Sabadon:There is no relationship between a dress code and a uniform, please. While dress code is a guideline of conformity and provides people with some options, wearing uniforms is just stiff. And if truly, this is a conscious attempt at instilling any kind of professionalism whatsoever, then it is pathetic, myopic and a band aid solution to a much bigger problem. Problem of not just the student, but of the teachers as well. |
I'll tell you what happened. He grew up in the village, that's what happened. All those village schools just promote students through the classes, even write answers on the boards for them to copy and pass junior and senior waec. Then for jamb, special centres come to the rescue. That is what happened. Now, there's probably nothing wrong with him, medically. He is just too old to start learning languages. Just as you might find it difficult to learn Dutch at this your old age. If shame will let him, he should postpone getting a tertiary degree and go for extramural reading lessons in some sort of adult education centre, that will have that feel of inclusivity for people like him. |
danilmo:It's okay. Congrats on getting in. |
danilmo:What about quota system? Infact, which Uni are you talking about? Tell me first. |
danilmo:Look away, if you cannot stand a truth please. You don't buy data for me. You come online to sell stories that would make potential students, lackadaisical in their pursuits of admission and you think you are helping anybody? The All abi Almost All of you in your class, should keep lying to yourselves. |
ARCHEMEDESME:Which school was yours? And what happens when there are more students who passed the cutoff mark, than there are these slots, you talk about? |
Mason360:Well, if you say so. I did not attend Unilag or have any close person that did, so I wouldn't want to argue blindly. But most Federal Universities? I don't think you should give people false hope either. The Unilorin, OAU, Uniben, FUTO, FUTA, Unical, Unijos that I know, will not give you admission, just because you made the cut. If anything, the "connect", will even ask if you did make the cut, to make things easier with the button pressing. That same Unilorin, back in 2001, delivered my sister's admission letter via a postman on our doorstep. Go and try that now --As in, write jamb, fill Unilorin, get 300 and don't find anybody to push for you (with emphasis on competitive courses). It will shock you. |
The reality is that Nigeria is a terrible place to be. He may not even get admitted with a score of 280, without knowing nobody. Admission based on merit, has since been dead and buried. Worse still, is that when they finish with their man-know-man and you interact with some of them that they push to become the dokitas, you won't be able to differentiate them from native doctors. |
kangminhyuksho:No two ways about that one. The Thailand was even written in the description box. It was my eyes that refused to see it. I also forgot that someone once said that Thailand and some other Asians' works were also classified as K-drama, so I wasn't in an active lookout for country of origin. Then again, had it been interesting, I still would have thought that it's the Thailand version that everyone was going crazy about. descarado:I read that this drama has promise too. I will get there, eventually. |
kangminhyuksho:Really? I admit to noticing little translation inconsistencies in dramas sometimes sha and I catch myself saying - oh, I think they meant to say this and that... But they should take it easy with this titling discrepancies abeg. I didn't suspect anything with this drama at all. The Thai version was exactly, "My Love From Another Star" and it comes up first in search results. It was while watching one of those YouTube drama lists, that I saw familiar Korean faces and they called it, "My Love From The Star". Then I ran a search on Kissasian and saw the right faces against the "You, Who Came From The Stars", while still tagging My Love From Another Star" as one of its titles.. The experience was just crayzy. I kept wondering what is wrong with people, that is not wrong with me. The Thai version is nothing to write home about...even though their ladies are drop dead gorg. I have now also taken note of that I Remember You, cos it's on my list. Thank you. |
Ohh I'm so relieved that I now have another chance to prove myself wrong. Kangminhyuksho, you know I told you that I was seeing something like a season two for "My love from another star"? It's the Thai mockery of the drama and I fell for their trap! You guys should've warned me. I barfed through the episode one, which was the only episode I could take, while wondering why people would rate or recommend it at all. I only just found out on youtube that the original is totally different and mostly goes by the title, "You, who came from the stars". Original ownership is even a subject of debate, as I hear that the Chinese are also in the mix. The Korean version, I hope anyway, should be good enough to sooth this ache that those Thai people have left in my heart, with their ntoing toing toing language. Then what's up with kdramas having multiple titles? |
