Intelligence? which one Boko Haram? ![]() |
MrPrsdent:Although I disagree with with your stats, but for argument sake lets say it is true that 20% of our crime is commited by foreign national, that means for every five crime incident in South Africa one is committed by a foreign national. That is high, for people who applied/begged to come to our country. And we are not saying crime will dissapear when we have no foreigners in SA,but it will definelty decreases by big numbers, according to you atleast by 20%.we want decent people coming through our borders and ports and the goverment must document this people who arrive in the country,we should know where they stay, work and how they make their money. I don't know the percentage in Nigeria but I doubt that 20% of your crime problems are committed by foreigners. It is a problem in South Africa,I know it is not in your country.let us sort out our problems. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Crime-stats-show-drop-in-murders-20100909 http://www.saps.gov.za/statistics/reports/crimestats/2010/crime_stats.htm |

American singer Puff Johnson is expected to be deported to the US after being denied entry into South Africa. Home Affairs Director General Mkuseli Apleni on Friday said Johnson had boarded a flight to South Africa on Thursday night despite being identified as “undesirable” by the department’s Advanced Passenger Process (APP). The APP system, which is linked to Interpol, checks passengers against a list of prohibited passengers before they board the aircraft at their respective foreign countries. “This information was passed on to Delta Airlines with a specific request that she not be allowed to board the flight. However, Delta Airlines chose to ignore our request and allowed her to board the flight,” he said, adding that the airline has been fine R10 000. When the singer arrived at OR Tambo International Airport, Home Affairs’ Movement Control System, which has security features which allows it to spot prohibited passengers, once again identified Johnson as an undesirable visitor and she was denied entry into South Africa. Apleni explained that Johnson was declared undesirable because she had spent a year in South Africa illegally without the necessary documentation and was deported to the US earlier in the year. She will be deported for a second time on Friday night and will remain an undesirable until the matter of her having the required documents to be in South Africa is resolved, Apleni added. We think it is ludicrous in the extreme," he said in response to a petition by an unnamed farmer to the United Nations. "There is no wholesale attempt or process to commit genocide against Afrikaner farmers. Although we acknowledge that there is crime affecting farmers, government is dealing with all incidents of crime, not just attacks against farmers. "It is ridiculous, totally ridiculous." In a petition submitted to the UN, a farmer, who wants to remain anonymous, has accused the ANC-led government of committing genocide against the "Afrikaner Boer". "The second act of genocide committed against the Afrikaner Boer nation is by the ruling ANC government in South Africa," read the preamble to the petition, which was posted on the website www.stopafrikanervolksmoord.co.za on Tuesday. "No doubt that the perpetrators of the crime against humanity of apartheid, has become the victims of those people whom they oppressed during the years of apartheid. This petition acknowledges the crime of apartheid," it read. It was submitted to the office of the UN special adviser on the prevention of genocide, assistant secretary-general Francis Deng on Wednesday, according to lawyer Fanie van der Walt. He said he was acting on behalf of the farmer, who had relocated for his own safety. The petition asked that the UN Security Council and General Assembly "allow the study of the possibility of the ANC government using criminal gangs (including foreigners and particularly Zimbabweans and Mozambique citizens) as well as through the clandestine use of the South African National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the utilisation of the [Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK)] veteran soldiers and the South African Police Services, to execute these farmer murders and attacks". The farmer also wants United States president Barack Obama to intervene. He claimed that the number of commercial farmers in South Africa dropped from 90,000 to 40,000 between 1994 and 2010 and that 36,500 Afrikaner farmers had been murdered. He said the first act of genocide against the Afrikaner was during the second Anglo Boer War, when British forces burnt down Afrikaners' farms and put their women and children into concentration camps. "This Afrikaner genocide, now in commission and committed against the Afrikaner nation is undoubtedly the result of the apartheid past and the result of the racial and ethnic hatred of whites by black South Africans." According to his analysis, "the ANC started their highly effective clandestine policy of genocide and crimes against humanity through the deliberate implementation and very effective utilisation of extremely high rates of extreme violent crime against white Afrikaner farmers during 1986 whilst still in exile". When the ANC took power in government in 1994, these attacks were "escalated through deliberate state inaction, state neglect and refusal to act against crime". Gun laws, which he said made it difficult to own a firearm, had "greatly contributed" to the rapid increase of crimes committed against the Afrikaner. It is all an extension of the ANC's armed struggle and its goal was to "remove the white minority from South Africa". Men were especially being targeted. The ANC's "very effective arsenal of genocidal weapons" included: -- incitement by high-ranking government officials through speeches; -- inaction against crime; -- underutilisation of security forces; -- draconian gun laws; -- removal of the rural commando; -- the threat of the nationalisation of land; -- a proposed media tribunal; -- using former MK soldiers to take the fight to the white community; -- the disuse of the police force; and -- affirmative action. The UN defines genocide as: "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: -- killing members of the group; -- causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; -- deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; -- imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] -- forcibly transferring children of the group to another group." Factors behind it could include conflicts over land, power, security and expressions of group identity such as language, religion and culture; patterns of discrimination, overt justification for discriminatory practices; a history of genocide or human rights violations against a particular group; denial by the perpetrators; references to past human rights violations committed against a possible perpetrator group as justification. The farmer wrote that a team led by President Jacob Zuma and ANC Youth League president Julius Malema, described as the "Jacob Zuma-Malema team", supported by the SA Communist Party, had the potential to destroy the economy within months if there was no international intervention. He asked, among other things, that Deng investigate his claims of rape and torture, raise international awareness of them, and commission a study of crime in South Africa. Comment was not immediately available from the UN's New York office, because of time zone differences. |
