@OP, just a word of advice, quit trying to find a justifiable reason on why he travelled without letting you know. just try to get back your hubby first and everything othing can be discussed and ironed out over time. Marriage is a lifelong work and journey. Dont stay on trivial quarells for too long with the aim of looking for justifiable reasons......you guys have a long journey in marriage, and i think its better you both start now to build a solid marital foundation based on love,mutual respect, tolerance, patience and trust.

@OP, i actually thought as much. construction work is quit a tedious job and i quite understand the scope, and being a civil engineer, his brains and hands will be working round the clock in order to execute a proper job on site. His alchohol consumption may be what he uses to calm down his brains and body system. This is quite common among construction workers, though with some exceptions. There is also a possiblity of it being a stimulant for him to be active and agile on site. however, you have to gradually help him to stop alchohol consumption because he may be addicted to it. It may not be easy but you have to try and do it with love, understanding and care. Do not nag him or loose your temper all the time because he took some alchohol after a day's hard work, but be there for him always and continously remind him that he can do without alchohol. Besides, dont expect instant change! It will be gradual.

On the little misunderstanding you guys had, its a minor issue that can be solved. Both of you are still young in marriage and should not allow anger over little things to go that far. One of the bedrock of a successful marriage is the presence of tolerance and mutual respect.
When he comes back, go to your husband and make him happy. When the atmosphere is calm and relax, then you quietly and lovingly tell him how unhappy you were and how he made you feel. Try to always understand what he goes through on site and encourage him always. Be his friend.

hopebd: fellow nairalanders, there is a guy who need ur view n advise on either to marry a lady frm polygamous family or not. @OP, the guy at this point in his life should have known what wants in a woman before contemplating marriage. Also, his maturity and priority levels should have been straightened up to a reasonable extent before thinking about marriage. However, my own take is that what ever he sees and encounters now and feels he can not live with it during marriage, he should not bother entering into the marriage. But if on the other hand, he feels he can handle and live with anything that is within the perimeter of the relationship before entering marriage, then he can decide to give the marriage a shot. But the bulk of the entire decision stops at his table because he is the one in the relationship and as such, has more real-time experience on the relationship.

angiemartinez: ok it started on sunday which was supposed to be our 1yr anniversary, he planned going out on a date to unwind and all of that. so he was told to come to work dat day. i called about 4.00pm and he said he just left site and was in d office already which means dey were alredy tru.

he told me he will join me shortly, waited till 5.00pm i called him and he busyd my call. called again at 5.30pm he busyd my call agn. he does dis wen he is in a place he cant explain to me, so i was already angry cos i knew probably he was drinking which has always being an issue. i just hate d smell of alcohol

he came back by 6.10pm and true to my assumption, that awkward smell of alcohol. he tried to apologise i was so angry and told him i wasnt going anywere again.

he too became angry dressed up and left d house at about 7.30pm, and came back at about 10.03pm with more smell of alcohol.

woke up on monday morning, called for devotion he did not come, greeted him with no reply, told him dere was no food he did not answer and he left for work. he came back i greeted him, he did no respond.

woke up on tuesday, called for devotion he did not come out, greeted him he did not respond, i told him dere was no food, he droped money on d bed and left. he came back, i greeted him, he did not respond, i was relly pissed now, so i served his food and went to my room to sleep.

woke up on wedsday morning, i was too angry to pray, i did not boda greetn him, and i left for work. waited for him to till 11.00pm he did not come, so i called, only for him to tell me travelled to site. with d anger i insulted him badly. it was really bad i no, dont no wen his going to come back. buh seriously am pissed.

@OP, please permit me to ask you this: what kind of work does he do, especially when on site?

When I told one of my sisters, she said I should just forget about that though she has been married for 20 yrs now.