tunapawizzy:Very unbiased opinion. You should be a judge. |
Have you resumed posting in the wrong sections again? |
But it's a simple question that he did not give an answer to. Would he like the same thing to be done to his daughter? |
Lol. Okay na. Congrats on the watch, all the same. At least, you have ticked another box. Unlike a lot of buffs, once my interest wanes for a little more than five minutes, I skip through or forsake the drama completely. I'm disloyal like that. You tried. @captainhoo |
Ahn ahnnn...this is madness! So they think they are wiser than the countries that gave them visas? They even expect somebody's 80year old father to know the nitty gritty of his visa application? Or they don't want agents to feed again. Do all your politicians studiously understand their visa forms before journeying out? This is madness. |
CharisEleos:This is why people leave the church. It's because they don't understand her doctrines. How could you have been born and raised as catholic and yet utter such falsehood? |
You religious extremists are just the worst. Isn't it enough to acknowledge God as God and lead a life, worthy of emulation? Why must he be praying fire fire to tickle your fancy? It's almost as though they feed you hyssops in these your churches, that now make you uppity and think yourselves as deputies of Jesus. How can you even know from your earthy perspective, what is true from the perspective of heaven? Because your pastor tells you so? Or because you know someone who has died and gone beyond, but came back with evidence as regards to what is correct? You better start using your God-given sense and redirect your attention to acts of kindness and charity, justice and mercy. That way, you would both be serving your faith and increasing your flock, far more than beating others over the head with texts and ideas, only you hold so tightly. |
kangminhyuksho:Neverrr! ![]() Let the rejected cornerstones be for theologians. |
kangminhyuksho: sarang60:Ooo...Just warming everybody up. Because I cannot be alone forever. |
All these fine boys you people are posting anyhow...I am watching oo. Hennnnn When I pick one to call my own nau, somebody will coman speak English on top Korean boyfriend for me.. |
captainhoo:He was convinced by that betrayer that he would find interesting people to inspire his new book, at the house. That's the major reason. Others were that he wanted to run away from publicity and that he's renovating his main house. Still zombie-ing about over here...still not gotten over the drama.. |
bukatyne:Woww, you went all in, didn't you? I didn't get the mention at the time you posted, because my moniker's spelt incorrectly. It does look to me like you've done a pretty good job of analysing the characters already and you want to come back with more? Choi, I fear who no fear you. You sure loved the drama. No two ways about that one. She caught his attention from the get go alright, but it probably wasn't love at first sight for him, as I guess we're supposed to believe of the FL. Which is why he initially paid lots of attention to explaining himself/asking for consent before doing anything for her. Who wouldn't sef, after witnessing her kolomental, firsthand, at the backstage, where she wielded a weapon at that escapee that intended to kill his child? I attribute his show of character strength though, to the heavy hand dealt him by life at a tender age and no doubt, his work ethics. Of cos, he quickly upgraded from just being a reasonable somebody to one who's smitten with her. The FL's injured psyche held the reins, but we were made to see that her true nature slips through to the surface time and again, when she pillow fights, prevents fans from antagonising the ML's bro.. etcetera. One positive that accorded her, is that she became gutsy, doing and grabbing whatever she wants by the lapels. Case in point; Fyne boi ML plus baggage; brother, no steady job... They're right for each other, definitely, with each of them cancelling out the other's crase. The bro was the extra that tried to mess up their setting, but las las, God pass am.. The chemistry in the count to three scene is to live and die for. You know I can't sign off, without addressing that titbit nau. It's a perfect ten for me. But I was saddened that after he'd confessed to her and she said that she wanted to turn in, they'd dismissed us with expressions, reminiscent of people who were confused about progress, only to appear in a new scene, boiling tea abi wetin...mscheww. The suggestive transition wasn't properly conveyed jare. I especially love how the resetting or was it condemnation, of the mother's head was captured. Chaiiii...That blow is the truest depiction of high impact. I remember going gaga about the drama, in the first eight or so episodes, but it became drab for a while, but picked up the pace again from twelve, maybe? Can't remember. It's a good drama in all, sha. |
