! A different perspective, I love your analysis. CoVid 19 is a brand new strain virus... we are still learning In all, is the travel rate to Africa as high as the rate to Europe or America? There are still many factors that may account for the discrepancies... There’s a reason why New York is worst hit in US... |

Predstan: Nigeria is actually not the only African Country. I was very careful to mention Nigeria because we are not taking the Virus serious in any way. I have been trying to upload a jpg picture to show something but keeps bouncing back. Not sure what's wrong.
Take Hungary for instance, they have only tested about 123k samples with 3300 cases and 436 deaths. Compare it with South Africa with over 350k tests and 238 deaths. I wish i could upload the picture. It's what i found out after a little analysis. Sir, many factors may account for this relatively low confirmed cases and death toll. First off, how quick were they to respond to this outbreak? In answer to this question, South Africa responded quickly. How aggressive is their testing and other containment measures? South Africa responded with even a mobile testing kit, in less than 3 weeks or so they already had 67 testing centres (sincerely speaking Nigeria was having less than 11 testing centres then-Africa’s most populated country). In terms of lockdown, South Africa was extremely strict in this regard. And what’s the impact of all these? Is that you don’t allow people who have contracted the virus to keep spreading it. That’s being proactive Time will come Nigeria Government might just be overwhelmed with the control of a horrible major outbreak that might be looming ahead... President Trump has been bragging lately that America has the largest testing capacity than any other country in the world, a critical analyst asks at what time did you achieve this? South Korea achieve theirs at the beginning of the outbreak-that’s being proactive There’s no magic anywhere, if you respond late you’re giving people the chance to spread the virus... He has successfully turned himself a physician overnight. Prescribing drugs such as the hydroxide chlorine to suggesting of injection of disinfectant into human body. This is not the great United States we know... United States we know set the pace for others to follow... the whole world look up to United States... They have highly intelligent experts Some countries are handling it much more better than others, some are lying with figures, etc. If you ask me, this is the time the world needs to unite to fight the invincible enemy. |

Stevenssen: There are many things that could be in our favour : Young population, Vitamin D + Sunlight exposure, previous vaccine histories. These are speculations, they’re not yet scientifically proven. The virus is spreading at Kano (a hot region)... there are reports of mysterious deaths there. Mortality rate in US is like 5% while Nigeria has 3% (with many mysterious deaths that are not counted as CoVid 19 cases) At South Africa many of them have pre-existing medical conditions such as HIV... yet the virus is not ravaging them, at least, as reported... Too many things we dunno bout the virus (CoVid 19) Coupled with the fact that the testing kits some of these countries are using are not reliable and that some cases are deliberately underreported |

Predstan: I had the same opinion and people argue this with me. I believe the Covid-19 is not deadly as painted by the media. We have to learn to live with it because its not going soon or anytime. We cant continue to close down countries for months. People will die of hunger than of the virus.
Self-isolation and Quarantine should be for the vulnerables. I am currently scrapping some datas online. I want to see the age range of the majority of people that died of the virus.
On the other hand, Look at the cases in Africa, do you think that's normal? Under-reporting or the virus cant survive? Nigeria for example has only tested less than 35000 people with confirmed cases just above 5000 This implies one out of seven being tested has the virus. In Nigeria there have been record of mysterious death ... that tells you the virus has a foothold here too. As regard underreporting, that might be true. Even China, UK and Russia underrepoted their cases. It’s not in our best interest to lockdown our economy for too long neither is it healthwise to reopen the economy rematurely. A dilemma that governments, business leaders and medical experts are struggling to deal with.

Based on what we know
Bill Gates and Dr Fauci are confident that scientists will soon get vaccine to eradicate this virus.
Dr Fauci believes that since many are recovering from CoVid 19, it won’t be that difficult to get a vaccine for it.
However, the timeframe is what’s important to governments, business leaders and even the households. |

Wow, a lovely write-up there @mvem
I couldn’t just agree more to the last paragraph. There is no significant evidence that the lockdown is effective
This is a brand-new strain virus that what we don’t know is far more than what we know.
Despite all of the reporting, noise, “expert analysis”, modeling, etc.... precious little is known about CoVid 19 from a public health and business perspective.
To protect health care systems from being overrun (flattening the curve), policy makers set direct containment measures such as social distancing and massive business closures were implemented around the world to reduce the spread of CoVid 19
But we don’t yet know how truly effective the direct containment measures have been to achieving this goal.
We know that viruses can and do mutate but we don’t know when and how CoVid 19 could and would mutate; and, how that would impact the development of a vaccine.
In order to offset the economic fallout from the closures and lockdowns, governments are undertaking a gradual re-opening of many sectors but we don’t know if firms that reopen will be able to sustain themselves in this new environment.
Given what little we currently know-and how much we don’t know-it appears that unless there are significant learnings about CoVid 19 governments and business leaders might continue to struggle to minimize the ravaging effect of CoVid 19. |

Eniolakiite: Lol not that
Most services are extending their expiration date. Canada that you must use a period to do some things if you’re processing your PR have extended the time and made things easier this period. It would be wrong to allow millions of students pay sevis fee again when it was the pandemic that didn’t make them use it. So they would adjust it.
That’s what I’m saying. Enny! Enny!! What’s your discipline? I just like your normative view bout this issue. |

I think January might be resumption date I learnt that should F1 Visa issuance continue to be on hold till resumption, students might have to take courses online if offered by the department or defer admissions (in the space of at most one year) In other words, whether or not Embassy reopens on time; schools will continue to run their programs. My prayer is that the pandemic subdues in few weeks. |

Few weeks later, only to be taken-aback by the devastating effect of the virus.
