NwaliE01:I never said you should vote for Buhari. That is strictly your business. I gave credit to Jonathan when he was building his projects. The FG has long-term plans, most of which will not be completed in one leader's tenure. One example is the national rail masterplan that will cost around 50 billion dollars in total and is set to connect every state in Nigeria by high speed rail. The completed Abuja-Kaduna line is just the start of it. These are not the sort of projects you talk about ''who started and completed it''. These are long term projects, and there are many more of such plans and projects by the FG. Nigeria has gone beyond the ''start one small project and finish it in two years''. The national rail network will likely be completed in FIFTEEN to TWENTY years time. THAT is what we call development. |
Maxymilliano:Oh we see that everyday. That's boring. I'm sure you have no problem blaming Buhari for all that poverty, even though you have a problem praising him for any of our successes. Two-faced twit. |
NwaliE01:I don't give a flying fu.c.k if Buhari did not ''initiate and complete'' a single project in his three years as president, insofar as he has continued building what was being built by Jonathan across the country, from roads to power plants, and from airports to bridges and railways. It takes MONEY to keep funding those projects, and he is putting in the money. CONTINUITY is far more important to Nigerians than starting new projects, unless you are a thief looking for contracts to loot. Plus I don't know how old you are but historically, our problem in Nigeria has been that leaders would come into power, and abandon or neglect the projects being built by the previous leaders in order to generate new contracts and loot money. Buhari is different. He is not on your level so you won't understand. |
Maxymilliano:Mumu. How does ''Nigeria under Buhari'' translate in your head to ''Buhari built everything you are about to see''? I'll just put this down to your low IQ. |
Mutemenot:It is YOUR HEAD that is politically motivated. If I had posted pictures of displaced persons and poverty-stricken folks with the same headline, would you have complained? Would you have said ''Buhari did not make them poor. Please remove his name from your title''? Thought not. Buhari should be blamed for your challenges, but not praised for your progress. Two-faced twit. |
ETHIX:Buhari's name should not appear? Is Buhari not the president? Sometimes I wonder if some of you drink ogogoro before coming on NL. |
hucienda:Simple. The thread title says it all. Any smart person should know that this is not saying ''Projects built by Buhari''. Some were built by him. Some were continued by him. Some were maintained by him or his cohorts etc etc.. We need to stop this nonsense of only judging leaders by the projects they initiate themselves. This is what leads to the abandoned project syndrome we all complain about. Leaders must be equally credited for the continuation of their predecessors' projects, and the continued maintenance of ALL projects in the country, regardless of who built them or when they were built. |
Maxymilliano:SO WHAT? Nobody claimed Buhari built everything we see in Nigeria. Use your head. |
ETHIX:If your brain was working properly, you'd know that it is not who has ''done'' anything that we are particularly concerned about on this thread, but rather a simple celebration of the country's continued progress under the current leader. |
Maxymilliano:Is it not in Nigeria? |
Dutchbraht:Nothing in the thread title suggests we are claiming Buhari or the FG alone built everything in Nigeria. You're obviously not very smart. |

Dutchbraht:Corruption is most certainly not worse under Buhari than under Jonathan, unless you've been living in a cave somewhere. Secondly, one thing you need to realise is that nations can prosper and develop in spite of corruption. Conversely, low levels of corruption do not guarantee development. On Transparency International's index, there are countries with as much, or nearly as much corruption as Nigeria, yet are farther ahead in development. Countries like Russia and Ukraine for instance. Conversely, Ghana, according to the index, is far less corrupt than China, India, Bosnia, Argentina etc, yet where are they in terms of development? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index So it is not ALL about corruption. Focusing solely on that allows people like you to shirk from your individual and collective responsibilities to the country. Citizen action. What are YOU doing to make the country better? ''Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.'' - John F. Kennedy |
