Why are Tinupoos internet hoodlums wailing on this thread? Is there anything they know that we don't know? I thought they have Buhari in the bag? Starting to look like the team of the "wailers" will increase exponentially in the coming weeks..

It helped northerners to take stronger hold of certain sections of national trade through cross border smuggling from the north.. Stuffs like foreign rice and cars and other essentials can easily be smuggled from Benin Republic and Niger republic into northern Nigeria for half of the costs of doing so down South..

Obasanjo did a lot for Nigeria, he never divided Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines, he was a president for all and sundry, the reason nobody agitated for restructuring under him.

The same cannot be said about this government that keeps dividing Nigeria everyday.

Both the East and the West are into it for their gains. That's given. Nothing is for free in international relations, nations are fighting for their interests. What's different from the way the two power blocs relate to the continent, is the tendency on the part of the western world to foist brutal dictators on African countries and use their beastial force to corner different lucrative sectors of the African economy, while The Chinese and The Russians will prefer to atleast negotiate with different African states in ways that help the continent earn more from her resources if the respective leaders of these countries do the right thing. This is very vital in a world where smaller countries need to have the support as cover of powerful countries to develop unhindered.... One power bloc believes that you can't control your resources and that her multi nationals can always dictate the terms, while the other believes you actually can have a say and is only willing to reach agreements with you, without employing military force...

It's also important to note that Russia and China have not been caught killing African Heads of States for fun. It was not the Russians or The Chinese that killed Lumumba, Sankara, Biko, Fanon, Nkrumah, Tourre, etc.. It was not The Chinese or The Russians that instigated The Rwandan genocide, The Congo genocide, neither were they the ones that supported and funded the Biafran genocide, it wasn't them that supported apartheid in South Africa and made illiterates like Bokassa, Mobutu and Campaore presidents over their countries. The West that Africans support and adore all day did all these. Yet it's The Russians and The Chinese that we fear. I can see bridges and train lines and airports built almost for free by The Chinese. As far as he's concerned, the South East and the South South are inconsequential. To him and Buhari, this country can be ruled eternally between the South West and the core North. Abiola thought the same. We saw how that went went with his idea.. That's how treacherously myopic they are..

There's no need to remind anyone about what has been going on in the polity as the election gets closer by the day. A lot of aspirants in APC and PDP have made their intentions known about clinching the much coveted tickets of their parties. Some pf the aspirant are the likes of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Osinbanji, Peter Obi, Atiku, Amaechi, Wike and a couple of other people. But I'm very interested in who takes the APC ticket and I'm sure people are keen to know who between Tinubu and osinbanjo will get it because of the history that these two men have together.

It's one thing to be a master strategist like Tinubu and it's another thing to have the money to strategize. Tinubu has both and we can alrready see the miracle that he's working underground in the way some prominent Nigerians are lining up behind him. Just today, the Olu of Warri made it clear to whoever wants to listen that Tinubu is the most qualified person to preside over the affairs of the country. This is shocking because traditional rulers always try to be apolitical as much as possible. For instance, I'm not sure I've ever heard the Ooni of Ife, Oba of Benin or the Emir of Kano take sides that the Olu of Warri has done. It just means one thing; that a lot of water has passed under the bridge.

As for Osinbanjo, he doesn't have the political strategy, the money or the political connections of Tinubu and he comes across as someone that doesn't want to ruffle feathers especially not that of his principle, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who he served as Attorney General of Lagos and who many people say made him vice president. So, for him to boldly come out to declare for president, it means someone very powerful is pushing him and that person may just be the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari.

That's why I fear for Tinubu's ambition because despite having in edge over Osinbanjo, if truly Buhari is standing by Osinbanjo, then I think the ticket is as good as Osinbanjo's.

But let's see what the next few months will bring.

I seriously believe that the president is indirectly encouraging almost all his Southern Ministers to run, basically to have them arrive the convention ground like warring parties. Lots of southern presidential aspirants from The APC will dissipate their energies and votes fighting each other, thereby making it easier for a Northern Presidential candidate with Buharis support to triumph easily..

Buharis candidate in this elections is a northerner. It may sound unbelievable. It may cause chaos. It will cost lives. But a Buhari beholden to basic ethnic pulls, will do what he thinks anyways..

They are also desperate to loot the oil resources of the former Eastern Nigeria just like the north! So where is the common ground as "southerners".

The South West got us all into this mess because of their unending desperation to hyjack everything that is deu the South. They couldn't stand Jonathan and have to use their media and treacherous politics to unravel his administration. They will do so again if the opportunity arises. The best alternative for the former Eastern Nigeria is to approach the emerging political war as a unit and only use the South West as allies when convenient! Discard them like tissue papers as quick as you are done with them because their vaulting political ambitions will always encourage them to attack you from behind at your weakest moments..

But as at that time, his home which was close the primary school, was the only non-mud standard one storey building in the whole local government! Others were mud houses! He didn't even finish the house as he lived most time at Kano GRA.The only modern houses there were maybe the Post office, the corpers lodge, the hospital and the local government secratariate. Even the rich alhaji that owned the the corpers lodge was living in mud house. And upstair, mud-house!
