This is an event organized by the government of Kebbi state in Argungu local government area to showcase its agricultural potentials and viability of agro business for aspiring investors.

The state which boast to be the largest Nigerian onion producer and headquarters of west African rice, with recorded success in completing rice production value chain with its two functioning rice mills and over 300,000 local rice farmers, organized the event at a time the acting president of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo visited the state along with state governors, ministers and other dignitaries for parley on states and federal government policy synergy.

The iconic event which attracts multitudes of people in the agricultural trade from different parts of the state to showcase the fruits of their hardwork is also an avenue that provides the general community an opportunity to celebrate their agricultural successess and achievements.

The exhibition encompasses different types and varieties of crops, perishable goods, grains and pulses, livestocks, fishes e.t.c, and mechanized farming tools.

After attending the policy synergy parley with Apc governors and commissioning the Wacot rice mill in Kebbi, the acting president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo attended a mini Agricultural show where Agricultural potential of the state is to be showcased.

The seeds and food produce grown in the state shown to the visiting acting president include potato, millet, rice, soyabean, sugarcane, groundnut cake, cattle oil e.t.c. Giant tillapias and huge cows were also displayed as well as a rice pyramid.

The first lady of the state Hajiya Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu whose facebook page handlers share the photos wrote this message about Kebbi state:

"WITH A LAND MASS OF OVER 923, 000km2 AND OVER 78% OF IT ARABLE, LAND IS OUR GREATEST ASSET. THE AGRICULTURAL POTENTIAL OF NIGERIA AND KEBBI IS VAST. LET US CLAIM IT."

Progressive Governors of Nigeria converged in Kebbi today for a Federal Government Parley on policy synergy to ensure development.

Acting President Prof Yemi Osinbajo is joined by key ministers of agriculture Chief Dr. Audu Ogbeh, finance Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, education Mallam Adamu Adamu; Gen. Mohammed Babagana Monguno (Rtd), the National Security Adviser and Mrs. Maryam Uwais, the Special Adviser to Mr. President on Social Investment Programme.

The acting president is also expected to commission the WACOT rice mill. The first Rice Mill CONCEIVED, CONSTRUCTED & COMMISSIONED in the Buhari Administration. Construction started in 2016 with full support from the Kebbi state Government.

The mill supports a network of over 50,000 rice farmers. The 120,000MT per annum mill represents an investment of 10bn Naira in the Nigerian economy ... and is the largest parboiled Rice Mill in west Africa.

The Kaduna state international airport's VIP lounge wear a new face after remodelling & installation of new facilities.

The upgrade which was awarded by the Kaduna state government to Dari investment limited touches all parts of the lounge to turn the airport around.

The muslims abandoning their children in those schools are doing it for Islam, they believe those children are in God's care.

They think Almajiranci is the best way to acquire Islamic knowledge.

Since Islam created the system, let Islam abolish it, the poor must not be allowed to continue subjecting their children to cruelty in the name of education.

There are better Islamic schools that even the poorest can afford. N50-N100 a week per child for evening Islamic schools is affordable.

According to Rariya page (facebook), the incident happened at unguwar Sheka, Kano.

The young Almajiri whose age is below ten(10) was ruthlessly beaten by his teacher, Mallam Mas'udu Yakubu as a punishment for too much roaming around.

Confirming the incident, a Hisbah police officer, barrister Nabahani Usman said the teacher was arrested and prosecution process has since commenced

The Benue state government's S. A. Social Media, Philip Mbakuuv Ankyhquwa shared the story of a school principal who built a cattle ranch from scraps.

He wrote:

Innocent Mayange: a civil servant and Principal, School For Exceptional Children, Aliade has keyed into the ranching policy of the state government by constructing a ranch using local materials as the best available option with the intention of doing more in due course.

Even though Bro. Mayange is battling with many challenges like improved grasses, water and power supply we think this is the best way to go. All is now set for the official visit of acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo to Kebbi State on Tuesday 1st August, 2017.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari says, Governor Abubakar Atiku gave this assurance this Sunday, while inspecting events venues in Argungu and Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor inspected facilities put in place such as Accommodation, venues, reception, WACOT Rice Mill Argungu and the venue of mini Agricultural show where Agricultural Potential of the state is to be showcased including Rice PYRAMID known as “DALAR SHINKAFA”.

The Governor expressed satisfaction about the level of arrangement and urged people of state to turn out enmass to welcome the acting President. He directed all and sundry to ensure cleanliness of their Environment and work places.

