Hello all, I have a bit of a challenge with my Volkswagen passat 2007 FSI. Whenever it's parked under the sun for a while or the interior gets hot due to sunny weather and I try to start. It starts and goes off in 2-3 seconds and pops up the error code "immobilizer active". The only way to start it is to do an ECU override by removing battery terminals and wait for 15 minutes, connect them back and start. This doesn't happen during cool or cold weather

Note: I have changed remote batteries yet the problem persists. It's an insert to start key. Please help!!

I've never driven a Ford but I drive one of the most feared cars in Nigeria a Volkswagen, most people called me stupid for buying it, some were even saying money wey you for use buy corolla or camry you use am go buy problem. Volkswagen electrical problems go carry you go village. Here I am still enjoying my ride. Before you buy the Ford, first locate a Ford mechanic not a kazeem that works on Japanese and American cars but a good mechanic that works on only Ford brands or General motors.

Go for inspection with the specified mechanic, run series of test using your OBD2 scanner. Be keen in your inspection. If your mechanic ok's the car then you do a rugged test drive on long distances, if possible fuel the car. If all is done and you are satisfied you can pay. Remember most of these new gen cars are not good for swimming water and be ready to be a DIY person. Scan the vehicle before any repair is done. Good luck

I no talk say Volks no be sweet ride. In fact, its fuel economy is superb. I do not pray U have an electrical issue with it. U must take it to specialist who will bill you. If you risk taking it to inexperience personnel, pray it does not get worse.

no truer words than this. Volks is a sweet German car but it doesn't tolerate oga off an oga on am na horn de work am type of electrician. It requires in depth diagnosis and when I mean diagnosis you'd need to scan it. Volks too doesn't tolerate abuse, it relies on sensors. And if you must drive a volks you need to be meticulous and get ready for some DIY

My 2007 2.0 FSI (Auto Tranny) is suffering in the hands of "Oga on am, off am" mechanic.

I have an EPC error and need to get my throttle system checked. Fuel and Air systems are OK.
Gearbox kicks while shifting gears. Car goes off during drive.
