This thread is so disgusting. After, I have answered your questions, I don't expect you to still be criticising Christianity or arguing with others about the Christian doctrine. Christianity is different from jw. Christians worship Jesus, jws don't.

Trinity- The Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit are equal but they have different roles to perform, just like husbands and wives have different roles to perform in the family.

This is the verse where Jesus referred to Trinity.
(Matthew 28:18-19)
18. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Jesus is the Messiah, He is God but He made Himself a full human being and came into the world.
This is the prophesy about the Messiah.
(Isaiah 9:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This is where Jesus claimed that He is the Messiah.
(John 4:25-26)
25. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

Jesus rebuked the devil when the devil tempted Him. He said "Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." Why did Jesus not rebuke people when they were worshipping Him, why did He permit them to worship Him instead if He (the only begotten Son of God) is not equal with God? Will He have permitted people to worship Him if He is an angel of God and not God Himself?

This is the verse where Jesus made someone worship Him.
(John 9:33-38)
33. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
34.They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

This is the verse that proves that Jesus was worshipped even when He was a baby.

As Jesus Christ told you , lust in your heart after a woman is adultery - this He clearly explained in Matthew 5 vs 27 - 28 is in no way similar to the Old Covenant definition of the word.

Fornication is not listed as a sin by Jesus Christ. Instead it is listed as the only valid reason given by which a divorce can be obtained by a one who is a follower - Matthew 19 vs 5 - 10.

Laws in the Bible can be divided into civil, ritual and moral laws. The New testament did not instruct us to comply with the civil laws and ritual laws. If we want to claim salvation by works and not by grace, then we should still consider ourselves unsaved because we have not done any works and there are several laws in the old testament that we have not been observing.

Most laws in the old testament were specifically written for Israel in the time when rituals was compulsory, they are not meant for us, so it is not a sin to ignore the them.

Civil - means not military or religious, relating to the ordinary people of a country or relating to citizens of a country: Civil laws differs by country, every country have their own civil laws, so the Israel civil laws recorded in the old testament was not extended to us because the Church is not the physical Israel nation and it is made up of people from different nations.

Ritual is a sequence of activities involving gestures, words, actions, or objects, performed according to a set sequence. Ritual laws are no longer valid because Jesus has paid the price for them by sacrificing His own life.

Moral laws are laws that can guide our morals. The ten Commandments are made up of moral laws, thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, etc.

Not all laws in the Bible are meant for us, like the law in Leviticus 19:27, Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

What is the point of creating this thread? jw members are allowed to practice their doctrine in peace, please don't involve us, this is really none of our business.

When we eat or drink blood, it goes from our mouth to our digestive system but when we receive blood through transfusions it goes through our veins to the systems in the body that needs it. We cannot live without blood in our body but we can live without eating or drinking blood. Jesus was even always encouraging us to save lives.

God doesn't get angry when people take logical actions to save lives or help others. God blessed the mid-wives after they lied to their king to save the Hebrew baby boys including Moses. Why did He not punish them for lying. Could they not have rejected the assignment and allowed the king give the assignment to someone else instead of lying?

As a Christian, I know Jesus has explained severally that Christianity is not a tradition or a culture, if you want to follow Jesus genuinely, you have to understand that He placed Love above the law.
(Matthew 22:36-40)
36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38. This is the first and great commandment.
39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The Bible explained to us in several verses that the law is the knowledge of sin and the law was only created to guide us and make us conscious of sin, it was not created to box us or make us inconvenient.
(Romans 3:20) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Exodus 20:8 (Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy)

If the law is more important to Jesus than Love and kindness, why did He not try to protect the law, why did He support the breaking of the law for the purpose of Love and kindness instead?
Jesus could have said that God did not make it compulsory for people to fast on the Sabbath day, so striving for food or eating on the Sabbath day, should not be considered a sin but instead He explained that Love is greater and our convenience matters more than the laws. The disciples were hungry and they needed to satisfy their tummy but the pharisees preferred to see a man die of starvation than to see him break the law. They couldn't understand that being kind-hearted matters a lot than keeping the law. Jesus replies whenever the pharisees accuse Him or His disciples always explains that God cares more about the intention than the act.

