I don't know what you mean by focus but it basically mean you must find at least 2hrs maybe in five days in a week to practice a language patiently as days go by.
Where more confidence comes in is how do people use this programming languages and how to solve problems.
So you need to be on constant research, your question would never be answered in a day but you must continuously keep researching about them and asking them. then you will eventually get answers. cheers

For 2yrs now, I have seriously wanted to transition from my job as a Civil Engineer to a Software Developer. It had been a dream even before going to study civil engineering but you know the Nigerian University admission system can be funny and tricky at the same time. Fast forward, I finished the course which is not a bad field of study in any way over ten years ago but the attraction to IT keeps getting stronger because I follow events and know where things are really happening. I have been doing some video tutorials and is like I am virtually vast in the terms and terminologies in web dev. Now, my issue is that I lack focus on doing the main thing which is being persistent in coding! My dad with his University of Ibadan 2'2 degree didn't stay without work for up to 3 months after serving – got a really good job for that matter.

Nigerians could travel easier back then and even though the standard of living wasn't all that high, things were affordable in comparison.
Today, the standard of living is low (even lower if we're being honest), yet commodities aren't that affordable.

The internet age, satellite TV, and advent of mobile devices which ushered in the era of remote jobs and internet-based sources of income, also came with the introduction of make-believe lifestyles from watching reality shows like MTV cribs, KUWTK, etc...
Young Nigerians became obsessed with living wealthy lifestyles and acquiring expensive things (even when unnecessary).

Older Nigerians definitely had a much better Nigeria than we do now. It wasn't heaven then, but it still wasn't as hellish as it is now.
People actually lived in Nigeria back then, but what people are doing now is surviving – there's a big difference.

My brother, the overall mentality of Nigerians is very different now from what it was then.

Although it's not that the country was European-standard for older Nigerians back in the day, but contentment seemed to be more prevalent as people were okay with just having the basics/having just what was necessary.

To be honest, listening to that guy's program which I rarely do shows that the man is becoming too powerful that he says and does anything he likes without fear of anybody. "Absolute power corrupt absolutely".

My learning curve is been hampered by the constant hanging of the video tutorial I bought from Udemy. This at times, will make me stop training for a number of days, it has really affected my speed, that the target set for myself in finishing it has elapsed. What should I do?
