What is the size of the fishes?

My chairman, the surprising thing to me is that they were put same-time (Tuesday last week) but some are 7cm, 6cm,5cm, and some 4cm.
Even the 2mm some eat it when it has soften. Pls will it still give them the required nutrient?

All in the same earthen pond.

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

As I changed from that Coppens to Durante 2mm some of the fingerlings are not eating, I don't know whether it's too big for them

it is possible. those ponds that are more exposed to sunlight will have a higher pH. so it depends on sunlight exposure.

Sorry chairman for the late reply, it's an earthen pond and it's about 15*40ft in dimension.
And I stocked 4,000. Please the Ziegler feed I have searched for it in Benin Edo State and I
Can't find it. Only Coppens, Durante and vita that is gotten. Please let me know the stages/measurement of
feeding them I just started today with 0.5mm.(Coppens). Sir your good advice will be highly appreciated.

Greetings my people.
After one fish jumped out, abt 3days later, another one also jumped out despite that I reduced their water. When i saw d fish, i killed it, cut immediately and put in d fridge cos I was rushing off to work. I enjoyed the peppersoup in the evening.
I started covering the 3/4 of the pond with net every night. I stopped covering them when I noticed foam on top the water which I felt was a sign of lack of oxygen.

The fish will be 4months 2week by Monday ( from day I stocked). They are due for harvest, but I am waiting for their bag of feed to finish b4 I sell. It may be in one to 2weeks. Mycolleague/mentor will help me during sale.

Somehow, I feel I will not recover my money cos I had lots of mortality. But the experience was worth it.

Started selling and dammmmm, the iya oloja experience you guys described here is not as worst and bad as I experienced yesterday. I also had to begin to call on Jesus name. Two pumping machines malfunctioned.

Still sold in the end but had to return some of my fishes after I shouted on one.

I sell small sha. Still selling.

Meeeen, it was time taking, challenging and common it's was not funny.

Help! I noticed that whenever I feed my fishes at a spot they scamper and rush the feed to the extent that they choke each other and wound themselves. Like yesterday while I was feeding them, they clustered around at one spot, by the time they finished eating, I saw about 5 of the big ones with deep cuts on the head and bodies.. How can I prevent such cannibalism? Will the wounded survive the cuts? I just tire walahi... Since last 3weeks I've been trying to save my fishes from skin peeling, and now this!

Good evening to all farmers. I am a fish farmer from Bauchi. after several instances of harvesting and making profit, i now stocked 8,000 juveniles in my farm. I am also hoping to hatch next week.
considering the huge quantity of feed that 10, 000 fish will consume when they grow up from 60 days and above, i decided to prepare my local feed. I want my colleagues here to help describe a reliable formula for me to use because i have little knoledge on that. i have soya beans cage, GNC, fish meal available.
i need your help please.

You need to make use of coppens at least for 1 and a half month



After which you switch over to local feeds(2mm size). Here is the formula that I used in my farm and I can confirm to you authoritatively that I can boast of fish weighing between 2KG to 2.5KG within four months, 1 week.



FM (Danish) 72% 40
Toasted Soya 20
GNC 20
Indomie or biscuit 20
Premix 1
Lysine 1
Vit C 200grams
DCP 1
Molasis 10
Floxinor 1
Salt 1


Sorry, I don't use maize, cassava flake, koko garri, Wheat offal, rice meal, pKC or what have u.



I used the above formula for 3 and half month after which I change to;



FM (local) 20
Broiler starter 50
GNC 40
TS 40
Flour 30
Indomie 20
Premix 1
Lysine 1
Vit C 150grams
Salt 1
Molasis 10
Floxinor 1



Please note that floxinor is just a kind of antibiotics to prevent them from illness or sicknss so to say.


You must also avoid excess salt because it will reduce the weight of fish since salt itself is medicinal in nature.