Dutchbraht:You went to 3 states out of 36, and from that concluded that ''nothing has changed in Nigeria since 2008''. Are you well at all? Nigeria is the seventh largest oil producer in the world and still the poverty capital of the world. Nigeria has more people living in extreme poverty than India with almost ten times it's population.Go and study and research. Your problem is that you don't study and inquire. If you did you would realise that the oil income is mere peanuts for a country of 200 million people. Our annual budget is a mere 25 billion dollars. South Africa's annual budget is over 120 billion dollars. Nigeria is simply not as rich as many of you people think. You mentioned UAE. UAE has larger oil reserves than Nigeria, and exports double what we do annually, and has a population of just 9 million people. Why will UAE not look like heaven? Yet you made a post wondering why Nigeria was not like UAE. I mean, you people are so pompous and loud in your criticism, yet you know nothing. Totally ignorant. What YOU should do, instead of blaming everyone else around you, is take a leaf from the INNOSONs of our country. The DANGOTEs of our country. People who against all odds, YET STILL believed in Nigeria. Invested in Nigeria, and set Nigeria on the road to economic diversification to make the country more prosperous. In China, the largest employers of labour till today are mom and pop manufacturing outfits, set up in their home BACKYARDS. There they build everything from watches to handbags, which they export to places like Nigeria. Until WE take it into OUR HANDS individually, to help build this nation, and stop looking to foreigners to supply us with everything, but have the self-confidence and racial self esteem to BUILD FOR OURSELVES, you will still be here in thirty years time hoping the tiny oil money will make you become ''like UAE''. |
Dutchbraht:Where and where did you go in Nigeria to know that ''nothing has changed''? Is Nigeria a single town or a village? How many airports have you been to ''in the world'' to know that Lagos Airport is the ''worst in the world''? Is your ''world'' not a ''world'' that comprises only the USA and Europe, throw in a couple of Asian countries? Ignorant little dunce. I will take you to some airports in the REAL WORLD that will make you BEG to be returned to Lagos Airport. The problem as I say, is that your colonial mentality means you don't actually KNOW the world. You know a very TINY fraction of it, which you foolishly have come to regard as the 'whole world', like a baby asked to bathe himself who only washes his belly. |
Dutchbraht:First of all, MAJORITY OF COUNTRIES ON EARTH TODAY do NOT have ''24 hr power supply''. I once listed scores of nations here with links to their regular power outages and many were surprised, because to them it was ''only in Nigeria'' that they ''take light'. You DULLARDS won't know this because for you, ''abroad'' means only Europe and the US - less than a sixth of the world population. If you travelled around the REAL WORLD, featuring countries of the type I mentioned above, you'd realise that Nigeria's problems are common to MAJORITY of nations on earth. Get rid of your colonial mentality. Take a trip to Honduras, Uganda, or Cambodia on your next trip overseas, instead of US or UK. See that majority of nations have issues. More Indians send their children to school overseas than Nigerians. Do you see Indians insulting their leaders because of that? I mean, you people should travel to the REAL WORLD. Then you might just end up not hating yourself and Nigeria so damn much. |
Dutchbraht:OH SHUT IT, slaveboy. Since the white man left Nigeria, power generation, education, road and rail infrastructure, etc have risen by over 10,000 percent. FACT. WE ARE very LUCKY THEY WERE DRIVEN OUT. We are not where we want to be yet, but WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY from where we were when they were here, misruling and looting the country. Now shut your trap and be grateful for independence, because without that, YOU would today be an illiterate village farmer, hunter, or shoe shiner like your grandad was under British rule. |
Dutchbraht:Mumu. Did you ask how much the British looted between 1897 and 1960, before calling for them to return and rule you? By comparison the amounts THEY stole ran into several TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS in today's money. Your brain only comes alive when it's time to hate and criticise your own people. But whites can come here and kill, destroy and loot your land, even cart off your ancient treasures to place in their museums, and give you a bible, and that would make you shut your eyes in prayer while they loot your country more, and when they go, you will be calling for them to come back to loot more. Olodo. Maybe they put some juju in that bible that turns you into a mumu whenever it comes to them. |
