potof_soup:So is this how we do things now? I thought this is only for Arabs, cause it does not make sense to me,maybe because there are no 11 virgins waiting for me in heaven,as an African all my virgins are here in Africa, ask King Mswati of Swaziland ![]() Arabs are a crazy bunch, they throw stones at the shell spewing tanks, they launch homemade missiles, mcgyvers style to Israel teritory, and Israel respond by sending 7-GRIPEN NG that have a 27mm Mauser internal cannon, Raytheon AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles and Raytheon Paveway II laser-guided bombs. Arabs are not as clever as we are made to belief. |

johnie:Ofcourse it won't make sense to those in South Africa who knows that Nigeria is not a multi-race country, but if Seychell run the same advert and a South African say it is "the true rainbow nation" I will probably think that based on her experience Seychells has more multi races than South Africa. And being a South African she is,she sees things with a South African view, colours. . I know that Giant of Africa,is a Nigerian thing, you don't find anyother nation in Africa using it except Nigerians,So when this lady says South Africa is the true Africa Giant, she was answering or questioning what she has always believed in as a Nigerian. And don't forget that this is people experience in their own words and the advert is targeting audiences all over the world, not just Nigeria. |
This is a man who wanted to be the President of Africa. |
Based on the article quoted by Johnie, there was no script given to the Somulolu's and other couples,it was their pure experiences, their own words. The giant of Africa,is a Nigerian line,South Africans don't use that line,we prefers to say we're the rainbow nation, the most beautiful country in the continent but we definetely don't call our self the giant. And looking at where Somulolu's come from,Nigeria, explain why they used that line. Its a Nigerian thing. Beside the only giants I know exist in the fairytale, giants are not real, its a fantacy. |

SA navy deploys two ships Erika Gibson, Beeld Pretoria - The defence force, in conjunction with the government, has deployed two of the navy's ships in international waters over the past few weeks, amid growing political tension in West Africa and piracy in the Mozambique Channel. These missions came after the defence force and the government were criticised over the past few months for having the ability to use new ships to assist in international matters, but preferring to keep them anchored in local harbours. The SAS Drakensberg, the navy's warship, was deployed to West Africa about two weeks ago to provide support and especially help out should the political violence in the Ivory Coast necessitate the evacuation of the South African embassy in the country. According to a recent article by Helmoed-Römer Heitman in Jane's Defence Weekly, the Drakensberg will stay in the area for a few weeks. The ship is scheduled to return to South Africa at the end of February. The Drakensberg has two Oryx helicopters and probably also a contingent of the navy's rapid response forces and other specialist soldiers on board. It appeared the ship was deployed out of fear of military intervention by the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) in the Ivory Coast. At the same time, one of the navy's new frigates, the SAS Mendi, headed for Durban a week ago in anticipation of the signing of an agreement aimed at protecting Mozambique against piracy. - Beeld Source: SA Navy deploys two ships - News24.com |
kodewrita:What are you on about? what does HIV got to do with a navy vessel in the atlantic? This topic has got nothing to do with your prejudice and your hatred for South Africa. Just for the record,South African couple where kidnapped by Pirates in the atlantic and the pirates are demanding 10 million dollars ransom,I am not saying the navy is searching for them but we could be patrolling the sea,we are one of the few African countries that have the capacity to patrol our seas, our navy is one of the most equipt in the continent. The only reason South Africa is taking a neutral stance in the Ivory Coast is because Thabo Mbeki was the chief mediator before the election,South Africa beliefs in non violence solution. Our defence minister have released the statement explaining why the ship is in those water. http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13506:drakensberg-complicates-crisis-ecowas&catid=56:diplomacy-a-peace&Itemid=111 Get you facts right before you shows us your ignorance. |
Feb 10, 2011 12:20 AM | By Harriet McLea -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An angry group of more than 70 Nigerians gathered outside the Boksburg North police station last night protesting against the death of a compatriot who died at the station Police spokesman Andre de Jager said the man, known only as "Christian", died "of natural causes" at 4.38pm yesterday. He had been taken to the station by two men who alleged that he was trying to steal from them, but police ''found that there was no case" and he was not taken into custody. "He said that he felt dizzy - he just collapsed and died. He was just sitting and then he just collapsed. Paramedics found him dead," De Jager said. He added that the man's death was under investigation. However, the angry crowd did not believe the official version. Shouting through a fence at the officers in the station, the group yelled: "You have succeeded in killing our brother! Shoot, shoot everybody!" More than 50 heavily armed police officers arrived at the station to monitor the crowd, some carrying firearms loaded with rubber bullets. Inside the police station lawyers, community leaders and police held a meeting to discuss the situation. Attorney Mohale Mabote, who attended the meeting, said two men were arrested for being in possession of drugs. Mabote said he had witnesses who could testify that police were to blame for Christian's death. "We have information from witnesses and the other arrested man that he was assaulted badly and plastic was put on his face by a certain police officer - he suffocated." |

houvest:Nigerian Police are killing civilians on a daily basis in Nigeria and you've decided not to see them.I don't know the real facts behind this story but it has nothing to do with racism nor xenophobia, your brother was probably a criminal who destroyed and killed lots of youngsters and the law finally cought up with him. Your police modernising?please go and lie to someone else,South African police are child play when it come to brutality compare to Nigerian police, they kill, kidnap and toture without fear, they are the law unto themself.Don't tell me nothing bro! |
Tanzania looks well organised.I will always love this country, its leaders and people played a very leading role in the liberation of my people.Tanzania and Zambia have earned my love and respect.Jambo ![]() |

