manny4life: Last I read, the Nigerian government said it had halted parts of the report for now last time I read, but the preliminary was released. I know the NTSB takes a year or even years to finalize everything. I'm just saying that people should not think Nigerians are crazy for being cautiously optimistic about Dana 2.0, it was only a year ago. 1 Like |

manny4life: Na wa for some people o, does it mean the airline isn't airworthy anymore? I think the fact that the government abandoned the Crash report and literally re-instated them over night makes people reasonably wary. Things happen but all this rush rush should not be in a serious matter like this. 3 Likes |

That's my worry about Nigeria, the ability to build is there but maintaining it is the problem. Imagine if America never worked on the Federal highway system after Eisenhower left, how many years is that 60+ years. What road would there be to talk of. You could have a monument of OBJ's a.s.s built in Nigeria no problem, but see how the thing will be sagging and looking a hot mess after two years pass. The mentality on that end has to change, its easier to keep up repairs than to start fresh. Maybe the 500th time is the charm. 1 Like |

Sagamite: You are supposed to be educating me so I'm asking for you to show me quantifiable proof that "Sagamite is working" So instead of boring me with one long useless rant tell me what she did, I want to hear your approved version of events so I can go ask my teacher at my school You are still struggling with your dumb assertions that people don't show people things when they teach? Foool! If you were being honest you would know I never said anything of the sort, but asking for basic decency from you is like meeting a stri.pper that is not named Candy. Its impossible. But go ahead. Matter of fact can you tell me the name of the prestigious institution you attended. I'm sure they would love to hear the "fine" work one of their |

To be honest I don't know why you are bothering to answer him. Maybe if this was a sincere person asking the question it be worth your time. But in this case Eko Ile is not criticizing because he cares about the citizens of Awka Ibom this is just one loser's attempt to tear down any state that is not Lagos. Awka Ibom could look like Tokyo and he will still find fault it could be that instead of using red bricks to line the sidewalks you used blue, so therefore you are a failure because according to the metrics he pulled out of his a.s.s. red is the standard (Mind you Lagos could be using blue, but its Lagos so it doesn't count ). You would think being Fashola's paid b1tch would limit time online but it must be a slow January. 1 Like |

Sagamite: Can you please show proof that your words have worked. Anything a chart? Graph? You claim your words work so show me someone somewhere saying that because of you they did "x". Tell me what Rosa Parks did? Tell me what MLK Jr did? I would like to know And I never said you cannot be taught certain things in order to learn. But there are certain things in life you have to figure out on your own. I know you have to lie to make your point but keep it to a minimum baboon. But I doubt you actually be reasonable to answer my questions so you have to twist what I say 1 Like |

^^ Of course govt on some level is involved. In some countries getting hitched comes with incentives, in Dubai natives who marry other natives get tons of goodies (on top of what the already get). you might get tax breaks, and etc. But I don't think a good deal of countries micromanage marriages like they are doing here. The next problem is why should it be only one religion receiving this kind of treatment? Can Christians, traditional faiths, and everybody else sign up? Even if their number in the state is small no matter how crazy the scheme it must be applied equally. 1 Like |

The Kano Govt could help with logistics but for something of this nature is should not be contributing its money. In India a similar thing is done but for newlyweds that would not be able to afford the dowry required for marriage but its a NGO/Private Group that facilitates the event. Money on education and loans to help start business would be better in the long run. It would be better to educate people to not stigmatize divorcees and widows than to marry people. 1 Like |

shymexx: Well not many of them seem to be snapping up these passports (which do not exist for the American ones at least) If you are relevant shouldn't you be able to demand change that benefits your group? Native Americans are the poorest and most neglected minorities in the US, even Blacks and Hispanics do better than them in all indices. Actually Native Americans in some cases were forced to assimilate, it was only with the civil rights movement of the 60's that Native Americans have begun to reclaim their heritage. You are allowed to create your own identity in the US as long as it doesn't break any laws. Which is why the KKK as long as the seek permission before hand are allowed to march and say hateful things in public. The FBI only bothers you when your actions will cause harm to the public. Anyway, this is not what this thread is about so I'll stop interrupting it |

OlowoTee: ...So easy to shout from the 'mountain top' and where was sagamite during the fuel subsidy rally? *smiles. That's my point, that was what I was asking. I'm not saying everyone should go into politics but change can happen in various ways. Maybe he thinks India got their independence by being outraged. No, they got off their behind and demanded better. Blacks in America were angry at their treatment for a long time, did Whites give a crap about them being mad. Hell, no but when Black people protested, marched, went through the courts, and did whatever else they could to change the law things did change. If your only portion is to remain angry on the internet you are no better than the people you criticize. Did GEJ back down from the subsidy removal because of angry facebook posts or the fact that people were in the damn streets raising hell? I tire for some of the people on this site. You are well in your right to criticize things in Nigeria but at some point words need to be backed with action. If your proof that you are changing this is "how do you know I'm not" then its clear you are a joke. Tell me how Nigeria which was not considered a failed state before in 2005 is now among the top 20 in 2011, is showing signs of progress in the right direction. Unless GDP is now the only thing worth considering It was a simple question that had no malice behind it and now I'm hearing all kind of BS other than the topic at hand, guilty conscious must be speaking. Even if he said well I'm not doing "x" at the moment but I hope one day to do this, that would have been better than his useless "I think I'm smarter than you rant" 1 Like |

