Sorry sir,
Your cooked data won't fly. From most of the duties paid at your ports , the taxes and rates that you collect on businesses across nigeria, the billions on VAT that you deduct from active business bank accounts and on endless business transactions, the billions that pour in through dollar remittance from millions of hardworking igbos abroad, THE BILLIONS FROM OIL AND GAS, (you can brandish your cooked data as usual),... the Igbo citizens and communities across nigeria pour in millions to help your miserable life on daily basis more than anyone else.. Hardworking people that need to be respected by people like you. Not a society that floods the street with scraggy looking Awawa boys and one million boys at every turn to ruin and plunder..

Debunk any claim that hausa fulani are the one enjoying one Nigeria.. The north is ravaged with poverty, banditry, terrorism and underdevelopment.. tell me how are they benefiting from one Nigeria? But here in the south the igbos are everywhere especially in the west putting pressure on our resources.allocations that are meant to improve the welfare of the citizens are used to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure and also causing overpopulation in the west leaving their leaders and their region and blaming their host concerning issues that might affect them yet this same Igbo people are the only clamouring for the division of the country.. if Nigeria divides we all know who will suffer most and just to let you people know the oil in the Niger Delta region does not belong to the east.niger Delta and east are completely different region get that clear.. peace
You should not be getting any allocations to start with. You can't be sharing other people's resources while crying of pressure on your resources. It will be great to see you build lagos from your bountiful cocoa receipts...

Redcrafton:
You are correct.

But we are talking of decades of investment.

The areas have to be mapped out first and you will see investors coming.

Lagos has high rise...where did they get the power from?

See Dubai in the 50s.
I seriously believe in urbanization! Seriously, it's the fastest way that a country can move her people from one lower stage of existence to a higher level of living. If you move somebody from the village into an urban high rise with 24 hour power supply, internet connection, internal plumbing ofcourse, telephone lines and TV access with good surrounding neighbourhood, you just brought him to the new century! Urbanization is what the Chinese are using to modernise their cities, their environment and ofcourse their lifestyles. But it works faster and better when you take time to put down the basic infastructure and laws. In Onitsha, inspite of the draw backs, folks are still building 5 storey houses all over the place. I even heard that Obiano has to reduce it to 4 storey buildings because a house collapsed last time! Essentially, the government there is even working against erecting high rises! I'm not saying it's impossible. Just that it won't be easy at all like the Dubai example you gave for several reasons..

Firstly, you have to change the land laws to empower the government to appropriate lands for redevelopment. That won't be easy because of the corrupt political system here where politicians might use the law to take over lands and hand them over to cronnies for development and sell. Folks will be up in arms. If you try such in Onitsha, you will have a thousand law cases the next day against the government.
Secondly, we import a great deal of the building materials we use in this country. For example, the electrical and plumbing and tiles and keys and superior doors , roofing sheets etc. That is not sustainable. If you import that much, it means that every time you're building a skyscraper, you are sending billions to China. But if most of these are produced here,(and the technology is not that complex), the money spent to buy them will only move from one account to another in a Nigerian bank. Making the money still available within the economy so that other builders can access that for new projects.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Governors Lazy? Onitsha Waterfront. by Rugaria: 12:23pm On Dec 09, 2020
Try to be realistic, man. Do you know how much it costs to erect a single skyscraper? Especially nowadays that dangote sells cement at almost 5k a bag? How much is Anambras total budget for the year? To put up such iconic stuffs, the federal government has to be seriously involved, not mainly in providing the funds but in creating an incetified environment that will encourage developers to do so. Building a high rise is a business for real estate operators. There are many foreign operators in this area who may even get involved if it's profitable. If a business used say 10 billion to build a skyscraper and gets say12 billion after selling off the apartments in a very short period, then the market will boom. You will even see folks experienced in the field from far away countries like Hong Kong or China struggling to participate. But then high-rises will need constant power supply to function, good maintenance staffs, good quality checks, etc . Few state can provide such resources, unless the governor intentionally focuses most of his budgeted expenses on those..

stop dragging the whole south into the problem you are having with the north.

Stop trying to drag the Yorubas into the gruesome murder of our people in the East.

We have no issue with the south south and the west.

The only people we see as potential enemies are the Easterners.

We know the people who hate and always celebrate our pains and downfall.