We should always try to keep the law because it is a sin to violate the law but there are certain situations where we have to ignore the law especially when it is trying to stop us for showing love to our neighbours. If you are a Christian and you want to obey Jesus completely, just Love your neighbours, stop being traditional or cultural.

Guy, I did not ask you for your personal opinion, do you expect me to be concerned about everybody's beliefs and opinions? Even children have their own personal beliefs and opinions. There is freedom of belief so you are entitled to your own beliefs and others are also entitled to theirs. Just try to be responsible and understand.

If I am practicing jw's doctrine instead of my Christian doctrine, how am I a Christian? Christian doctrine is for Christians, anybody that wants to practice jw's doctrine should simply convert. It is not by force, you cannot force people to accept your belief and doctrine by criticising their doctrines. If you need converts so badly, then preach about your religion. You cannot change the Christian doctrine by criticising it, you are just wasting your time. Don't expect me to argue my doctrine with you, I don't participate in pointless arguments, I prefer to allow you believe whatever makes you sleep well at night.

Why would you say JWs are different from christians?

jw have their own personal bible and there doctrine is different from Christian doctrine. Their description of Christ is even different, so it is possible their own Christ is different from ours.

Let say God prohibited the drinking of alcohol for christians, don't you think taking it via any means like injecting it to your body would violate His order?

JWs take medications and use the hospital but they don't just take in blood in any form. If the only way was blood transfusion, they wouldn't go for it cos they believe that even if they die, they will resurrected and meet their loves one again in the future.
I'm not yet a JW. I haven't been baptized.

You can't say that it's a dogma, it's clearly a Bible concept.

While growing up, my perception bout

Christianity today is not in pure form. Our beliefs are influenced by Roman Catholic dogmas.
But the JW strives to find and believe only the Truth.

Even if you have not done jw baptism that doesn't mean you are still a Christian, Christianity is claimed by Faith not by going to Church. You are already a member of jw by belief, the only thing missing now is your jw baptism. You are free to preach your belief but you have no right to criticize or debate other people's religion. Christianity and jw are different.

You must be mistaken me for someone else, I don't worship people, my only role model and hero is the Lord Jesus Christ and I am not a judge or a law enforcement agent, so I am not authorised to settle disputes. If you feel pastors are criminals or you feel offended by their lifestyles, simply go to the nearest police station to file a complaint and if you are still not satisfied, instead of persuading reasonable citizens like me that understand that there is freedom of belief to support your mission, just select people with your level of IQ and type of belief. Gather them together, go on the street with placard cards and start protesting against pastors.

Guy, this is a forum not my father's house, I was not asking you to stop giving your opinion, it is your hand you are using to type not mine so you can type whatever you want, I was only concerned. Even on the road, if people see on adult acting like a child, will they not feel concerned? I just wanted to be sure that you are okay.

As a citizen of Nigeria even if you love Nigeria so much, will you make it a duty to select criminals and punishment them if you are not assigned to be a law enforcement officer? God is the highest authority and He did not assign me to be a judge over others, a mere human being like you cannot instruct me to leave my daily business to start selecting evildoers.

Atheist are not even much but most people are still not wicked or evil. Even with all the sufferings in the world, religion still allows people to continue to have conscience no matter the situation they are in. You have no right to question God, you are just one of His creatures, you are a mere human being created from dust. You have not finish telling the president of your own country how to live His life, you are here trying to dictate for God, the greatest authority of all, you must be high on something. You did not enthrone God so He is not asking you for permission to continue reigning or ruling.

The president of a country has authority over the citizens and he has every right to give laws and punish law breakers. God is even more than the world president, He has authority over all of us including the presidents. He is the one that will determine your fate whether you like it or not.

Can't you see your pride is worthless? You cannot even go to the presidential villa to question your president and you think you can question the Almighty God. Have you forgotten that you are ordinary dust and you will surely become dust again? You are just an ordinary, powerless being that has no power to decide his own fate. You are angry because God gave us freewill and He still wants us to keep His laws but you are not angry with the lawmakers that gave us freedom of expression but not freedom to commit crimes. Shouldn't crime become legal and go unpunished because it is ruining some people's happiness, some people cannot do some of things they want to do because of the fear of being caught?

