^Azania when I started commenting on this forum I came with olive leafs in both my hands,I wanted to make peace. As much as we didn't understand Africa I felt that we are also misunderstood by Africa.I was trying to explain and then every body jumped on me calling me and my countrymen names.

Nigerians are born with hatred and jealousy,it is in their DNA.If they don't hate their countrymen eg.Hausa and Igbho,or Yoruba and Igbo then they hate other Africans who are doing better than them eg.Ghana,South Africa or East Africans like Kenya.

Nigeria have the potential to be one the most succesful country in the world, but their people are cursed. They hate mass progress, they are controlled by 'Big man mentality',they all think they know even if they knows nothing. It's a desease and I doubt it has a cure.

I have no problem with this law,or whatever it is.But it will be nice if the very same minister use the same passion and power to arrest corrupt leaders in his goverment, the same goes to all Africa.Africa have bigger problems that need to be addressed than homosexual.Corrupt leaders who killing innocent people inorder to enrich themself are far more worse than two man doing their act.

HOW AFRICA VOTED.

Karen came out top of the standings with eight country votes, and Sharon O got three.

Here's how Africa voted:

Karen: 8 country votes (Rest Of Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Nigeria, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola)
Sharon O: 3 country votes (Uganda, Malawi, Kenya)
Weza: 2 country votes (Tanzania, Ethiopia)
Alex: 1 country vote (Ghana)
Miss P: 1 country vote (Botswana)

Wow! eight country votes for Karen.
This shows that SADC people vote for entertainment not on country or regional loyalty.I just wish Naija peeps could learn from this.

As an African I'm happy with this develoments if it means peace, stability and a growth opportunity which could only be good for the developement of ordinary South Sudannese.

I just hope they have capable leaders with intergrity, who will work to better the lives of this poor people not to enrich themselfs.I hope South Sudan is not going to add to Africa another corrupt failed state to our list.I hear the whole country have only 20 km tarred road,so it means there is a lot of work ahead interms of infrustructure for the leadership of SS.They need to start well, plan well and root out corruption from the beginning if they are to succeed.Good luck to SS.

BusinessRe: Walmart In Nigeria by RSA(m): 11:54am On Jul 01, 2011
Walmart in South Africa

The beast in the bush
A hungry predator stalks Africa

ON FEBRUARY 11th the world’s most successful retailer came a step nearer to establishing a presence in Africa. South Africa’s Competition Commission approved Walmart’s proposed acquisition of a 51% stake in Massmart, a South African firm that owns 265 wholesale and retail stores in South Africa and 25 more in 13 other African countries. Massmart’s shareholders love the 16.5 billion rand ($2.3 billion) deal: 98% of them voted to approve it last month. But South African unions view it like a charging rhino in a narrow alley.

The American giant will bash unions, cut wages and drive more humane employers out of business, shop stewards predict. They also fear that it will source cheap products from China instead of buying locally. Mere talk of the merger has already destroyed “thousands of jobs”, they claim, by forcing other South African retailers to lay off workers and make working conditions worse in preparation for the great American onslaught. The Congress of South African Trade Unions, South Africa’s biggest union group, has threatened to stage “the mother of all boycotts” of Massmart products and a strike at all its stores if Walmart takes over.
The Competition Commission is sceptical of the unions’ claims. It said it had received assurances from the merging parties that they would honour existing union agreements, abide by South Africa’s tough labour laws and source most of their products locally. Massmart insists it has no plans to make any lay-offs. On the contrary, it says it plans to open 54 new stores (net) over the next three years and add 6,300 new hires to its 27,000 employees. Further objections from South African unions and others will be heard by the Competition Tribunal, another official body, next month. It, too, is expected to rule in favour of the deal.

Ten years ago Massmart, which is South Africa’s leading wholesale warehouse business, decided that it needed a global partner. Walmart began sniffing around South Africa three years ago, seeking a toehold on a continent where consumer spending power has risen sharply in the past decade.

The obvious partner was Shoprite, Africa’s biggest grocer. But Massmart increased its allure by rushing into the food-retailing business, and the gamble paid off. Massmart now has 40 grocery stores in South Africa, with many more in the pipeline, and has become the country’s third-biggest food retailer. If the merger is consummated, Massmart will continue to trade under its old brand names, such as Game, Makro, Builders’ Warehouse and CBW.

But beyond this, the Beast of Bentonville is cagey about its plans. Walmart says it aims not to change Massmart’s strategy, but simply “to put the foot on the accelerator”. It may be a heavy foot. Walmart did not become a $200 billion company without running down a few pedestrians. Few doubt that it will use all its skill and muscle to reduce prices and woo shoppers. It may stumble for cultural reasons, as it did in Germany. But if it succeeds, the effects may be profound.

South African retailers such as Shoprite, Pick ’n’ Pay, Spar and Woolworths are highly sophisticated and offer a fine array of fresh food, at least in the big cities. But they cannot match Walmart’s scale, global sourcing network or logistical brilliance. So there is a chance that Walmart will reduce prices so much that it affects the national inflation rate, as it has in America. At a time of painfully surging food prices, that would be a hefty boon for the needy. But it won’t please everyone.

Fast forward to 2011,Orlando Pirates under the guidance of the Dutch legend Rudi Krol won the League,SA Cup(Nedbank) and MTN top 8.They won trebble thier most succesfull season in their 80 years of their existences. Otorugu didn't play much, since the coach prefered small, nippy strikers. With all that success the club decided not to renew Krol's contract,it causes a lot of controversy in the football community but Pirates chairman sticked to his decision. And he swiftly appointed a Brasilian named Julio Cesar Leal.
With Pirates playing in Champions League next season,it will be Otorogu's time to shine.

No differences really, just like to highlight your countries problems from time to time as it seems other Africans like highlighting ours.
But it is an open secret that Nigeria just like its population have the biggest problems in Africa, there for it's not a suprise when 'other Africans like highlighting your problems',

Lesson: We can focus on the postive things we do or we can focus on the negative.
So you decided to focus on negatives things in South Africa,Ok I see.I would be a better man and focus on the positives things in Nigeria. How is that?

What a woman,Obama does not deserve this woman. cheesy
MICHELLE Obama touched down in Pretoria last night in what officials have billed as her first major solo overseas trip as US first lady, to South Africa and Botswana.

She arrived at Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria at 9.15 pm.

Obama is accompanied by her daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson - but not her husband, US president Barack Obama.

She is scheduled to meet Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, one of President Jacob Zuma's wives, in Pretoria this morning before heading for the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg, where she will get a tour from the former president's wife, Graca Machel.

Tomorrow afternoon, Obama will visit a daycare centre in Johannesburg and tour the Apartheid Museum.

The six-day trip will also take the first lady to Cape Town and the Botswana capital Gaborone.

Obama has a packed schedule that includes a safari in Botswana, a meeting with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Desmond Tutu in Cape Town as well as a trip to the Hector Pieterson memorial.

She will also give the keynote address at a conference of the Young African Women Leaders Forum, a two-day meeting of 75 women aged 16 to 30 who play leadership roles across the continent.
