lolz, alot of people always believe that the Ibos are always best looking than the oda tribes.
Not "a lot of people"... It is some people's way of feeling good about themselves and ridiculing others. There are quite a lot of beautiful women in the north and they don't make noise about it
Romance / Re: Is Being Yoruba The Opposite Of Being Beautiful? by Rotentik19: 11:02am On May 04, 2023
franchasofficia:
The truth is, beautiful and ugly people are found everywhere just as we have rich and poor in all tribes and races too, but the bitter truth is that due to genetic factors, some race or tribe are more physically endowed than others.

Can you compare the Chinese with Arabs when it comes to physical beauty? No. But still, we have beautiful people among Chinese but in generality, Arabs have far more good looking people than Chinese. Even among the Asians with almost similar gene, The Filipinos look far cuter than other Asians like Chinese. Same with Malaysians, etc.

So yes there are beautiful and handsome people in Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Efik, Ibibio, Fulani, Idoma, Bini, Ijaw, etc tribes but there seems to be far more handsome and beautiful looking people among the Igbos than other tribes, these things has to do with genetics, cultural practice, food, etc.

If you check the Igbos very well, they eat vegetables and leafy foods a lot, it forms majority of their diet, and couple with other genetic factors which could be the reason they produce more good looking people than other tribes.

If you check Yoruba food menu, they enjoy oily foods and plenty oil in their meal, coupled with meat. The result of this is that Yoruba women usually have fleshy buttocks because the excess fat from their oil rich diets gets stored around their bombom. Same cultural diet make Fulanis and Hausas very slim and slender with pretty cheeky face.

Dear pretty Miss op, don't let it disturb you, it is a natural human nature to engage in fallacy of hasty generalizations based on some facts. But I tell you, Yoruba men and other tribes men know this and that is part of the reason they try so much to marry an Igbo lady as a wife when they become financially successful, mostly to have good looking children.

If you check on Nairaland, due to the fact that majority of drug trafficking cases in Asia we read here ends up being Igbos, anytime you hear that someone was caught with drugs, the first thing you would assume is that the person must be Igbo. Same way, once we hear a drug trafficking case in Saudi Arabia, we conclude it must be a Yoruba Muslim or an Hausa-Fulani person, and when we hear a ritualist news, we first assume it happened in Ogun or Oyo state.

The world live by generalization fallacies
You really tried to make but failed woefully. If this is how dumb you are, then pls help humanity by not birthing too many kids. So..if the people that marry from your tribe do so because (according to you) they want beautiful children, how about ibos that marry yoruba ladies & even ladies from other tribes. Apparently, you are crude & unexposed. Inter-marriage is a normal practice among humans, the world over. In Nigeria, beauty cuts across all tribes (that's a fact !) There quite a lot of beautiful (yoruba) women even in the villages & so do we have them across other tribes. This is 2023, change your primitive mindset ! Yen yen yen... blabbing nonsense. What about thousands of ibo women that have moustache, beard & other masculine features?

Westerhoffe:
I've never won the defense argument that I am not Igbo from both Yorubas and Igbos I have met. So I just walk away.

One idiot had to tell me to go and question my mum or go for a DNA test because I don't look Yoruba.

The only elderly woman to accept I'm Yoruba after scrutinizing me said she's familiar with my tribe that they're always good-looking.

I'll be speaking my native dialect and they'd still be asking if I'm Igbo. The worst comes from Igbos. angry

It's disgusting to think or have that mentality that Yorubas are not handsome/beautiful.
That's because certain ethnic groups in Nigeria are annoyingly stereotypical due to: bigotry and crass ignorance. To be honest, every tribe in Nigeria, has some sort of bias against another tribe. One idiot on this platform even said Yoruba should work on their hygiene. So... because you know one or two Yorubas who aren't hygienic, then all the millions of Yorubas that exist are dirty ?

Kingcalls:
Tinubu that claimed that he fought Abacha for stealing mandate ends up doing same...the same yoruba man that accused Abacha of looting ends up doing the same ... the same yoruba man that said Abacha is forcing himself on the masses is doing the same now ... Igbos supported the yorubas in 93 and 99 ,saying it was yorubas turn to rule... but this wicked Tinubu decides to steal the mandate of an Igbo Man, knowing fully well that an Igbo Man has not seen presidency or Vp since 99...and u say this country is of equity and equality.... any person that supports what Inec did on Saturday is a tribal bigot..I hv marked their moniker, let me see the fool that will scream that the whites are racists
Oga keep quiet. Igbo have never and will never support anything that has to do with Yoruba. This is a well known fact.

You guys are by far the most bigoted and tribalistic lot in this clime. The whole of Nigeria fought the annulment of the 1993 election except (of course) the Igbo. Arthur Nzeribe and his group of "never do wells" vehemently opposed Abiola, sacrificed water & blood, just to see that his mandate wasn't restored.