If you have good moral values and you want to do the right things you will not hate laws. God is the creator of this world, He has every right to set rules for our peaceful coexistence. Do you expect God to permit injustice. How will this world be if there is nothing like sin or punishment for sin? If not for the rules God set, some people will be very wicked and evil, they will prefer to live their lives without conscience and if they are influential or they can outsmart the authorities and not get caught, they will escape the judgment of this world

A lot of people are not doing evil because God have set rules and they know that even if they outsmart the government of this world, they can never outsmart God. Wrongs can never make rights, if a lot of people are evil, you yourself will hate this world so much, you will not even want to live for up to twenty years in this world. God made the laws for our convenience and you are complaining, human beings can never be satisfied.

Having a specific desire does not make a guy or a lady bad but being selfish is the wicked act. Both guys and ladies should look for their own compatible partners to marry. They have to know each other's personalities, desires and priorities and be sure it is not clashing before they get married. If a guy want a full house wife, he should look for a lady that is ready to be a full house wife, he should not force a lady with a major priority of becoming a working class woman to become a housewife. If a guy wants a slim lady, she should look for a slim lady, he should not force a fat lady to become slim.

The guy is very wicked, what he feels for her is not even love. Genuine love is not self-centered and selfish. This type of guy will never respect her feelings even after marriage, he is a control freak. If she doesn't want regrets in future, it will be better for her to separate from him now. Their relationship is like a master and a slave relationship, his behaviour will likely become worst after marriage. Her happiness, desires and priorities will never matter to him and she will have to learn to continue to sacrifice her own happiness to avoid regular quarrel in their home.

Desires differs, some guys are looking for ambitious ladies like her to marry. She should dump him to find a loving and caring guy that understands her and wants her the way she is. There is no reason for her bf to be proud, he is not the only guy and guys are not scarce. Would she have asked him to stay back and not fulfil his dreams, if she was the one? If she would not have done the same to him then she should not accept it either.

Love brings happiness not worries and fears. If he truly loves her, he will care more about her feelings than his selfish desires. Why will he ask her to sacrifice her own happiness for him? Even in Romeo and Juliet love story, was it only Juilet that was sacrificing? What kind of one-sided love is this? So she should leave her own future ambition because of him. Does he think the only mission of a woman in this world is to become a wife? Sick mentality.

If the devil challenges you that you are a sinner, remind him that he is the condemned sinner and you are only a prodigal child, if you return to your father Je will surely forgive you. Don't put the law before Love. Love is greater than the law because the law is only explaining what love means, it was only created to guide us and make us conscious of what sin is.
(Romans 3:20) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The mid-wives in the time of Moses understood that Love is greater than the law. They had to lie to the king to spare the lives of Hebrew baby boys including Moses and God blessed them greatly.

The Jews were practicing the law before Jesus came but when Jesus came He explained to us that Love is greater than all the laws. Read Exodus 20:8 and you will understand that the ten commandments did not permit us to work on the Sabbath because it is set apart as an Holy day but Jesus disciples were accused of breaking the Sabbath law because they picked some grain and ate it as they walked through a field on the Sabbath day, Mark 2:23.

Jesus reply whenever they accuse Him or His disciples always baffles, He always explains that the intention is what matters, one would have expected Him to justify His disciples in Mark 2:23 by saying, they were not working on the Sabbath day, they were just eating because they were hungry and the law did not say it was mandatory to fast on the Sabbath day but instead He explained that the law was made to our advantage not to box us. He just wants us to be happy and live peacefully with one another, is that too much for Him to ask. Christianity is not a type of tradition or culture. So serving God can never have a negative effect on you.

Mark 2:24-28,
24. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
25. And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?

What will God gain from ruining your happiness? God wants you to be happy and fulfilled, He has good plans for you. Just serve Him truthfully and with honesty. Don't try to be a scientist just face what is important. The major commandment Jesus gave to us is love God with all your heart. You just have to love your neighbours genuinely to be able to achieve that.

Jesus has done all the works for us already, what else do you want? He died for us 2,000 years old before we even existed that was before we could even do any works. Just like princes inherit their titles for their fathers without putting in any effort that is the same way salvation was giving to us as a gift by our Father and Lord.
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Our works are just evidence of our salvation. The same way we can identify a prince by his dressing, lifestyle or gestures, that is the same way a saved person is known by his works. When we reject salvation and embrace sin, we are like a princes that denounce their titles to live the life of slaves.