We know the people who use every little opportunity to stereotyply insult and blackmail the north.

We know the people who are instigating hatred against the north.

Stop dragging the whole south into that!!

The only place mosques where burnt during the end sars protest is in the East.

The only place where trailers were attacked and the custodians killed was in the east.

The only place where the end sars protest turn to a tribal war was in the east.

So stop making it South vs the north...

The East should take full responsible for their actions and stop dragging the whole southern tribe along.

to your last paragraph, obviously it wasn't a coincidence. Neither is their warming up to the East recently. It's just unfortunate that are our governor's don't look to the bigger picture but just their selfish interest. Obj begun the industrial revolution in ogun today with a gas pipeline. Buhari is trying to do the same in the North( even though it won't give them the economic dominance they seek -for some other reasons I won't mention).

yes it's good they are all building Airports now, but I hope and pray they come alive to this robbery waiting to happen. Most of the East's productive oil wells is tied down in boundary disputes between Imo vs rivers on one side and Abia vs Rivers. This same thing is tying down oil exploration and exploitation in Anambra.

Why has the federal government who created the states failed to resolve the issue's ? I just don't know.
I mentioned the guy building the pipeline because he floated and got the license to build a power plant in Anambra (I hope that is still the plan). The Anoh gas project in Imo is private sector driven and has many Igbo men in pole position. It would take little cajoling to extend a gas pipeline to industries- but then again, no imo governor has made emphatic plans to industrialize the state .
I can't put it better.
The whole situation is beginning to irritate.

See, as a proud black man, I totally stand against racism.

But to be honest, most blacks are beginning to take it WAY TOO FAR.

Racism is when a person is abused, maltreated or insulted, due to the colour of their skin. Like the monkey chants, a banana being thrown at Alves, kneeling on the neck of Floyd by a white police e.t.c These are examples of Racism.

But the fourth official did none of those. And the players had to walk off, cos someone was called a black guy? SMH.

Isn't it normal for a black guy to refer to a group of white friends as 'my White folks'?So what's wrong in calling a black guy, a black guy.

We should be proud of our skin colour.

We should proud to be called blacks.

But we stand against any form of maltreatment, abuse or injustice against us because we are black.

#NOT ASHAMED TO BE A BLACK
You know nothing about racism and how it functions so keep your ignorant opinion to yourself. It's only in Nigeria blogs that you read this kind of ignorant comments. The isrealie got to where they are today in terms of racial equality on the global stage by making sure that anybody with anti semetic views is ostracized and dealt with. Those black players that insisted that the referee be sanctioned know exactly why they took it serious. Most subliminal racist remarks and behavior showcase a deeper behavioral problem on the part of the perpetrators. Living in different parts of the world, you will come to understand this. There are many cultures that have very established racial classification standards that relegate black people to the lower levels of the society. Folks from these areas are always the ones caught in this kind of situation! And since their countries or societies would have found ways to excuse them, when situations like this crop up, they should be hung to dry, as an example, so that other people like them will learn to treat people from other cultures with respect and decency.

just two corrections ,
1) their is no Federal government gas pipeline in Aba.The gas pipeline in Aba (shell's) is among the first in the country and came about as a result of a partnership between shell and the Abia state government, in other to supply gas to the state owned International glass factory Aba (which was the biggest glass product factory then in Nigeria -either mbakwe or Michael okpara built it).

2) That facility is on the level with what you get in ogun and covers presently 4 lgas in the state (it's by no means mediocre).

Our leaders have to step up seriously. Wasnt it one of them ( Rochas ) that fought Gej till what would have been the second power plant in the East (egbema power plant) was abadoned ? Today he can hardly speak in public again.

The SE is the region which has the smallest number of power plants in the country (3 all in Abia state and one isn't even functional). Just like what happened with the coming of gas to Abia, nothing stops our present governors from doing such again. Its good that we are now building Airports ,flyovers and even Federal roads, but we have to do much in terms of power- after all,our elders would say that a man rejected by the public would not reject himself.

An Igbo man is building the gas pipelines to the north ,I hope he leverages on that to supply gas to his state Anambra.I also hope that uzodinma would put modalities in place to establish an industrial park around the gigantic gas project springing up in egbema
Good points,
But the guy building the pipeline to Niger is just executing a contract. Just a contractor. The federal government awards and finances such contracts. So there's not much he can do. The fact that this administration is really determined to lift gas from the east to power stations in the north while the same east can not boast of any serious power plants tells you all you need to know about the mindset of the monsters in Aso rock..