Sagamite: Struggling over what Well I guess you must be the only one who learns that way then In most cases you have to be taught something and then figure out how to apply that concept on your own But I'm sure when you learned math you just looked at it and understood it instantly because you are an alleged genius. You said you are making change aren't you supposed to be proofing The burden of proof is on you not me because I've seen no real noticeable change that is positive in Nigeria, but you claim that you have been the catalyst for change can you show that? My proof is only a google search away your own? From your a.s.s most likely By the way I asked you a question about the gun issue in the UK and the US why did you just gloss over that? No answer? |
Politics / Re: Governor Suntai Discharged From German Hospital by Roseart: 1:00am On Jan 04, 2013 |
Sagamite: You can show me a lot of things and not be teaching me. If you watch a pilot fly is that teaching you all the necessary skills to fly or don't you actually have to learn on your own at some point? I've given you two cases dear Answer the question then. Why has nothing changed regarding gun laws in the US while it did in the UK? If reaction is all it takes. But you wont answer that because that would take actual effort. So its just evolving now? Not after the other two major shootings in the US in the same year, what an excuse So the situation is evolving in Nigeria too. Is that your excuse as well What am I struggling about, you haven't said anything thought provoking unless repeating the same thing over and over again counts. |

[quote author=shymexx] Perhaps, by American standard - however, NYC is still as violent as ever... NYC will always NYC and with bloods and crips running everywhere from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Harlem to Queens, the future of NY looks bleak... By 2020, 1 in 3 black people in America will have a criminal records and with NYC being one of the places with the highest concentration of black people - NYC and safe should never be in the same sentence... According to you? Because you are the standard we go by? I heard you they are still shooting at cops from the roof-tops, no?? NYC is supposed to have gone soft after Daz and Kurupt kicked down all the buildings... Never heard of that. I guess my definition of "immediate family" is difficult from yours then... I'm not an illusionist, I do real thing - and I definitely can't classify people I have absolutely no relationship whatsoever with as my immediate family... You could have said that instead of screaming your head off at me. Stay deceiving yourself - I don't care if you're "avatar" or a cone-head from planet X... It's the internet, anyone can claim anything they want, however, knowledgeable people should be able to discern who the frauds are.. Well so far you have been wrong on my ethnicity If blyss is AA, the I'm from planet Nibiru...I swear to God he is Enugu is the pride of Igbo and almost all Igbos all this forum are fixated on the thread... But Idi whatever was in that thread numerous times, is she Igbo too If you pride yourself in being a knowledge person, then you should about the most widely read business newspaper in the world... Heck, FT have more topics about Africa than Forbes and Economist combined!! It just shows that your knowledge is limited.. Key word business. I'm not a business person beyond my own personal finances, what goes on in China is not of interest to me at this stage in my life, therefore the FT would be of no use to me. I should force myself to read it? Am I being paid. We're not even at the peak of winter yet... Are you sure you live in America?? Winter here is from December to early February. Winter is not the same for everyone everywhere you know. Or are you going to tell people in Florida they are not in Winter. And do you know how hot Northern Nigeria is?? Because I've been to Nigeria and also know how to google Perhaps that's also a reason why people stay indoors in Sokoto as well... Nah, no one in America(the home of the dumbest and most ignorant people on the planet) is checking for those cities... What do you expect from people who can't name five countries on this planet?? How many Americans know the difference between United Kingdom and Great Britain?? No one cares about Americans, to be honest... Expecting Americans to know anything is like expect a freaking barbie doll to speak... Foreigners are located mostly in London, outside of London its definitely more white. Am I lying Nigeria, Kenya, China, Tokyo, and India. 5 United Kingdom includes Ireland, Wales, and etc. Great Britain was the island London is located on. Barbie dolls do speak Brooklyn has always been a cesspit ridden with pimps, thugs, mafias, gangsters, and drug dealers!! Most Manhattan workers reside there because it's cheaper to live there... Not really rent is high in Brooklyn too. Compared to Manhattan its not as bad but its not cheap unless you live in rent controlled housing. Just like London has been a diseased and crime ridden place home to the Notorious Jack the Ripper Keep your bootleg SOHO, the real SOHO is where everyone cares about... There's only one SOHO and it's in West End!!Once again, according to you. International art collectors host shows in "fake" Soho with no problem. Maybe its just you I don't even like celebrating the British Monarchy thing, however, you'd be surprised that the woman isn't a ceremonial monarch - she's still the head of Canada, Caribbean countries(former British colonies), commonwealth, Australia, New Zealand etc... She's also subtly the head of US of A - go ask Obama! You have no idea what you are talking about do you? Does the Queen of today have even a tenth of the power Queen Victoria of yore had? Think on that. |