Even those that are truly obeying and serving God cannot boast. Take a look at what God said to Elijah.
(1 King 19:18) Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

If you believe in God it is for your own good, if you don't that is your own problem. I will not bear your name on the day of judgment, I can only advise you to do what is right but I cannot force you because God has given everyone of us freewill, we all have the power to make our decisions.

Just remember that live is short, some people saw yesterday but didn't see today, some of the people that saw today will not see tomorrow. We are all passers-by in this world, whether we die young or old, we are definitely going to die one day, death is inevitable. What really matters is where will go after we die.

Don't you understand that everything you have is not going into the grave with you. Even if you have all the money in the world and you are the most respected person in the world, you will still die one day whether you worship God or not. A lot of knowledgeable people are dead, a lot of scientists are dead, a lot of rich men are dead, a lot of great entrepreneurs are dead, a lot of celebrities and famous people are dead, etc. Even my great grandmother that lived for up to 100 years is dead, so what is life that we fancy it so much.

This proud body that is making us commit sin will eventually become dust again by then what will be left is our soul. If out of proud or ignorance you refuse to obey God while you are on earth, how will you feel if you discover that Heaven and hell is actually real when Jesus comes back or after your death? I hope you make the right decision before it's late.

Christ never used sword, Jesus telling his disciples to get a sword was symbolical.

matt6:5-6 was referring to private prayer not public prayer.

Adultery is not allowed, but an adulterer can be forgiven if he or she confesses and turn away from it.

Jesus went into Galilee many times both before John was sent to prison and after he was arrested

Godly virgins are important, repentant non-virgins are also important. Jesus did not condemn non-virgins. Mary Magdalene is the name of a repentant prostitute, yet it is known by all Christians today, she is the first person to see Jesus after His resurrection and she is the one that was recorded to worship Jesus so greatly, she even wiped her hair on the feet of Jesus, what a great revelation.

I might be wrong about the creator of this thread, he might have good intentions for creating this thread. He might not just understand what his words mean to some people. I am not a Saint either, I have spoken this way to some people in the past before I understood the hurt it was doing to them. Don't try to make people pay for their past sins, just tell them to repent.

If I believe in my works it means I am an hypocrite because I wouldn't have been a virgin if I was not privileged to grow up in a good and conducive environment and if I did not have the opportunity to listen to the right preaching at the right time. My parent looked after me greatly when I was young, it was later I understood the Spirtual importance of keeping my body Holy. Whatever will have or attain in the world is by the grace of God. We have to try not to mock others or put them down because we could have been the ones in their shoes.

Beware of hypocrites, just like the pharisees they love to put others down and they pretend to be so perfect. They judge and condemn people to make them feel inferior. Those deceitful and evil words coming from them is definitely not from God, it is Satan that loves accusing people and reminding them of their past sins. Ignore their words, only follow the words of the Bible. Don't allow anybody to judge you. If you are a sinner you are not condemned, just repent and turn away from your sinner ways.

Matthew 24:36 proves that Jesus limited Himself totally to the level of a human being and came to the world. In Matthew 24:36, Jesus was only saying His human knowledge is limited but not His Godly knowledge, nobody (no human being or angel) knows but God definitely knows. Now, that Jesus is with His Father and He is back to His Godly form He knows the agreed date.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one and they work together in unity. Just like husband and wife are not two but one and they always try to work together in unity.

(Genesis 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Sin against the Holy Spirit is not forgivable like sin against Jesus. Jesus has a limited knowledge to the father. It sure means they are not equal.

You just keep showing your level of ignorance. How can you say the knowledge of Jesus, the second person of the Trinity, the Messiah is limited. Jesus was only explaining that though, He (the Son), His Father and the Holy Spirit are equal but they all have different roles and their reactions are different. He was explaining that He (the Son) forgives easily.

This is the prophesy about the Messiah.
(Isaiah 9:6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This is where Jesus claimed that He is the Messiah.

God is our shepherd, for Jesus to also be our shepherd that means He is definitely God.
