Isreal defence force are much prepared even before the war started. The bring war to the doorstep of their enemies. Iran will be worst than Gaza in matter of days and weeks. I pity the innocent iranians that will suffer the consequences

I am wondering the corridor Israel will pass to take the war to Iran, they are surrounded by hostile mutual neighbours. They either stay put and defend, or have an excuse to start invading direct neighbours that give Iran an assault platform. Well, Israel no be small pickin for dis matter, they know what to do.

Nigerians keep acting dumb. Your government has segregated between the poor and the rich and the poor find it ok. It means that if you are not rich, then you are not entitled to electricity.

Is that fat lady too beautiful for that man? We don't exactly the reason the fool killed them. Both of them are likely birds of the same feather because there is no way they had not seen the signs in both. They could have simply walked away. I don't support divorce, but separation is far better than letting another cut your life short.

Sadly I agree with you and when I wrote what I wrote, I wrote it selfishing considering my own situation. I am totally against the hike and for the reasons you highlighted.

People claim Nigerians don't pay tax but every Nigerian at least pays VAT, does the vat they collect in addition to the vast natural resources we have correlates with development in the land? Sadly no.

I waiting to see if Nigeria will ever have good leaders, I used to be a believer of "Nigeria will be great someday", but sadly, I am beginning to fear if this will happen in our lifetime.

I have supported most moves by this government but on this I do not agree. I personally don't mind paying as much as 200k per month for electricity ( I currently pay about 13k monthly and about 450k on generator ) however, you can't ask people to pay 225 when they don't get even up to 8 hours of electricity per day. It is madness and absolutely unacceptable.

Nigerians should not be made to suffer for the problem the corruption of the middle class brought upon us.

I hope people stand up against this nonsense.
So you also think others think so? Paying 200k a month on how much salary? Besides, I hope you all know that electricity is not more essential than food and education, so a man has to feed, clothe and educate his family before giving thought to some of these other bills. It simply means that these people do not wish a good life for the citizenry. They are not even thinking of 24hrs electricity. I would have wished they provide the electricity first, then start negotiating the fee.

If I may ask. What does the government now subsidize? They have removed subsidy on petroleum, education, and now electricity. These people are wicked. Shouldn't they have increased wages first? Now they will feast on the money they removed from subsidy, just like they are already doing through budget padding. Nigerians I pity.

Advice is actually one of the cheapest things to offer, even when the advisor cannot dare practice what he is advising others.
Everything you said there is correct, 100%. But the fact that people initially, especially in Nigeria, are grateful for even seeing where to go to every morning and return in the night so they can have 30k into their bank account at the end of the month is a think to ponder over. Many know what they want, but they also know that what they want may never become reality because of the environment they find themselves.

@bolded Nope.
I live in an x-bedroom flat with 2 toilets. Most of you guys live in studio cheesy
My living standard is quite high and above the regular average here. So you can't use me to judge.
This debate is becoming useless to me because the point has been missed. I only debate to learn. You have already. Acknowledge you earn more than 200k a month.
I am wondering the location where a rent of 250k per Anuum comes with 5 bedroom flat with 2 toilets and the standard of living is compared to a living in UK.
Please be informed that in most places abroad, the size of your apartment is determined by the size of your family. 700-1000 pounds gives you a decent place.

Any, I do not live in the UK. Please learn to have a health and smart debate.

I have a washing machine but I choose to hire someone to do the washing for me.
How is that your headache?

I enjoy near 24 hours light so much so that I don't even have a generator.
Sometimes, I have to switch off my freezer to get stuffs out.

God secures us here. I have never had to visit the police station or call the cops for any security issue.

My human rights are intact. I am free to practice my faith and NOBODY dictates to me how to treat my wife and children unlike you niggerrrs abroad.

My house rent is 250k per year and it's been so since 2020.

You said the person in UK saves 500k monthly. Why do you guys like converting your chicken change pounds to Naira just to feel good?

Did you not purchase a visa and flight ticket to enter the UK? What the huge school fees you paid to attend a mushroom university over there?

Can you stay in UK and enjoy your Naira here in Nigeria?

If you are to visit Nigeria, don't you know how much it will cost you in air fares and the rest?

So you see, you are just managing over there. Nothing spectacular.
Hahahaha. You know where you Belong bro. 200k monthly and 250k per annum for a face me i face you abi. I am perplexed you have not even seen the issue here. It means you earn well over 200k monthly, so the comparison by onyema is useless.