Dutchbraht:Why do self haters like you always mention the same 3 or 4 Asian Tigers when displaying your hatred for yourselves? Are those the only countries on earth? You should have hundreds of examples, not just three. Leave the UAE out of it because that is a tiny nation of two million with bucketloads of oil. The 3 or 4 Asian tigers were deliberately created by the West after WW2 to act as a capitalist barrier against rampaging Soviet communism. The west funded them tremendously, transferred technology and opened western markets to their products and manufactured goods in an unprecedented fashion. THAT WAS HOW THEY BECAME 'TIGER ECONOMIES'. If it was due to their own 'genius' how come Burma and Cambodia are ''shithoies''? How come children are starving in North Korea? How come Nepal and Bangladesh are suffering serious underdevelopment? These are all brothers and neighbours of South Korea and Singapore. So why the huge difference in their level of development? It was the artificial intervention by the west in the tiger economies. Without that intervention, South Korea and Singapore would be no different from Burma and Cambodia. |
kYjelly2:Don't give me that bullshiit ''not everything is the whites' fault'' slaveboy line. I never said ANYTHING was ''their fault''. I simply asked the guy who requested they ''return to rule'' to GET THE FCK OUT OF HERE. As for ''getting it right'', it will take SEVERAL DECADES MORE for Nigeria to become a developed country. Perhaps even a century. That is nothing to be ashamed of. Eighty percent of countries on earth are developing nations like Nigeria. It is our colonial mentality that makes us imagine that everywhere 'abroad' is Germany or USA. Meanwhile those are the exceptions in a world dominated by developing nations - the likes of Peru, Bangladesh, Sudan, India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Niger, Uganda, Chile, Turkey, Chad, Zambia, Albania, Jamaica, Mali, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Nepal, Burma, and Ethiopia amongst others. These are places which, to the average Nigerian, might as well not exist. Their white conditioned mind has told then the only places worth visiting, or learning about are Western Europe or the US. And if Nigeria is not like those two, then we have ''failed''. Disgusting way to look at the world, and life itself. |
kYjelly2:Bullcrap. His WHOLE intent was to call for a return of the colonialists, using our nation's ills as his excuse. Maybe he's a foreign plant, who knows? The whole idea that British rule was 'better' is UTTERLY DISGUSTING, because it is predicated on LIES. The reason our grandparents and great grandparents left us with nothing, and were illiterate village peasants, was because the British LOOTED the economy for a century and put nothing back, with near zero investment in public education or anything else. FACT. At least today, if you are fed up wth Nigeria, you have the education and skills to emigrate to the UK, US, China etc, thanks to post-colonial black govts' investment in mass public education. Our grandparents under the British didn't have that option. They were stark illiterates who knew nothing outside their village farms, thanks to colonial neglect. Thank your lucky stars for independence. |
Dutchbraht:GO TO HELL, YOU FOREIGNER PRETENDING TO BE A NIGERIAN. When the British were here for nearly a century, what did they do? Why was Nigeria an underdeveloped bush at independence without running water, electricity, basic healthcare services, roads, or even a single university or power plant, after a whole century of British rule? ALL THEY DID WAS LOOT OUR RESOURCES, and you have the AUDACITY to say they should come back and do what? JUST GET THE FUC.K OUT OF HERE. Our leaders may be corrupt, but they are ONE THOUSAND TIMES BETTER than the colonialists. Get that basic fat into your thick skull. |
tiger28:Not surprising. When I encountered Dora Akunyili in real life at a wedding, she shoved me away roughly when there was this white guy she was walking up to meet. They all suffer from deep racial inferiority complex. I'm certain she told her kids to marry whites or light skinned people only, cos that is all they marry. Worthless. |
Deltatoto:Like your mother's dirty pussy. Bastard. |
