Interesting. So where did this come from? Is it fake? Which response after a ruling?

Honestly I just hope Tinubu is clean and intentionally stalling for fun. If not, Nigeria is finished. You know why? Because I know the Nigerian court is corrupt and will keep him in power, and that will send a clear message to the international community that Nigeria is indeed a shithole country.

Why is it hard for us to have strong laws against terrorists and bandits, since they are threatening our corporate existence as a nation.

Are the lives of bandits and terrorists more important than lives of Nigerians?

When will we get angry and fight back?

This is a shame.

Nigeria government should ignore UN, ignore Amnesty international, ignore the compromised human rights organization, follow sensible nations like China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, America, and use death penalty for terrorists, and bandits, without this, Nigeria is on a downward fall...terrorism will destroy Nigeria, unless we destroy them, stop jailing terrorists and bandits, sentence them to death, and the death sentence must be carried out. This is what our governors and house of representatives should be doing now... terrorists will destroy Nigeria if we don't kill them, but jail them.

You think your govt actually listens to any of those organisations you mentioned? Were you not told your current VP is a boko haram sponsor? Are you not seeing that your govt and some state govts in the north are paying tax to terrorists legit? Look, your govt knows what to do but they are using these terrorists to achieve political goals, put you in fear so you will be easy to control. Quote me, the govt knows how to eliminate them, but they are afraid they may lose certain advantages if they fo.

Honestly, this is the starting. I had told someone that if Tinubu took over power, Nigeria will plunge into total disrepair. The poverty will keep increasing, people will keep losing their jobs, people will keep 'japa'ing (it actually get more difficult everyday now because of the worsening rate). People who work in such places as FCMB, and perhaps some other banks, will turn to beggars soon, unless this trend is reversed.

Same would have happened if Atiku had taken power, but the pace would be slower that this man. NOBODY WANTS TO BRING HIS MONEY TO INVEST IN NIGERIA.

What is the way forward ?

the Government should focus on production, make the youth productive by creating an enabling environment for all to thrive. People who left the country just feel they are not appreciated. The youths now feel it is only crime that you can successfully make money from. The president needs to run an open-book policy and convince all Nigerians that he is tackling corruption. Then Nigeria can earn USD, and the rate will drop on it's own.

Let me tell you honestly, if every drop of crude produced in this country is sold and remitted to the coffers of the government, just in one month exchange rate will start take a good shape. In Saudi, the government watches on a screen every drop of oil extracted in the country. WE MUST LEARN A LESSON. I will never send money to Nigeria through CBN, unless the difference is not worth the stress. NEVER!

Crime / Re: Police Arrest Metal Drainage Cover Thieves In Lagos (Photos) by ruffhandu: 5:34am On Sep 27, 2023
saphiere:
In a swift early morning operation today, the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) successfully apprehended two individuals who were caught red-handed stealing fabricated metal drainage covers in the affluent area of Ikate, Lekki.

At approximately 5:00 a.m., RRS patrol units, while conducting routine surveillance along Freedom Way, noticed suspicious activity involving a mini-bus, commonly referred to as "korope," bearing the registration number KTU 45 YD. The occupants of the vehicle, later identified as Jubreel Haruna (29) and Adewale Rabiu (27), were seen loading the metal drainage covers into their vehicle.

The quick-thinking RRS operatives wasted no time in accosting the suspects, preventing them from making away with the valuable materials. The suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Following their arrest, both Jubreel Haruna and Adewale Rabiu were promptly charged and are now facing prosecution in accordance with the directives of Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi. The charges filed against the suspects underline the seriousness with which the authorities are treating this case of attempted theft.

Metal drainage covers, often targeted by thieves due to their scrap value, pose a significant safety risk when removed from their designated locations. Such thefts can lead to accidents and damage to public infrastructure, underscoring the importance of the RRS's proactive efforts to curb this illegal activity.

Local residents and authorities have praised the Rapid Response Squad for their swift response and commitment to maintaining the security and integrity of the community. This incident serves as a reminder that law enforcement agencies remain vigilant in safeguarding public property and deterring criminal activity in the area.

How on earth does CBN thing a Nigerian outside Nigeria will send money to Nigeria and use official rate when the difference is about N300? Who thinks like CBN? Which Nigerian will do such? They can only do that to foreigners. And, they are trying to force the useless e-naira on Nigerians.