Again, when we talk about eastern leaders, we need to put a caveat somewhere. Who are the so-called eastern leaders? Hope Uzodinmma? Rochas Okorocha? Ararume? Arthur Eze? Emeka Offor? Orji? Who really? Who are behind these characters? If we continue to underrate the devastating effects of fake leaders spuriously foisted on the south east by federal forces while demanding utmost productivity from the same clan of hired 'leaders', we are just putting the cart before the horse.. Personally, I don't think that it was a coincidence that the gas project to the North started after the supreme Court magic that brought Uzodinmma. But that's my personal opinion..

https://www.nairaland.com/6302271/south-east-crucial-nigerias-gas-industry#96844450

The Article says: “Five south-eastern states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo will be key actors in its push to enthrone gas as a preferred fuel source for Nigeria’s industrialisation….”

THIS IS WEALTH TRANSFER!
IT IS TRANSFER OF SOUTH EAST WEALTH!

The imposed fraudulent 1999 Constitution is what is being used to SEIZE South East wealth, plus also Niger Delta wealth, and Yoruba wealth eg ports, Bitumen, and MB wealth – why should MB limestone belong to Dangote for his cement?
Our people NEVER agreed to have Fed government seize our wealth. This is robbery by the State!

Igbos and Niger Deltans (plus Yoruba and Middle Belters), we CAN STOP THIS WEALTH TRANSFER by rallying round the MNN Alliance that have Strategy of Taking Down the 1999 Constitution by Constitutional Force Majeure to set all the ethnic nationalities within us FREE! We will have the Self-Determination we seek if we key into this MNN Alliance. Otherwise our children will be impoverished and have to be wandering the earth like vagabonds seeking who will give them job, whether China, Malaysia, India, Canada, USA, UK or Australia. Why? When we already have the MNN Alliance Strategy to Take Down the 1999 Constitution!

In case you did not know -

The problem is that you don't seem to know your real enemies. You are going to form an alliance with Yorubas to stop the north from looting south eastern gas reserves!? Yorubas that are in bed with the north already? Obasanjo expanded the gas supply to Otta and co through Yoruba companies. Gas from the same area being looted by Buhari today! That's how that area became a strong industrial hub. Buhari is just copying him. How can you then form an alliance with your oppressor to fight and free yourself from him? You guys from the so-called south south always suffer from this problem! You always think that easterners pick on the northerners or Yorubas for fun or because igbos feel marginalised. That mindset makes it difficult for you guys to realize the enermous nature of the heist being perpetrated by these groups on former eastern Nigerias oil resources..

If you're from the south east and you are reading this, bros, get ready for the real battle! Everything must be done to stop the evil collaboration at the federal level that intends to ruin the south east! I won't try to sound politically correct here! I will be blunt; it will be a tragedy of unbelievable proportion if we allow those who looted the whole oil resources of our land and used that to biuld up their cities to once again steal our gas resources! The SE needs that gas to start off post Nigeria. At the moment, the federal government under one Buhari is biulding a gas pipeline to Niger republic while there are no federal government biult gas pipeline connecting the industrial clusters in the south east! Essentially, the federal government of nigeria is developing the gas capabilities of Niger republic with gas lifted from the heart of igboland! That won't fly..

The gas pipeline to Niger republic starts from the Assa gas fields in Imo and Abia states with the pipes running through kogi to Abuja then Kaduna and Kano before heading to Buharis maternal home, Niger republic! Along the line, there will be gas powered power stations at Abuja and Kaduna and Kano, all having the capacity to produce over 3000 mw of power at completion! None was built in the whole Southeast from where the gas will be lifted! No attempt was made to connect the industrial cities of the east like Aba, nnewi or Onitsha to gas lifted in their backyard! Apart from the mediocre shell gas projects at Aba, there has never been any federal government gas initiative on the scale of the type we see at Otta, ogun state or the one in progress in Kaduna. Allowing folks who work against the economic growth of the east with resources from the same east to do a second round of plundering should be unthinkable! This present generation of Igbos must do everything humanly possible to stop this taunts once and for all...