^^My point exactly,is not like he scored a hatrick on the open play,I don't think there is anything special about a goalkeepers kicking penalties,it happens all the times all over the world. Or maybe we want to go so cheap by saying he is the first African/Black goalkeeper to score in the whitemans land? as if it is some sort of the biggest achivement for all black race. I hate this first black man to do this first black woman to do that.Because it means whiteman did it before. Why do we celebrate our failure? I would have celebrated if Enyeama was the first goalkeeper to ever score a hatrick. That would have been a record, not this. |
South African Govt is looking into level of rand, says Zuma. President Jacob Zuma said on Thursday his government was discussing the rand's current level, which some analysts say is too strong and hampering export growth, but no decision has been made on whether to take any action. http://www.mg.co.za/article/2010-07-22-zuma-govt-looking-into-level-of-rand The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stirred up debate this week about the rand, which has rallied nearly 30% in the past year, by saying South Africa should consider weakening the currency to boost exports. |
james1:Although we know that the place is full of struggling old poor racists, but they're not declaring independence from the state, there fore not breaking any laws,.And also if you're black they have no constitutional right to refuse you entry into "their" teritory because if they do then the law will take its course. Yes they might make it difficult for a black person to buy property or land if it is privatly owned. And remember that this people even if they use their own currency just like casinos they still get all their resources from 'outside'.They're not independed at all in their tiny little land.I don't think any South African have any slpeepless nights about this idiotss. Black South Africans are gradually taking back their country in a way that it is ligitimate and does not affect the production or the growth and stability of the country. This process takes time because it is slow but it works.Currently the goverment invest in educating a black child and with all the resources that we have our children are in the best platform to be better equipt to take over. |
And yes we can.Well said Minister Pandour |
Beaf you've got your own issue bro that you must deal with. South African goverment sent its student all over the world including Africa so I don't think it's about who is better than the other one. The lessons won't be about the people and their culture alone, but it is exposing this kids to positive things in Africa. You take this kids to a country in Africa that have systems that works, where residents pay tax and make the goverment acountable for their money, where residents finance the development of their country.Where a President is asked to resign and he oblige without any hussle. And also this Kids will learn that as Africans they are as capable as any other western country in terms of developing their own technologies, infrustrutures, tourism industry, industrial sector, agricultural sector and other positives that South Africa have achived. I think this is a good initiative from the Lagos goverment and this 42 will definetily share their experience with hundreds of other kids back home.I think the main reason for this trip is to inspire this kids. |
^^Wrong section bro! this is foreign affairs section,I am sure that there is a dating section somewhere here on nairaland ![]() thando:I guess people don't really want to hear the truth, conversation that is based on truth does not last long. |

SA Lady:SA lady,Omo mean 'friend' in Nigerian(I know Nigerians here will start complaining that there is no languange called Nigerians but they know what I mean ).So after that quick lesson lets go staight to the real thing ![]() You've said it all,I thought that translation will dilute the meaning but you hit it where it can't cry .Thank you,ke a leboga. |
@Playmode and SA lady I am glad you guys are on the same page.I think the lesson here Playmode is don't believe everything you read, base your judgement on your experience.Just because newspapers report on the nationalities of criminals does not make them racist, xenophobic or anti Africans.I constantly visit most Southern and sometime Eastern African countries and their newspapers and television stations report it the same way. When Glo started in Nigeria it was about national pride,MTN was seen as foreigners who are there to rob Nigerians their hard earned money, they where the public enemies, same with HI TV,DSTV/Multichoice were the enemies, where was the brotherly love?Where was we are all Africans, and Africa belong to all of us.Is is not xenophobia?or term is only used when you're in South Africa? I say,let us not be quick to judge.Treat every incident, experience or encounter differently and give people a fair chance.Just like SA Lady I have lot of Nigerians friends, and I chosed to be their friends not because they are Nigerians but because they are good people who I can relate to easily.Yes there are other people(Naija,Southy included) I wont associate my self with based on their characters. |
morpheus24:I am feeling you bro! ![]() |
MyJoe:Omo fine now,it is difficult to translate poetry to another language, the poem is in Setswana and I used my languange skills to describe this beautiful amazing daughter of the land. Where are my SA peeps here, who went to the model c school that is paid monthly for school fees ![]() Now translate my poem to english, let me see if your parent didn't throw their money by sending you to this expensive schools ![]() I went to kasi school where english is taught in setswana and school fees are paid yearly,I think we use to pay 20 rand but our parents still sruggled to pay it. So english is my fourth language.I got H in woodwork ![]() |