Simple solution, when official rate is lower than black market by only N1. For now, no man in his right senses will, after hussling, send $1000 to Nigeria and willingly accept N783,000 instead of N980,000. I am looking for that man. If such a person can't be found, then CBN, if a person, is simply mad.

I suspect this wall was built to keep out the Arab jihadists invading West Africa many centuries ago.

It clearly worked. For centuries. In fact it could be reasonably argued that had this wall not been built, we would be bearing names like Abdullahi and Muhammed today instead of Ayodele, Chukwuma, and so on, since Benin was the biggest and most powerful kingdom of the south, and had they captured Benin, the rest of the region would have been a breeze for them.

So, a very good and laudable project.

Travel / Re: UK: 10 Things You Will Miss About Nigeria When You JAPA by ruffhandu: 7:16pm On Sep 20, 2023
uche87:
There is no gain without pain in life. We must sacrifice something for whatever gain we make. Remember the concerted efforts made by the late pop legend, Michael Jackson, just to be able to shop in a mall in disguise. Inasmuch as relocating to the UK is a life-defining move and experience, it entails leaving behind some vital aspects of your life for better economic opportunities and a higher standard of living. These aspects will always be missed. Let's recount the interesting aspects of the Nigerian life below:

(1) Food:

You can easily get Nigerian delicacies in some cities in the UK, but that local flavour is always missing. I feel it needs the hands of the rugged women within the crude environment to get it right. For example, which Amala in the world can replace the famous Amala Skye in Ibadan?

(2) Social life:

The social life in the UK is either poor or strange to Africans. People in London are stepping it up with events but other cities are still lagging behind. Even when you organise social gatherings and send out invites, most people ignore them and pick shifts instead. This is unlike Lagos where people easily 'turn up'. Remember what singer Banky W said about social life in Lagos, "Ain't no party like the Lagos party"

(3) Women:
Nigerian women are easily accessible as long as you have the money. You can easily see what Lagos socialite and other celebrities are doing with the dream women of people. Even when you are broke and you are organised as a man, you might still have your way. In contrast, the relationship market is different in the UK. It is a very conservative setting that abhors strangers. Ephemeral factors like skin colour, accent, ethnic background and visa status play key roles in who dates you.

(4) Work-life balance:

If you believe the hustle in Lagos is real, then you haven't seen the one in the UK. With the cost of living rising, I have seen people working 24 hours to make extra bucks. I once met a 48-year-old man who confided in me that he had been working 24 hours for 3 straight days. Most immigrants who set unrealistic targets for themselves end up living to work.

(5) Friendliness:

Nigerians are culturally friendly, especially if you are someone of high repute. Even when you are a nobody and you dress well, people easily get attracted to you. These people try to socialise with you. The UK will unconsciously teach you the differences of the terms; colleagues, friends and acquaintances. Most people only relate with themselves either on a professional or strictly needs basis.

(6) Church:
Sunday mornings are lovely in Nigeria. People wear elegant dresses and head to church. The praise and worship session lightens your mood. It is always a moment of expression of joy. But in the UK, the roads are mostly deserted on Sunday mornings. This is because most people are nursing hangovers from the escapades on Saturday. In fact, you will doubt if the Britons actually introduced Christianity to Nigeria via Henry Townsend in 1842.

(7) Friends/Naija vibes:
It is easier to get people together in Nigeria than in the UK. In Nigeria, most people do 9-5 jobs and the weekends are sacred. Over here in the UK, every day seems the same. When you are free, your friend or neighbour is fully engaged. When you are on a day shift, he might be on a night shift. With Nigerians back home 'billing' the ones in the diaspora more than Ikeja Electric, people work throughout the week to send something home.

(cool Weather:
Nigeria has one of the best atmospheric conditions in the world. The weather is moderate and with technological devices, you can create your own comfort. In the UK, the weather is so cold and unpredictable. Most times, your sense of fashion goes out of the window. You just want to avoid being sickened by the cold, by wearing big jackets. These jackets make you look like Ninja Turtles. The weather remains more unstable than the mood of a woman seeing her period.

(9) Family Support:
When you start having kids in the UK, you will value family support. It is mostly unavailable. Even when your family is here, most of them will be engaged because time is too valuable. In Nigeria, your parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and other family members will always be available to support you. All you have to do is to grease their palms, no matter how faint the oil is. At all at all na imm bad pass.

