Let us put sentiments aside...Onyeama is a true Igbo man who means so well for Nigeria.

Please, tell Naija leaders...no matter what this man has done in the US that they are looking for him, they must not release this man like that ooo. We must negotiate on behalf of this gift. This man has found grace with Nigerians that we will negotiate with the US concerning him. This one is a gift for Naija ooo. This man must be protected by all means. US too dey do am for theirs.

Make dem substitute Abba Kyari with this man. Na that one dem suppose release without any wahala.

May God bless this man.
Sentimental garbage. Both Onyema and Kyari are criminals who should answer for their crimes

Can we all see the kind of abuse of power Tinubu is involved in? At first it was his son attending FEC meetings and now it's using the presidential jet and accompanying the president on official trips. This Tinubu is a scourge on this country

BusinessRe: 5 Things I Have Given Up Due To The Increasing Price by Roger3D(m): 1:09pm On Feb 26, 2024
Printme1:
Things are really really getting pricey and to be sincere it seems the prices are increasing every single day.

Last time, I bought a bag of pure water for N300. The next I want to buy the same bag of pure water, it was N350.

I sha still bought it like that.

3 days later, they announced the new price, N500!

That's where I stopped buying. I was already struggling with the N350 per bag. But N500?

So now I drink from the borehole. After all others have been drinking from there and nothing do them.

Bread
Normally, bread of N200 and coke will be enough to sustain you for the day or maybe for the night.

I do it this very often.

But now eh, I can't even go close to bread again. The prices are something else.

I mean the last time I tried it, only 1k bread will make sense and honestly I can't be spending that much in a sitting all the time.

So I've left bread behind.

Same thing with noodles and spaghetti.

So, I'm stuck with cooking regular foods now. And I tend to get most of my food stuffs from the village "yam, beans, garri, rice".

We farm these things so we tend to have them in stock. But sometimes you still need to sell.

I saw some students already cooking with fire woods instead of gas due to the increasing prices.

They go to the bush in the school, either around the school zoo or the botany garden to gather firewoods and then cook at the back of the hostel.

Some just use it to parboil their beans before taking it to the hostel to complete the cooking with their gas.

Honestly, there's suffering in the land. In my school hostel, electric burner is not permitted but most students are using it because of the price of gas.

Even Christian brothers that will obey the rules, some are breaking the rules because of this hardship.

Sometimes I imagine what people on the streets will be going through right now especially those beggars.

God will help us.

For those wondering, I'm a student. And I think most students can testify that they are making heavy changes to their lifestyle right now.

If you have a child in school, please do call to check up on them regularly. Send them anything you can spare. E no easy right now.
Please make sure that you boil the borehole water before you drink otherwise the cholera could kill you in hours

I have never seen christians killing and screaming in Jesus name like mad dogs

Nor Jews screaming Yahweh and killing people like animals.

That cannot be said for Islam
You know nothing about the history of your religion. All you know is what your business pastors drum into your skull every Sunday. Christianity has been responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people world over all under the banner of the cross. Put down your phone and enlighten yourself on your religion's dark past

Christianity is equally as much a mental case as Islam. There's hardly any difference between the two. Imagine a kettle calling a pot black.

Believeintruth:
If it was not binding why did he sign and agree to it and also shook hands with General Ankrah and said as brother officers that he would Abide by the agreement. The sad truth is that the Lagos advisers that mislead Gowon did it because they felt if Aburi was adopted they would lose the new found influence they have gotten. If the learned ones in Lagos were a match for Ojukwu why didn't they go to Aburi?
Get lost and go read a history book

gidgiddy:
Go and do more research about Nigerian history before you come online to talk ignorantly. The SMC, which was the 4 Regional military Governors of the time, and the military head of state, were all at Aburi, and they all signed the Aburi accord. But even if it had just been Gowon and Ojukwu at Aburi, once Gowon signed the agreement, the onus was on Gowon to fufil it. To come back and say that permission had to given before signing, has nothing to do with Ojukwu, it was still Gowons error

Sign an agreement and come back later to say you can't fufil because you need permission? That one is story for the birds
Only Ojukwu agreed to the signing the agreement before consultation. Once Gowon consulted with the remaining SMC people back home in Nigeria, they urged him not to implement it. That's just common sense. In today's Nigeria agreements entered into of that kind have to go to the NASS for ratification

Its becoming a case of the more you look the less you see.
The people of the areas in which they operate decided that it is not in their best interests to support them and so they're presently finding it hard to operate

A President signs an agreement but it is not binding? Really? Is that how you people reason? You sign an agreement then decide later if you want to go through with the agreement or not?

