Breaking into a market where your boss already has a strong presence can be challenging, but it's not impossible. Here are some pros and cons to consider: Pros of staying in the same location: 1. Familiarity: You already know the area, its dynamics, and the customer base. 2. Network: You may have established connections and relationships that can help your business. 3. Convenience: Staying in the same location can save you time and resources that would be spent on relocating. Cons of staying in the same location: 1. Competition: Your boss's established business may make it harder for you to attract customers. 2. Conflict of interest: Your boss may view your business as a competitor, potentially creating tension or conflict. 3. Limited opportunities: The market may be saturated, leaving limited room for growth or innovation. Questions to ask yourself: 1. Can you differentiate your business from your boss's, offering unique products or services? 2. Do you have a solid business plan and strategy to compete in the market? 3. Are you prepared to handle potential conflicts or tensions with your boss? Alternatives to consider: 1. Explore adjacent markets* : Look for nearby areas or niches that may have less competition. 2. Online business: Consider starting an online business, which can reach a broader audience and reduce competition. 3. Partner with your boss: Depending on your relationship, you might discuss potential partnership or collaboration opportunities. Ultimately, the decision to stay or leave depends on your specific circumstances, business plan, and goals. Take your time to weigh the pros and cons, and consider seeking advice from mentors, peers, or business experts. Mom007: Yes you are insulting women! Refer to your original comment and stop trying to soft pedal because you have been caught out! She should bring money, she should go house hunting for the guy, yen yen yen... where do you clowns learn your own version of adulthood and manhood from? Go and ask your father if your mother paid part rent for the house he married her into or if she was the one that went house hunting for him then come back and reply yourself your daft comments. it's like the type of men on this forum are either immature or kids because I am always amazed at some of their response to certain questions asked here. |

Who was begging for the sex? Nnamdipapa: Never let anyone blackmail you into a marriage unprepared, belle or not. She has the option to terminate the pregnancy if she does not want the title of a baby mama. When she had her legs raised in the air screaming, HARDER! HARDER! GIVE IT TO ME!, What was she thinking about? The sex was consensual and that was the end of business.
I REPEAT, never let the lady , her family, your family or ANYONE blackmail you into a marriage you are not prepared for. Having sex and marrying are two different kettle of fish. You may not even like her enough for marriage.

Bekermann: So I had to put up with the place throughout my service year because for some reasons, I wanted to continue practice while serving. I continued for the experience I'll gather in my field. During this period I executed briefs ranging from Asset Valuation to Compensation Valuation.
Fast forward to the end of my service year, knowing I'm entitled to competitive pay, he was kind of hostile. At this point, I've started hunting for new placements. During this period, I was hearing rumors that a big compensation brief is coming. I wasn't even notified officially till about three days we were expected to travel.
Then I dropped the bombshell, I wouldn't be making the trip. It sent shockwaves to him when he called me on that fateful Saturday morning. He tried to convince me to make the trip, that when we're back, he'll give me a significant raise and if I'm not satisfied with the raise, he'll pay me off.
I stuck to my guns I wasn't making the trip. Such decision was painful to make, but passion wouldn't put food on my table.
PS. I'll post pics of my message to him in due time |

Career › Finding Remote Work In 2025 Will Involve Using The Right Platforms by Rubyjade(op): 4:00pm On Dec 30, 2024 |
Finding remote work in 2025 will involve using the right platforms, showcasing skills that appeal to remote employers, and staying updated with industry trends. As the remote work landscape evolves, job seekers must adapt to new technologies, embrace networking in virtual spaces, and craft standout applications highlighting their ability to thrive in a remote environment.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting, navigating this competitive space requires strategy, persistence, and a deep understanding of what makes you the ideal remote candidate.
In this article, you will learn how to find remote work without stress. This article will also cover the best remote jobs in 2024, the most searched remote work terms by job seekers, and the best remote work to look out for in 2025.
1. Your Skills is the Key Wondering what skills make you attractive to remote employers? It’s all about staying relevant. Employers are looking for people who excel in communication, time management, and tech-savviness. Want to go the extra mile? Invest in learning remote-friendly tools like project management software (e.g., Asana or Trello) and collaboration tools like Slack or Zoom.
This way, when the company’s requirements say you must have experience in these tools, that won’t be an issue for you.
2. Leverage the Right Job Platforms There are many job boards out there where you can find remote work. Platforms like LinkedIn, Upwork, and We Work Remotely are goldmines for remote job listings. But here’s the trick: tailor your profile to highlight your remote work experience or adaptability. Employers scanning these platforms want to know you’re ready to hit the ground running.
Also, beware of fake job boards out there asking for money to connect you to employers.
3. Optimize Your CV and Cover Letters Your resume is your ticket to landing that remote gig, so make it count. Highlight remote work experience or transferable skills that make you a good fit for a virtual role. Use phrases like “collaborated with remote teams” or “successfully managed remote projects.”
Don’t forget to personalize your cover letter for each application—it shows you’re serious.
4. Don’t Give Up Until You Win Don’t apply for jobs and give up because you have not been called for any interview or you have gone through many interviews but are yet to land your dream job. Looking for remote work is a race you keep running until you finish (which is landing the job).
To find remote work, you must send as many applications as you can. You can never tell which will be your last.

Romance › Re: Can True Love Survive Without Money? Share Your Thoughts And Experienc by Rubyjade: 1:47pm On Dec 30, 2024 |
Yes, true love can survive without money. While financial stability can provide comfort and security, it is not the foundation of true love.
True love is built on:
1. Emotional connection 2. Mutual respect 3. Trust 4. Communication
Couples can focus on:
1. Shared values and goals 2. Emotional intimacy 3. Mutual support 4. Shared experiences and activities
Financial stress can be challenging, but open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to the relationship can help couples navigate financial difficulties.
Ultimately, true love is about the connection and bond between two people, not about their financial situation. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Please Advise Me Before I Reject This Offer by Rubyjade(op): 1:38pm On Dec 30, 2024 |
So recently I got a job which office is situated on the island of Lagos but I live on the mainland. My current job is also on the island but it is hybrid which makes me convenient for me to do some little errands to earn money to survive.
The problem is that the pay in the offer letter which is between 100 to 110k is not what we discussed during the interview, it is half of the amount I told them. I am about to reject the offer as I can't keep up with it and I am planning to reject it politely.
If I remove daily transport and feeding from it, I will be less with less than 15k and this is not a 3 square meal routine. It is barely a 2 square meal on a 1k per day. Tfare will take me like 1700 per day and it means I can't save any dime on this money.
My current job expires this month and the pay is the same with this new one but just that it is hybrid, I don't have to go to work everyday as I can work from home and also go to office. It is favourable as I could save some money and also attend to the responsibilities on my neck like house rent, utility bills, and family things, mind you, I am not married and I do not have a girlfriend.
Also I am running an ICAN programme that will consume money and time but the issue is that the money offered by this new job can only cover up for my tfare and feeding...
I am about to reject the offer but I need nairalanders opinion, am I making the right decision?
I am still applying for more role... I work as a finance personnel and I have more than a year experience.
To be honest, my interest would have to secure a position in an auditing firm as a trainee. I have no experience in auditing but I want to build a career in this profession before I finish my ICAN programme but the problem is that I am yet to get the opportunity.
I am a fast learner as in very fast learner,Communicate excellently, pay attention to details and I enjoy multitasking.
Please advise me before I reject this offer

Most importantly don’t let anyone put you under pressure. You’re not a failure just because you can’t buy your broke girlfriend an iPhone for instance |