The South East was the only region MKO didn't win in 1993. Time will not permit me to go into the details of the political history of the igbo vs yoruba, but it is on record that: the Igbo have NEVER pitched their political tent with the Yoruba.
Right from the days of Zik & Awo.

Awolowo made several attempts to unite the south by proposing a coalition government with Azikiwe but the latter reneged on initial agreements only to pitch tent with the north.

Azikiwe went as far as conniving with Balewa to jail Awo unjustly. Fast forward to 1999, the presidency was thrown open to the South. Ekwueme contested against Obasanjo and lost. It is common knowledge that votes from the north helped Obj to win.
So...stop selling cheap lies to the uninformed.
As regards the just concluded election, God knows I'm indifferent. I don't see a messiah in any of Tinubu, Atiku and Obi.
In my honest opinion the election was peaceful compared to the ones we've done in the past.
According to you, everybody came out to vote and therefore Obi won the election.
That's grossly illogical. Except you can prove to me or better still to INEC that every single person voted Obi. Even in the east Obi didn't garner 100% votes let alone the north and South.
I'm not a Tinubu supporter, but let's not be unduly emotional about such a sensitive issue. With all the alleged irregularities, if Obi was declared winner, would you have cried foul ? If your candidate is disgruntled, let him go to court. The law has no regard for your sentiments !

Make I settle dis matter once & for all...😁
Honestly, I don't have the full details of whatever transpired between the duo....but peter obi's 'fans' should be able take what they've been dishing out to the rest of Nigerians.

If the word "Opportunist" was all he used to qualify peter obi, then that could easily pass for a compliment when juxtaposed with the many unprintable words igbos have used(and are still using) against the other candidates and their respective kinsmen.
These guys have a very 'Un-nationalistic' mentality & tendencies which is quite dangerous to the existence of other tribes in Nigeria.
So....it is ok to bash tinubu, atiku and co... but a crime to criticise obi ?
The Kaduna Nzeogwu coup of 1966 in which all regional leaders were murdered gruesomely & only the igbo leaders were spared, and the connivance of nnamdi azikiwe with the north against Obafemi Awolowo & by extension the Yoruba and the hostility of the igbo against MKO Abiola(the eastern region was the only place he lost in 1993) and the hatred the igbo openly express against the Yoruba(even on their own soil) even to this day...says a lot about them...

You can drag all you want...the truth is bitter. What we practise in Nigeria is 'politics of tribalism' and nothing close to democracy.

No one will take her serious now she is doing whatever she can to put food in her stomach and you are insulting her may God punish you idiot.

On this same nairaland forum just yesterday I asked Nigerians for help let me get something to eat up till this very moment there has been no comment on that post even after 49 views no one cared to ask me just one question to know how they can help despite the fact that I even gave out my account number in public.

So if I decide to go and do prostitution later you will start calling me shameless isn't it ?
This is laughable...to say the least...so aside prostitution and begging, you can't make money through any other means?

Wait for them to tell you how her private part is slackened, and she's greedy, and she's looking for a dark, handsome, 6ft man with a billion dollars (like there are any in Nigeria to begin with), how she rejected all her suitors and is arrogant, how she was 20 and running them in circles, how the problem lies with her at her age, how she's got a hellish behavior, how she's not actually a virgin. grin

It is never the fault of the men she met.

I seriously pity any woman above 35 who is unmarried. The mocking and pressure must be intense on her. Imagine this being a forum of over 1M people, supposedly international, and the garbage that daily spills fourth about women is still unchecked. This place is 50 years behind in reasoning.
Guy you do have a point truly...If a person doesn't get married on time...two things are involved; it's either your fault or not your fault...if for instance, a man is delayed in marriage, it is most likely his fault & men are not afraid to own up. However what other guys on this thread are trying to tell u is that more often than not, women are the architect of their own misfortune. We know that there are factors beyond our control as humans, but even @ that, there are certain things we can avoid. I've witnessed ladies on a wheelchair being proposed to(God is my witness) so my conclusion is that; no matter how a lady looks or how bad u think her character is, there will be someone who desires her ! so if a lady of 30 & above is unmarried, she probably had passed opportunities unknowingly. Peace !

I don't think the marriage thing is a male / responsibility factor...you need to see the level of toxic feminism the average young woman out there has...so entitled, proud and shallow. (No bashing sisters) but if you want to marry in this tough country and times, pls learn the act of being peaceful and making your personal space a comfort zone - No man will devalue a woman who gives him peace not for anything.

Please learn from ur mothers
Being disrespectful doesn't make you woke
Being rude and arrogant doesn't make you woke.
Being woke is being progressively informed.
