Dizzyrascal: I agree with you that sneijder was robbed in favour of a certain Leonel Messi. Till today I still regard sneijder as the true winner of the 2010 ballon d'Or and not Messi. Ojoro cancel Ojoro he won a treble with inter Milan in 2010, he helped neitherland to reach the World Cup final that same year. Sneider made a huge contribution and was significant both for club and country that year, he played a huge part in inter Milan's success and was on the top scorers chart in the 2010 world cup. I don't know what was the criteria for winning the FIFA player of the year in 2010 and 2018. Wesley Sneider should have had more votes, if modric was crowned the winner in 2018...why not Sneider? |

The friendly will be Nigeria's first game after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Ukraine in a friendly game in September. According to NFF boss Amaju Pinnick, the friendly game will take place on Tuesday, September 10 in Kyiv. In a series of tweets, Pinnick said the friendly game is part of his administration’s initiative to expose more players to international football. “We have secured a Grade A international friendly match for the Super Eagles against Ukraine in Kyiv, on the 10th of September,” Pinnick said on Twitter. “It is part of our on-going drive to expose as many players as we can to global football, so this should be another springboard for our young stars.” Nigeria and Ukraine have never met on the senior level. The friendly will be Super Eagles’ first game since they won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt. The Super Eagles won five games at AFCON 2019 as they went all the way to win a record eight bronze medal. Source http://www.reportminds.com/2019/08/nff-confirm-nigeria-vs-ukraine-friendly.html |

Danielnino00: Abuja stadium is too big to host the competition.. And aside Kaduna, I don't think there is any city in the core north that has the facilities to host the competition.. Even Kano has an astro pitch stadium...not good enough for the game.. And when u consider the recent cases of banditry in the region makes it not very safe. Plus Sharia law may cause wahala i thought the Abuja stadium is in a sore state? |

Luckyroro: Algeria is the winner of this tournament. The team is so organized just like modern European teams. This team will beat Super Eagles very well. No sentiments. the Algeria fans will say the opposite too. But I have watched like two of their games in this tournament and I must say their team cohesion is a 100%. |

TheSuperNerd: Afcon TITBITS
The three out of the four times Cameroun beat Nigeria were in the Afcon finals of 1984, 1988 and 2000.
Three times they hurt us when it really mattered. Even the other time they beat us was in a WCQ.
That is why our victory on saturday is more than sweet because we have also hurt them when it matters most. Just like in the 1962 Nkrumah Cup, 2004 Afcon, 2018 WCQs and now this at AFCON 2019. Twice we have rendered them ousted Defending champs.
Can't count Afcon 1992 because it was third place. Can't refer too to WCQs for 1970 because we didn't qualify even though we floored Cameroun.
Beating them when it truly truly matters. That is what I count here.
This is partly why it is the fiercest rivalry and biggest derby in African soccer.
Against South Africa, The Super Eagles must soar even higher. And I trust they will. i lived with the pains of losing the 2000 AFCON finals till we won it again....i sworn curses on kanu and ikpeba that day especially kanu |