THE PROBLEM WITH OUR INNOVATORS, SUCH AS THIS GUY, IS THAT THEY ARE TOO QUICK TO RELEASE THEIR DESIGNED MODELS BEFORE THEY ARE COMPLETED OR PRESENTABLE. Maybe out of desperation to gain praise or admiration. THAT GUY COULD HAVE BEEN PATIENT, AND BUILT OUT THAT VEHICLE PROPERLY, AND AT LEAST COVERED IT WITH SOMETHING. I MEAN, HOW HARD CAN THAT BE? HONESTLY, IT IS OUR INFERIORITY COMPLEX AS A PEOPLE THAT MAKES US PRODUCE THESE MEDIOCRE, UGLY RUBBISH AND EXPECT PRAISE FOR IT, BECAUSE WE REASON THAT WE'RE ''TRYING''. WE ASSUME ONLY 'WHITE PEOPLE' CAN BUILD A PROPER VEHICLE. OUR OWN IS JUST ''TO TRY''. WE NEED TO GET RID OF THAT INFERIOR MINDSET. This is the same way we give Chinese people contracts to lay down rail lines. If we cannot lay down rail lines - the most basic of technologies - then pray, what can we actually do? |
anyicash:Because that was not what you decided to be before you were born. Before we were born, we were alive in the real world, also known as the 'spirit world'. That is our real home. We decide what sort of life we want to live as humans, before we are born into this world. Believe it or not, you could have VERY easily decided to be a billionaire in this earth life. But your Higher Self does not decide to come to earth for merely material reasons. Most spirits decide to be born as humans on earth to experience certain things, or learn certain lessons that have to do with Soul Development. All spirits are immortal souls. Each one of us, is an IMMORTAL, POWERFUL SOUL. In the Real World - of 'spirits ', earthly wealth means very little, if anything, to the average Soul there. Souls live in total abundance in heaven or wherever we want to call that realm. So why would a soul want to come to earth to experience the same abundance? That is why most people are poor or just average. Only very few people are billionaires and millionaires. To US in this scarcity-ridden physical world, financial wealth appears to be all that matters. But it's really just another experience, out of millions of others, looking at it from the Spirit World, our real home. |
Next2Bezee:Actually, you thoughtless dunce, the vast majority of problems we have in Nigeria today are as a result of the adoption of FOREIGN traditions and ways, FOREIGN political and administrative systems, and FOREIGN religions. It is only in NIGERIA that it is ok for parents to sell their daughters for money and foodstuff.Oh SHUT UP, you liar. It is most definitely NOT only in Nigeria that bride price is paid. It is paid in most African countries. It is paid in India, Pakistan, the Middle East, and South America. It is one of the oldest traditions on earth, and will most definitely NOT be abolished because a goat like you says he doesn't like it. |
jossy26:So let me get this straight. You do not believe it is real because you could not see the inside of the building while passing the airport, and therefore it must be fake news, correct? Sometimes I wonder if we need to conduct IQ tests before allowing people to post on this forum. Compound goat. |
Pictures of Jonathan's completed airport projects: https://www.nairaland.com/1392914/pictures-all-remodelled-airports-across |
A year or two ago, some GOAT posted images of the makeshift portion of the old airport that was being used as a temporary airport while they were building this new terminal, and was using it to INSULT Nigeria, and claim it showed how useless the country was, etc etc. Many others supported him. I was one of the few that noted that there was a brand new terminal under construction, and that that was a makeshift arrangement to allow for flights to continue. I remember even one useless foreign group listed the makeshift airport as ''the worst airport in the world'', completely ignoring its makeshift status, and many here joined in condemning the country. Now some of them will come here praising the new airport. Mumu people. |
hisgrace090:What do you mean ''if true''? You think they may have stolen the images from Dubai? Mumu man. |
Or people are blind. That is the problem. The mere fact alone that they worship a WHITE MAN they call ''Jesus'' shows they are a lost people. This WHITE MAN they worship was introduced to them by the same people that enslaved them for four hundred years, and later invaded, slaughtered, and colonised them for another hundred years, looting their country and enriching themselves. It's like an armed robber who comes into your house and removes all your property, and then puts a charm around your neck to make you forget what he did, so you can be worshiping him, and forget to ask for a return of your stolen property. |