So how did you expect their won't be trouble?

I sign an agreement, and later I say that I conducted, and decided not to honor the agreement I signed? So I couldn't consult before signing? Then its Gowons's fault 100%
Most countries with a constitution require the approval of their respective national assemblies before foreign agreements entered into by their executives can take force. In Nigeria's case back then, Gowon needed to have the consent of the SMC before the Aburi accord could be implemented. He did' not get that consent. Abi you wan make him be dictator?
PoliticsRe: Hausa - Warning To Northern Nigeria. by Roger3D(m): 4:09pm On Feb 23, 2024
Antitankweapon:
Just another day to remind the Sultan that - Nigeria is not fulani homeland and Nigeria can never be fulani homeland. Every Nigerian, especially the northerners, must take cognisance of the facts below:

The Sultan is not indigenous to Nigeria.
Nigeria is not his personal property.
Nigeria does not belong to migrants
Nigeria is not fulani estate.
The fulani are guests in Nigeria.
The Sultan is causing problems in the North.
He is an obstacle to Nigeria's unity
His throne is not ancestral to the north.
He thrives because the Hausa are naive.

The fulani should look towards their real home in Futa Djallon. Not Nigeria.

We are reminding the Sultan not to arrogate to himself powers he doesn't have. He has NO right to use the Hausa politicaians to make decisions for the entire country. Nigeria is not his property.

And the Hausa must stop being used by the Sultan. Enough of being dummies.

We are calling the Hausa to stand firm against fulani in the North and :

1) Reject the formation of Emirates in Hausa land. And scrap the emirate system. It is alien to the north

2) Reject the Emirs and return the original Sarkin kings of Hausa land.

3) Reject the Turban as it is not the original traditional dressing of the Hausa. It is fulani dressing imported to replace Hausa culture.

4) Reject the Sultan and don't listen to him.

Just another day to remind the northerners that their problem is right next to them.

Whether they pretend or ignore it doesnt change the fact that they have Problems to solve - problems which affect their existence.

And the Sultan represents all the problems of the North. Know this and know peace.
And who are you to dictate to the Hausa whom to accept as their rulers? A southerner with no ties to the north. Don't you have enough problems of your own in that little shithole you call home?

What was out of his control? That he had no mental acuity to understand what an agreement was? Or that he needed the British to think for him even after signing an agreement? Which book did you read?
The Aburi agreement was not binding before consultation with the Nigerian people. Gowon consulted and he was advised accordingly. Ojukwu thought he was smart by using his Oxford learning to bamboozle his peers into signing an agreement that would have been the end of Nigeria, until he met his match in others as learned as he was. The rest is history

Gowon was not to blame for the civil war. The events that led to that tragedy were well out of his control. Most Nigerians don't read history books nowadays preferring to rather get their facts from social media and people like Mr Amadi and co.

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo May Soon Write A Letter To Tinubu by Roger3D(m): 8:39pm On Feb 22, 2024
Simbam:
In no distant time, the former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, may soon write an Open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In his usual manner, the former president has always written open letters to all the Presidents after him, apart from the late Yaradua. In a bid to draw the attention of the presidency to the current happenings in the country, the elder statesman who is known for being fearless has always written open letters, openly calling out the flaws of the sitting president.

Nevertheless, almost 9 months into the administration of President Tinubu, he is yet to write a letter to him. Questions have arisen such as; could it be that he is scared of a backslash from his ethnic group as they both share same tribe? Or is he still monitoring and evaluating what is happening in the nation?
