Celebrities / Kannywood Stars Canvasses Support For Arewa Youths Coalition (photos) by Rokaa(m): 2:07pm On Aug 17, 2017
Some stars from the Kannywood film industry show support to the Arewa youths coalition and endorse their stance about unity of Nigeria.

Their position is made known through series of photoshoot wearing a scarf and facecap adorned with the nation's flag colors presented to them by the Arewa youths coalition.

In the scarfs and facecaps that have Arewa insignia, it was written:

"Proudly Nigerian

Courtesy of coalition of northern groups (CNG)
"

But the Kannywood endorsement divided opinions of Northerners and elicited an online debate from two parties with one side backing the stars and the other side accusing the group as being equally irresponsible as other fanatically divisive groups they pretend to caution.

Politics / Kaduna And National Bureau Of Statistics Published Different Igr For The state by Rokaa(m): 12:23pm On Aug 15, 2017
In a series of tweets posted by Kaduna state's ministry of finance yesterday evening, a new revelation was made regarding the state's internally generated revenue.

The ministry's tweet contains figures that were entirely different from what the National bureau of statistics posted on their website http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng on May this year.

The data which was published at different times by the two government bodies captured record of internally generated revenue for Kaduna state from 2012 to 2016. Suprisingly all the figures vary greatly.

The 2016 figures for instance shows that the state's Igr stands at N17bn according to NBS, while Kaduna government's version shows N23bn.

The disparity is huge, how it managed to reoccur for four years unnoticed is mind boggling.

Pls try and get ur measurement unit right so that comprehensive help can be given. Your pond can never be (3.5*3.5*1.5)cm, it is either in feet(ft) or metre(m) and if you will be using the cm then it will be in hundreds or thousands of cm to be a realistic dimension for a pond

My bad. it's metre not cm.

Thanks for the correction.

I will soon stock 1000 juvenile catfishes in 3.5mx3.5m and 1.5m deep earthen pond.

1 - Is the above pond dimension correct for 1000 catfishes?

2 - How do i fertilize and lime the pond? What quantity and type of fertilizer and lime will i use?

3 - For how long will i keep liming and fertilizing before stocking.?

4 - When will i stock after liming and fertilizing.?

Is fertilization and liming necessary? What other pond preparation exercise is required before stocking?

Politics / Lamido, Dankwambo & Fayose Campaign At PDP Convention (Photos) by Rokaa(m): 6:30pm On Aug 12, 2017
The trio of presidential aspirants under peoples democratic party (PDP) have began lobbying and campaigning for their ambitions of occupying the number one seat in the country at the ongoing PDP non-elective convention in Abuja.

The two currently serving governors, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe state and Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state whose tenures will elapse in 2019, and Immediate governor of Jigawa state Dr. Sule Lamido were pictured in the midst of their supporters rocking customized T-shirts and Babbar-riga with their names and photos printed on, and campaign posters of various shapes and sizes.

The PDP, after its sack from Aso villa and unprecedented heavy defeat at the 2015 polls by the APC, have lost focus on its bearing till the recent court ruling that ousted its embattled former chairman Ali Modu Sheriff.

The success of the recent convention signalled a new dawn for the PDP, the new leadership, unity of purpose & learning from past mistakes has put the party in a new path to reclaim lost glory.

PDP power to the people.

I think you should try testing if the ad is active.

Create a new page with nothing but the html doctype, the body and ads code in it.

Sometimes inactive ads make people think their template is faulty.

Politics / Kwankwasiyya Bread Launched In Kano (photos) by Rokaa(m): 1:40pm On Aug 09, 2017
As the 2019 elections draws nearer, supporters of top shot politicians have already started camping in the "big tents" and openly showing solidarity to their preferred candidates.

This time a bakery in Kano launched Kwankwasiyya bread as an early gesture of goodwill to presidential aspirations of immediate Kano state governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The parent company identified as "TAOFEEQ" unveiled the new brand of bread through its ambassadors Hassana & Hussaina Musa who are both Kannywood stars.

The bread which is already in the market have a red cap photo and kwankwasiyya written on its bag.

To promote the bread, the twin actressess took it to their instagram pages and posted photos of them holding the bread in their hands and chunk of it in their mouths. Children were also pictured posing with the bread to get attention of more customers.

Would TAOFEEQ's radical marketing strategy work? Time will tell.

Politics / Borno Journalists Donates Trailer Of Cement To The State (photos) by Rokaa(m): 4:49pm On Aug 04, 2017
Over two hundred journalists working in Borno State have jointly ‎procured and presented a full trailer, containing 630 bags of cement to Governor Kashim Shettima as part of their contributions to support ongoing rebuilding of communities destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in many parts of the State.

The journalists, who tasked themselves with minimum of five thousand naira each were organized by Borno State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ to support their host State as part of different activities lined up for the 2014 to 2017 combined Press Week of the NUJ in the State with the theme: "the role of the media in Post Conflict Rebuilding of communities and livelihoods in Northeast, Nigeria". The presentation was done on Friday at the Government House in Maiduguri, capital of the State.

The journalists said they decided to make personal contributions because they were satisfied with the Governor’s ongoing rebuilding efforts across the State and felt necessary to support with "a token that could be used in rebuilding a few out of over 5,000 classrooms destroyed by insurgents".

"In line with the theme of our week which centres around advocacy for reconstruction of liberated and safe communities as well as livelihoods ‎for victims of the insurgency, we tasked our members who are over hundred from Correspondents of over thirty print, broadcast and online media houses to workers at the State Radio and Television and those working with the NTA, the the Peace FM operated by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and journalists working under the State Ministry of Information. Everyone us contributed a minimum of five thousand naira and a maximum of ten thousand naira. After collation, we arrived at buying a trailer of cement which we are donating to support your visible ongoing rebuilding of communities. We monitor and report all the rebuilding works and they are very encouraging" Babasheik Haruna, Borno chairman of the NUJ said before presenting the cement to Shettima.

An obviously appreciative Governor ‎Kashim Shettima said he was shocked to receive such quantity of donation from journalists who fall amongst low income earners in Nigeria.

"We have some politicians who boasted of being billionaires but they haven't made your kind of donation to support the ongoing rebuilding process. I cannot thank you enough. Some people may see five thousand naira as nothing but the persons who donated five thousand amongst you might have given ten percent of their salaries which is huge. Your gesture is shocking to me. But let me say that with or without this, the journalists in Borno State have always been the greatest contributors to the fight against Boko Haram, the handling of the humanitarian crisis and the ongoing rebuilding of not only Borno but indeed, the northeast. It was journalists that made the world to know about the existence of the Boko Haram, their leadership and murderous activities. If media reports by journalists in Borno State had been taken seriously, this calamity could have been avoided. I remember that in June and July, 2009, one Newspaper published two interviews with the late Mohammed Yusuf and in those interviews, Yusuf threatened to launch a Jihad over the crash helmets incident between his followers and members of the 0peration Flush. After the death of Mohammed Yusuf in July, 2009, some sections of the media reported that Shekau wasn't killed but the reports were dismissed. Again a year or so, later, the media reported Shekau's resurgence, someone at helm of affairs, dismissed the report as propaganda. The media kept saying that Shekau was planning to wreck havoc on Borno but all these reports were ignored and today, here we are. The media in Borno State has been playing it's role of informing the public, it is up to us as leaders, to make proper use of the information disseminated by the media" Governor Shettima said.