(10) Christmas and other festivities:
The Christmas Day vibe in Nigeria is second to none. People cook the best meals and share them in the neighbourhood. Visitors show up at your place for memorable times. In the UK, it is a bank holiday and some workplaces that can't afford to close, lure people to work with double pay. A greedy Nigerian will take the money and postpone the celebration for the following year. At the end of the year, all your memories might hover around depressing moments at work if care isn't taken.

Actually the man's will stands

It's just that everyone was shocked

He really dealt with the first e

But he caused it
Looking down on a Man that was a big odogwu in his hey days

This is a very big lesson
People should be careful how they relate with there parents when they feel they have arrived

Because these old people know how to deal with stubborn children even from the grave
If only people would understand that money has it's lane, which is different from human relationships, they will also know that money is fleeting. And then it will never enter their head no matter what.

You guys should advise him that if he does anything to harm his younger bro, or tamper with yhe will in any way, he has then invited a generational curse upon his lineage. Even God said something about moving the ancient land boundary. His should should learn from his stupidity. He should learn not to take certain advice from women- his mother, they are not experts in the area, unless they have the spirit of God

If you guys are Igbo
Then your father has a big wahala ahead of him

Because in Igbo culture
The first son inherits the Obi and main property the father Left

Other sons are given other properties or lands but the main property where the Father lived belongs to the first son

It's non debatable in Igbo culture

I don't know about other cultures

But if your grandfather left a will
The will will decide the sharing of the properties

Sometimes the father may not will anything to to the first son
And that stands

There is a case we are treating presently in the East

A big man died last year.
He was past eighty and willed his major assets to his second son
He denied the first son anything except his Obi in the village which belongs to the first son by culture

We found out the first son made small money from oil servicing deal and was looking down on his father

The father now punished him in his will
People were shocked
The Man also punished his wife because he felt the wife was the one influencing the first son

The wahala now is that the mother and first son are up in arms with the second son

Heard the second son want to sell of some of the choice Properties and relocate to the US because he is scared of his life.

The umunna and some big men are trying to resolve the whole issue

But walahi fear some fathers
They can deal with anyone with there will

But the obj or fathers Properly in the village belong to the first son

What are they resolving? They want to thwart the late man's will? What the second son is about to do is exactly what I would do. She the first son get oil.money, let him go and buy properties na. Please, you guys should let the second son breath.

Peter532:
Hello all,
My dad immediate elder brother who went to south africa in the 90s is back to drag their parents property claiming to be the first son.

This is someone who after he travelled only came back once and never bothered about the affair's of the family.

Their father my grandfather died 2005 he was no where to be found. my grand mother died 2018 still nothing from him.

No contributions whatever even while their parents was still alive.

He cut all sort of communications with them and now he's back to lay claim on the properties.

The family is angry but some of the elders in the extended family are getting on is side claiming he's still the senior he was never disowned but they can't say it out though.

It's obvious he came back with almost nothing and felt laying claims on their parent property is the back up plan

No will was written and some of the old buildings has been reconstructed from the scratch by my father and yet someone is laying claim on it.

I will like to know how this will go because my father is ready to fight this with his last strength and we the children are firmly behind him

As Igbos, weather he is responsible or not, first son is first son. While in SA, if your father was somehow in touch, he should be taking permission from him to do anything on their father's property. The first son has the right to share their father's property amongst the children as he will, though he is guided to be fair, but even if he is not, others can only talk.
In fact, in my village, if he has his first son while his father is alive, his first son becomes their father's last son, meaning his household will be entitled to double portion after he has shared the properties, or shared by their father.

What your father should have done while their father was alive was to make him alott his desired properties to him in the presence of the elders, the first son cannot thwart that because it is a traditional will.

I advise: let your father follow land matter with caution, e dey chop head(s). Those elders hashing their support for your uncle are right, they just don't have the boldness yet to tell your father, maybe dem dey fear am because him get money.

Let your father present his cases before him and the elders and he may be considerate. Now that he came back with nothing, let him have something, and what rightfully belongs to him. Do not intimidate him out of his right, he can fight dirty with the spirits as him no get money. Let the poor returnee breath

I vowed never to drag any of my father's property with anyone right from childhood, Na purchased land I dey hold unto, NOBIDY CAN DRAG THAT WITH ME.

BE WISE BRO. Aldo talk to your father's family to pipe low.
