I don’t know why people will say hand made block will be stronger than machine made sand Crete block, when you used same ratio for both (same quantity of sand, cement )to produce same quantities of block

do one need pressure pipes to run waste through the chambers to the soakaway. I just got i quote for 20 pieces of 6' pressure pipe at 5.5k each and sundry sizes of pressure pipes for this external plumbing work. It sounds odd to me.

what size/type does one need to run waste chambers and soakaway things.
the insight will be appreciated.

It’s May sound odds to the people who are not in that field. Actually the plumber is right, not al plumber know this.
The system is that when you have lager number of toilet in a building ( especially commercial building) such system of introducing bigger diameter of pipe like 4.5-6’ is advisable to eliminate blockage of chambers.

When I said we have been using this device for long not 2,5,10 yrs to detect leakage ... yes I mean what I said.

Don’t forget we do filled the container with water before carry out the test.

I will find time to explain the process or post the Vedio later here when time permits to do so.

Same process with smoke test. The leakage point will show.

Oh edo state is far for this.
More so we have been using this machine for long to detect any leakage either new or old building.

When I handle the project of this thread owner HAJJI MUFUTAU plumbing work I used it there not only him , we do use it for all our plumbing/mechanical work.

Lastly in plumbing there are 3ways to test for leakage.
Pressure test.
Gradient test.
Smoke test.

Just throwing this out here incase someone has ever experienced this, and was able to resolve it.

The overhead tank in my apartment..usually lasts 2 to 3 days before........however...of recent, it only lasts 6 to 10hrs.
We hv checked everywhere, no leaks were observed, yet leak persists.
2 apartments + a security mans housr is in the compound

Kindly suvgest possible solution to this. Issue

If your location is in Lagos or Ogun state we can carry out what we called Pressure test for you to determine where the leakage is.

the WC might be the culprit to look out for, some of the toilet WC might be overflowing or is it over-floating they say, let all occupants in the building check their toilets WC I'm sure the problem is from there. you lose water from there too.

We have an undeveloped property in Mangoro, When the rains got very heavy coupled with the opened dam, water entered into our neighbors house from the Foundation, All the tiles opened up. Affected 2 rooms and the parlor.

What could be the issue and any insight to how to get ti resolved.

We are thinking of continuing our own property cos we are in the foundation stage, Kindly advise on what to do so that we dont have that kind of issue in our own house when we done.

It’s never too late now that you are in foundation stage.
Go and look for a professional to handle the project for you.

About your neighbor issue many thing can cause it, low foundation level, poor job, etc,
Quack can not solve the problem let him or her search for a reputable personal in build industry I.e builder to solve the problem once.

You don’t need to disagree with my little explanation / rough estimate idea I gave the OP.

If you are using Nigeria made tiles go and budget about 1.9-2.5milliom naira for tiles only.

If it’s Spanish or Italians tiles N3.5-5m will do for tiles only.


Cement about 300 bags will do.
Sand about 7 lorries of 10 tonnes.
Labor cost about 700-800k
