This gas is what they flare for free. I wonder why it has to be this expensive. Yes I know machinery to capture, condense, store and distribute LNG costs quite a lot but most of these costs are one off. Gas should be a lot cheaper than what it currently sells for.

If the police commission is sincere, it would have first of all investigated whether the officer actually took illicit drugs, instead of claiming that the youths flogged the officer because the president of the youths is interested in the officer's girlfriend. Even if the president of the youths is interested in the officer's girlfriend, didn't/doesn't the officer take drugs? Have there not been other cases where the same youths apprehended and punished consumers of illicit to drugs? What exactly does the police commission want to achieve by bringing up the allegation that the youths president is interested in the officer's girlfriend?

You might condemn the youth action, calling it jungle justice. But what had the government or the police done before the youths decided to protect themselves and their community? Again, flogging is not that severe. Flogging is nothing compared to what police officers do to people everyday at checkpoints.

This is like the case of IPOB and headsmen. Herdsmen have been killing and destroying. No herdsman has been brought to book. But the moment IPOB rose up in self defense, python dance and so many other things started coming from the federal government against IPOB.

I was once very close to someone at the National Assembly, working closely with them. Without exaggerating, they received over 200 calls daily, with about 190 of them being financial requests from constituents. The remaining 10 were about political matters. Interestingly, I noticed that fulfilling these financial requests was more likely to secure a second, third, fourth, or fifth term than undertaking projects that would benefit the entire constituency.

I think the issue here was that the judge too was a young man once and probably made mistakes as well. In the UK, getting drunk every weekend is considered a rite of passage, for both young males and females. Aside drinking, you know what youths are bound to do.

Some 6 years or so later. My guy arrived Nigeria. Some weeks later someone called me to tell me. I was so disappointed. He has made efforts later to salvage the relationship but I just felt it was not worth it.
There is an expiry to some relationships, and when the time comes, don't bat an eyelid, just let it go.

The worst thing that would happen to any country is to have people who have zero knowledge of how to run a successful business heading sensitive agencies that regulate a critical industry.

If the Enugu regulator thinks that the Discos are overbilling the consumers, why not launch your own company and start giving it for free? After all, there was a time in this country when the government had MTel and we knew what later happened to the state-run telco.

Fews weeks ago, I engaged a Marina bank staff about their car loan facility and here is the highlight of the terms

1. Interest rate is 41% p.a
2. Duration of 48months ie 4yrs
3. Additional 2% management fee etc
4. Loan amount is N15million
5. They would provide the dealer I must buy from

By implication, at the end of 4yrs, borrower would have paid 164% in interest aside other charges equivalent to N39.6million principal & interest

It becomes very disheartening when we compare with other clime where one could get 13% interest rate while income could afford comfortable repayment plan.


At this rate, a N500k monthly earner cannot afford a car. Now imagine entrepreneur who genuinely require capital to fund a viable business plan

I am of the opinion that is beyond just the banking system but a widespread failure in the Nigeria system as a whole.
