I think nairaland is long over due... I remembered when Seun first started this forum, the energy was high, there was massive energy and he relates well with people, These days, Nairaland is fast becoming a joke, all sorts of posts make it to FP, mods ban as if they get paid in banning members, tribalism is the 2nd name of Nairaland, This forum is meant to be a replica of Reddit and to be a role model to others, but it's quite sad, nairaland seems to be loosing it, your website these days goes offline just like that..

These are my suggestions..

1. Please get more people to help you: NL is getting bigger and you need more hands to help you get this dream done, imagine if Mark is the only one in charge of FB, I know by now, he would have been dead
2. Organise a seminar or in house trainning for your mods... I wont say more on this
3. Rebrand Nairaland: This look has remained the same for past 5 years I guess, when you are not God, its only God that changeth not, pls, have some designers to help redesign NL to change the look

Lastly, I know it's not easy managing people, especially Nigerians, but I belive you can achieve better and please always make your self available and check what's happening in some sections... I really commend Lalasticlala, the guy has been trying and he has been up and doing... Other mods, I can't say.

Built by Ponet TFZE, the train with a cruising speed of about 40 kilometres per hour, has 12 cars, including 10 passenger and two equipment cars.

The multi-billion Naira Calabar Light rail project, the first in Nigeria, would soon be inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari.The 12-car monorail system, when fully operational, would use an Intamin P8 electric powered passenger shuttle train to convey passengers from Tinapa Resort, across Lake Tinapa to Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC).

The monorail would also allow access to Studio Tinapa, Tinapa Shopping Centre and Tinapa waterpark as well as provide a quick alternative access to Summit Hills.

Each car is primed for seven to eight passengers all seated, while the train’s length, width and height are approximately 38, 1.95 and 2.2 metres, respectively.

Joseph Yobo,35, has agreed to join Northern club, Kano Pillars after the NPFL club beat three other clubs to his signature.

Alhaji Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the League Management Company, LMC, in an interview with Completesportsnigeria on Tuesday revealed that Kano Pillars is the club that appealed most to the footballer and can meet his demands.
"Kano Pillars", Dikko replied when Completesportsnigeria.com asked him which club Yobo will eventually play for in his celebrated return to the Nigerian domestic top flight.

When asked further on when Yobo will turn out for Kano Pillars, who have won four league titles, Dikko said;

"For now, that is being worked out, but we're looking at the next (home) game," Dikko said on Tuesdayduring the unveiling of the LMC partnership deal with Star beer, as the official beer of the Nigeria Professional Football League at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

Joseph Yobo is an ambassador of the Nigerian Professional Football League and it is hoped that his presence in the league will help increase stadium turn out and also improve the league.

A 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl are presently receiving treatment at a private hospital after their 'deadly' stepmother allegedly broke the head. left hand, right leg and of the hapless toddlers.

Officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are currently on the trail of a wicked step mother identified as Hasiya, after she broke the head of a 2-year-old boy, Abdulrahman Abubakar and also broke the left hand and right leg of a 4-year-old girl, Maryam Abubakar, at their father’s house located in NDC in Igabi LGA of Kaduna state.

The toddlers are presently receiving treatment at a private hospital in the state after their stepmother fled the house after security agencies came looking for her at their residence on Monday evening.

The mother of the children, Halima, who spoke to a DailyTrust correspondent in the hospital on Tuesday, said she and her husband started having problems 12 days after her son was born which brought to an end, their three year old marriage.

“Initially, the children were living with me after we separated, but immediately I weaned my son, the father came and took the children away first to his parents’ house and then to his wife. On Monday, I was on my way to the market when I got a call from the father of my children that my son was on admission at the hospital.

“I quickly rushed there and when I saw the condition my son was in, I was devastated. He could hardly breathe and he had bruises on his eye, his head, his stomach and his private part. The doctor told me that the fracture on my son’s hand and leg were two weeks old, and I learnt he was not able to walk and was taken to a traditional bonesetter who obviously had not been able to fix the fracture.

“My son is being treated for a broken hand, a broken leg and bruises on his eye, stomach, back and private part while my daughter is being treated for a broken head after their step mother used the sole of a pointed shoe to hit her head. They were also starved in the house because if you see the way they gulped down the tea my sister made for them. The people in the hospital can bear me witness,” she said.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has condemned the Tuesday’s invasion and seal off of the residence of former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso by armed policemen to prevent a mass wedding programme, reiterating his earlier warning that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters have built dictatorship round President Buhari by not joining other Nigerians to condemn his undemocratic acts.
The governor, who said he was more concerned about the rape of democracy and the rule law under the APC government of President Buhari, added that; “The fact that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is of the ruling APC should worry well-meaning Nigerians because it appears no one will be spared by this anti-democracy agents that have taking over Nigeria.”

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, by the Special Assistant to governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose wondered where it was written in the laws of Nigeria that Nigerians must obtain Police permit to hold wedding ceremony or even to assemble in private residence. The statement read;

“When they invaded the Akwa Ibom State Government House with armed men of the Department of State Security (DSS), I raised alarm then and I did warn that Nigeria was being returned to 1984 when President Buhari ruled the country like a maximum ruler. “When I said Nigerians irrespective of their political parties should rise in condemnation of the President Buhari’s government emerging dictatorship, many of our friends in the APC opted to keep silent. Some even hailed the Department of State Security (DSS) when the service invaded the Ekiti State House of Assembly and abducted a member of the House.

“Last week Wednesday, when the police sealed off the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Port-Harcourt and blocked the road leading to the Old Presidential Lodge of the Rivers State Government House where I and other PDP leaders were accommodated, our friends in the APC kept silent. Some even hailed the police! “However, as a Nigerian and ardent lover of democracy and rule of law, I have elected to once again condemn the yesterday’s armed policemen invasion and seal off of the private residence of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and I hope that this time around, our friends in the APC will realise that no one will be spared by the time this emerging dictatorship reaches its peak.

“Nigerians should realise that with the bullying of Kwankwaso, a two term governor, former minister of defence and serving senator, it is now very clear that the APC government will even be intolerant of opposition within the party, not to talk of external opposition and men of good conscience should prevail on President Buhari to caution the security agencies to be mindful of foisting tyranny on Nigerians.”