vibre:Preach, brother! An old cliché, but still the truth, until forever. |
captainhoo:It's a good watch, I promise. I would like to read your thoughts on it, too. |
bukatyne:Lol...I will be waiting for that review. And you might want to fit a show with a different theme, between the ones that share the same themes. From personal experience, I begin to make unnecessary comparisons and end up devaluing the work put into one of both contents. I say this, cos I don't want you to wonder why you didn't watch and review it's okay that's love, first ...since it's older and may have inspired newer stories with similar trope. |
bukatyne:Your life will never remain the same. Just do, with an open mind. I may have faltered at one point, while following Google's suggestion, which is why I reverted to following direct human-human recommendation. But it's certainly not like google can't hit it right, sometimes. And to think that Hollywood has ran out of originality, making the whole world imagine that movie as an art is dead and buried. It's quite funny, really. Now, they're recruiting Koreans, with their last breath to revive their industry. People like me, may have jumped ship forever. |
I've been back and forth on whether to say anything about the It's Okay, That's Love, having finished watching it. Not because I don't have anything to say, but because I have too much that's now jumbled up and have made me not know where to start from. My poor heart still flutters. The show is sooooooo good, that I'm now not certain of the aptest way to express opinion on it. You there, who have not watched it, just endeavor to do so, before you leave this life abeg. It offered nothing to feed unrealistic expectations. Just straight up truths. Truths on how our control can only be as far as how we respond to life. Never how life comes at us. Even I, connected in some profound way, as per why my majoring in Neuroscience was not _____ It's because absolute solutions are_____ Spoiling averted. Again, I thought that Family of the year's Hero ST was so so perfect for the scene, where he came to. It sure has a collection of beautiful songs as Sound tracks. Then I was gifted with highly suggestive and the highest number of love making scenes in a K-drama, ever! From my K-drama experience, of course. How cool is that?!!! Be assured that I can now die happy, whenever that bell is due for tolling. These Koreans are really putting me in a frenzy with these back to back hits. K-entertainment has come a long way from Boys Before Flowers and if you ask me, people shouldn't be recommending that or any mediocre stuff to softland anyone again. Video quality and direction, as I mentioned earlier, might be discouraging at first, but make it through the first few seconds and you're hooked like no tomorrow. To this effect, I'm adding it to the "Must Watch List" that I'm putting up, for no-hot-mess-having people like myself, that are lucky to stumble upon my posts at any given time; What's Wrong With Secretary Kim Healer Crash landing On You Flower of Evil She Was Pretty And now, drum roll, please.. It's Okay, That's Love. ![]() Overall rating? 11/10. Lol |
This is just one Indian with a different voice. Take time to tour major social media networks like YouTube, quora and what have you and you'd find that there are much more Indians, cheering Nigeria on, than there are actually Nigerians. Not that I support the ban, but this Indian's post, is not indicative of the true perception of Nigeria, that their majority, have of us...atleast, with regard to this twitter matter sha. |
kangminhyuksho:Ehenn..thank God be that. |
bukatyne:Lol..why for the first two, though? ![]() "My love from another star" is on my list. Although, it's as if I'm seeing season 1 and 2 oo. Buh it will happen one day one day sha. Both stories might probably be unrelated. Right now, I'm doing one "It's okay, that's love" and Omgosh, I'm going bunkersss over it. Like woahhh. A friend once suggested it and I mistook it for "It's okay to not be okay", because both have similar themes. The video direction of IOToNotBO seems to be up to par with modern standards, but as per plot and other matters, abeg, twale for IOThat'sL. Chai, I feel so blessed to be watching really good dramas, back to back. I'd probably come back to talk to myself as I see |