Gbawe:No South African I know blame any Nigeria for Dube's death. Just to set the record straight on the this quote that is quoted without being used in its full context. When one of the killer was asked in court if he didn't know that he was shooting at Lucky Dube,he said No he thought he was a Nigerian drugdealer.Rossentenville is notoriuolsy known for high population of Nigerians who deals in drugs. So the killers thought they where robbing a drug dealer and thought they will get lot of money from him since they know that drug dealers carries a lot of money on them. I don't think it was based on pure hatred for Nigerians, they saw a flashy car in the place that is notoriously known for high drug trafficing mostly run by Nigerians, they decided to rob it thinking that the owner who is a 'drugdealer' will be carrying lot of drugs cash on him, they demanded money and he said he didn't have and they started shooting at him. This is one of many crimes we have in South Africa and it is not different from a guy who was gunned down for his wallet while on his way home. Its a crime that is based on senceless killing.South Africa have to deal with it but I can tell you that those guys had no hatred fr Nigerians. |
Beautiful place ![]() |
The's only one source to this story, but if the story is true then there are places and organisation were people could loudge their complains, this include police brutality, taking bribes and other ills that police induldge in while on duty. I think people who feels that Police broke the law should contact Independence Complain Directorate of South Africa at this address http://www.icd.gov.za/ Personally I think there is more to this story than what is reported. |

Jews behave like the endangered species,No one is allowed to say anything negative about them without being killed or labelled anti-semite and racist. |
The petition, by three Cape Town locals and which has drawn nearly 350 supporters, accuses the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of being a bigot, dishonest and a "defamer of Israel and the Jewish people". "Over the years, Archbishop Tutu has been guilty of numerous anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements," states the campaign on www.thepetitionsite.com. It demands that Tutu resign or be sacked as patron of the Cape Town holocaust centre and the Johannesburg holocaust and genocide centre. "We, the undersigned, are outraged by his malicious distortions, paraded with hypocritical sanctimony and his latest foray into demonising Israel," it said. "Tutu is dishonest when he tries to argue that Israel is a racist society," it added. Tutu, who retired from public life ahead of his 79th birthday last year, is an internationally respected activist whose numerous targets have included Israeli policy toward Palestinians and the occupied territories. Last year he urged the Cape Town Opera to cancel an Israeli trip as Palestinians would not have equal access to the performance, drawing parallels with the international boycott during apartheid South Africa. "That is what sparked the petition," its author David Hersch told AFP. "That's not the main issue, it just was the last straw," he said. The petition, which was launched last month and lists several of Tutu's outspoken comments, rejects his "false, bigoted and politically motivated accusation" that Israel was an apartheid state. It also calls his support for Israeli sanctions "morally repugnant because it is based on horrific and grotesquely false accusations against the Jewish people". The anti-Tutu effort has sparked a counter-petition which had more than 1,500 signatures online. "To call him an anti-Semite, because he has attacked the policies of the Israeli government, is outrageous, renders the term meaningless, and enfeebles the necessary efforts to defeat real anti-Semites and racists," it said. Tutu, who is abroad, will meet the South African Holocaust Foundation on the 25th of January, said his aide Dan Vaughan. "The relationship has been amicable," he said. The South African Zionist Federation, which said it had nothing to do with the petition, said it had suspended Hersch as vice-chairman last year. Hersch denied being suspended. |
Mbeki on Zimbabwe, which could still be relevent to Ivory Coast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNRsoBADW90&feature=channel |
War is never the solution,ECOWAS can topple Ghagbo and install Quatarra but that does not gaurantee peace. It wont mean that Ghagbo people will stop fighting, this war could go on for years and could cripple economy of the rigion. And outbreak of a civilwar in Ivory Coast will distabilise the whole region. And with all the positives, stability and growth in the region war will overturn all this achivements. ECOWAS leaders must not try to please the West, they should try to find the solution on this issue with the region stability in mind.South Africa and SADC nation did that with Zimbabwe,Zimbabwean situation could have been worse,if the right and calm decisions were not taken.Today things are getting back to normal in Zimbabwe, changes will come although slowy but without bloodshed atleast not war. Ivory Coast situation needs calm heads. |
ikeyman00:I am happy you've stated that only 'few' South Africans have said all those negative things, yes South Africa is not corrupt proof,we do get here and there some corrupt policeman or goverment officials just like anywhere in the world including first world countries but majority of people are honest and don't accept bribes, infact you will be arrest in SA if you try to bribe a official. Let me teach you also a little bit about SA politics,Just like IGBO'S in Nigeria who feels that they don't belong in Nigeria, whites South Africans feels the same about this Mandelas South Africa, most of them who use to support the aapartheid feel misplaced in this country, they grew up thinking that a black man could not run a country succesfully, they said we willrundown this country, they said black people are uncivilised and without their control we will turn into animals. They said black people are born corupt, they pointed to mainland Africa as an example. Today those who are still in the country try so hard to find faults in our people, they are still saying all kinds of bad things about us,yet we are treating them well and continue to make even more money in SA which makes it difficult to for them to leave,They drive in some of the most sophisticated road network in Southern hemisphere and Africa, when they visits their friends in eurpe they go thru some the most modern airports in the world, their children go to some of the most well respected universities in the wolrd ,all this in are in the Mandelas South Africa. those who left the country where on the mission of spreading lies and their hateful perceptions about our people in foreign land and still not succeeding, they've said so many lies that when people visit this country they get pleasantly suprised and go back home tell their buddies and come back for more holidays, that is why South Africa is the most visited country in Africa, people don't visit corrupt failed country. And yes most of this hateful, racist South Africans comeback home in their numbers screaming there is nothing like home after they realised that South Africa is in good hands and well runned. We hosted the second if not the biggest international sport, over 500 000 foreigners visited us without a hic,we are now a member of BRIC nations, five biggest emerging markets in the world,if that is not telling you that South Africa is going up then tell me what it means. |