Under-reported corruption news. Why?

Oyegbile Adeniran received £80 million from the ministry in six transactions,

£1 was at least N800
£80 would have been around N64B. Why report N1.4B?

I always say it, once you get a politician who is not a thief, and who is not occultic and sold to the devil, forget it. The money they receive from FG monthly is huge enough to make a state like abroad, trust me. Just that few individual sit down to share the money. Once the governor disapproves of the stealing, then he must not be a thief to be able to survive. But if he is stealing and wants to stop his leutenants, na there him go get problem. Abia state is a role model now.

Admit you goofed with that early comment.
I don't think he goofed, unless he had mentioned the consumption of the vehicles locally. Every manufacturing development first needs electricity.

Come to think of it, they should support local manufacturers first. Nigerian politicians just keep going round circles and have zero interest of the people at heart. Even if the president means well, these thieves will only venture into what will swell their pockets

Be deceiving yourself.

Total is 200k(could be a little more)

Sure @bolded

Thank God

You are the one deceiving yourself, deceiving ignorant people, and being deceived by the people who made the lame comment that 200k salary in Nigeria is better than 2k in uk.

Now you have listed what 200k gets you, using your hand to wash your clothes, with low quality life (no power supply, human right abuses, no security, etc), you did not even include your house rent. It means if you were to pay house rent, then the 200k won't be enough. I didn't see you brag that you also pay driver salary as he had claimed.

I know of a friend who lives in UK, with 3 kids, and yet he saves 500k every month. A lot of people just stay in Nigeria and console themselves and find point to argue that their leaders are treating them welll, instead of holding them accountable.

Please travel to UK, live their for 6 months, then come back let's have this debate.

How can people who dare not leave their lights on be happy to use the washing machine

Using machine here can be stressful especially if the cloths are much like ours.

@bolded
Around 25k(could be more) including PMS and gas smiley

Lol, the story they tell you at home. Nobody uses hand to wash any clothe in a civilized society bro.

If you spend 25k weekly, that makes it 100k monthly. Does that mean all your expenses for the month is adequately taken care of?

The level of shopping I did yesterday is monthly and I spent a little over 100k. There is the weekly one.

People don't wash with hand abroad Can you afford the power bill

Power bill where? You will also ask me if I can afford internet bill. Washing with hand is a sign of developing or underdevelopment.

So after spending 100k a month how much do you spend shopping weekly?

The lady does not use it either.

@Bolded
Sure. That's the calculation.
You missed the point. People don't wash with hand abroad. My question was, after your 100k shopping, when next will you shop again, or do you spend like that every week shopping?
Business / Re: Earning ₦200K Monthly In Nigeria Is Better Than £2000 In UK - Allen Onyema by ruffhandu: 12:06pm On Mar 30

One day per week is not equivalent to 4 hours here.
It definitely is more:
1. Clothes are washed.
2. The toilets are washed.
3. The floor is swept and mopped.
This will cost you your salary in UK if you hire someone.

Back to the shopping, I didn't do any conversion.
If I list what I bought here, if you were to buy similar in the UK, you will smell pepper.
Yet I spent just around 100k, maybe a little more, I am yet to ascertain the actual figure.
And the stuff is for the whole month including the Easter celebrations.

Imagine how much this will cost you in the UK cheesy

It is a lie bro, can even be done in less than 4 hours. Only number 2 and 3 will take the cleaner's effort. There are washing machines everywhere bro.

You spent 100k shopping? For how long will that last you till the next shopping sir? I like healthy debates.

If you see nothing wrong in Peter Obi attempting to bribe Northerners with borehole and food, why are you crying over Federal Government’s decision to subsidize hajj payment for Muslims? What’s wrong with two can play the game?

See your reasoning, comparing religion and development. Why didn't the president spend that money on thousands of boreholes in the North? Come on, we should have passed this stage. Religion is supposed to be a private affair, not the governments. The government only need to keep the people safe to practice whatever religion they wish to. Kai, nigerians are still miles behind.

There is NO misery here mehn
I just returned from shopping. What I bought will cost you a fortune in UK cheesy

What is that that you bought that will cost a fortune in the UK? Are you converting to Naira to compare? If yes, did you also convert the salary to compare?

I don't see how the person cannot afford to hire someone to work 4 hrs a week to do house chores. The person will earn exactly what he himself earns per hour. If you have an 8-shift, and hire someone to work for you for 4 hrs, I no see anything difficult there.