During the visit the acting President is expected to commission a number of projects including the WACOT Rice Processing Mill, Argungu.

Meanwhile Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has said the state government would assist FERMA to rehabilitate the damaged portion on the Argungu Birnin Kebbi road.
The Governor who inspected the affected areas expressed confidence that in the next two days the road would be repaired.

Earlier, the site engineers, Rilwanu Usman Zagga, and Yusha’u assured the Governor, that the bad portion will be fixed immediately to enable communities ply the road safely.

Yesterday 30/7/2017, the governor of Katsina state Aminu Bello Masari commissioned a rubber works factory at Kankia local government area.

The factory which will be operated by Ampri global limited will produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC) appliances.

PVC is used in construction for drainage & plumbing, and in profile applications such as doors and windows framing, electrical cable insulation, inflatable products, and many applications where it replaces rubber and metal.

Scores of Yobe PDP leaders who decamped and were received within the folds of the All Progressives congress (APC) in the state in a ceremony in Damaturu today have cited the progress being made by the Gaidam administration in roads development, healthcare, education, etc. as some of the reasons why they decided to join the APC and the governor to move the state forward.

"The achievements of Gov. Gaidam are enormous and we want to be part of his genuine effort to move our state forward. Look at the chain of roads we now have in the state. Anyone who knew what it used to be to drive from Gashu'a to Yusufari or from Nguru to Machina would appreciate the roads that Governor Gaidam has built in those areas. It wasn't easy or fun to drive in those sandy terrains but thanks to the governor, things have now changed for the better.
The establishment of a Teaching Hospital in Damaturu is also another success story we want to be part of"

- Jibir Maigari, a former federal minister and one of the PDP leaders who decamped to the APC said.

Arc. Mohammed Saleh, a stalwart of the PDP and former housing commissioner in the state spoke in similar vein. He cited progress in healthcare and education as well as Yobe's remarkable performance in salary payments at a time that other states were failing to pay their workers as things every patriotic Yobe citizen should be proud of.

“We have no reason to be in opposition. Our interest is the progress of our state. Governor Gaidam is championing that progress. It’s always a thing of joy and pride to us that the stands out in terms of regular payment of salaries, gratuities, and pensions. He is doing remarkably well in education and healthcare. Therefore, we join him to deliver more to the people", he said.

H.E Governor Gaidam, who described the large turn out of people at the event as ‘clear indication’ that the APC is ‘waxing stronger’ in the state, said the policies, programmes and manifesto of the party and its performance at the state and federal level “has endeared our party to the hearts of many people”.

He said the decision of the Yobe PDP leaders to decamp to the APC is a wise one, “a homecoming and a journey to where they rightly belong”.

“Let the whole world note that those formally decamping or returning home today are all high-profile individuals and politicians made of a former minister, former members of national and state houses of assembly, former acting chairman of the PDP in Kano State, former commissioners and a retired permanent secretary. There are also former local government chairmen and party executives at state and federal levels and others too numerous to mention”, the governor said.

The governor commended the decampees for their foresight, assuring them that they are fully pledged members of the APC from today. “I assure them that we shall continue to recognise and accord them all the rights and privileges that are being enjoyed by other APC supporters in the state”, he said.

The governor also charged them to ‘strive hard to advance the cause of the party’. “Let’s collectively work to convince the rest of your supporters who are still sitting on the fence to come join us too. As our brothers, we need them. Yobe is the home of APC and all false suitors have no place here”, he said.

The rice here is not even up four trailers.Kebbi state government should tell us how much it has made as IGR from this before I can take them serious.I am sure it is not even up to 50,000 naira.

Kebbi have over 300,000 rice farmers

Most farmers sell rice at the farm.

Others sell the riped farm itself for mills to harvest.

Una see something, and government go dey shout we build mill, we give them this and that... Why then is all these ones not processed? Do we need a fortune teller to know that they will make more money wen it is processed?

Kebbi have two working rice mills already (wacot & labana), with a very good processing capacity, both owned by individual entrepreneurs.

Some families in the north process rice by themselves, some dont even buy rice at all, they farm, process and store their grains for the year.

Yauri is the third biggest rice market in Kebbi state after Argungu(second) and Bunza(first). These three towns sets Friday as weekly market days for rice trading.

Because Kebbi farmers cultivate rice throughout the year, every week all year round thousands of rice traders from different parts of Nigeria and bordering francophone countries storm Kebbi markets for different varieties of rice.
