Love is great but I'd choose money & sex over it
Ibkayee, are you doing good?... So yeah, ALL the 3 aspects of money, love and sex in that seqeunce are very important. I will NEVER follow the idea of choosing only 2 out of the 3 aspects or variables as a man because it means settling for LESS... and this is a limiting belief! In any event, TRUE LOVE (or commitment) in a romantic relationship, first evolves from self-awareness and self-love (or acceptance). There's more top secrets here... Second, with TRUE LOVE comes an intensely powerful series of mind-blowing sex... now with me, "Sex is a normal pattern in nature without which our species would be extinct." Without TRUE LOVE, sex becomes only a mechanical thing and majorly women become mere sex objects leading right up to resentment and divorce within 5-7 years of legally taking the marriage vows! Third, oh... I love this part grin, sustainable cashflow/inflow of money smoothens things up and enables a man to spoil his female lover with spontaneity and vice versa. I came back on NL today Ibk after nearly a week off, stumbled upon this thread, and contributed only because I saw your posts here. Surely money and sex alone won't suffice in a worse case real-world scenario, or you will set up yourself for a major fatal fall! You take care Ibk (omoge t'o cute). Ciao! wink P.S. I sent a quick PM to you last week (on the day the breaking news about the adoption by the UK of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine broke), so let me have a feedback.

Romance / Re: Signs That Your Long Distance Relationship Is Fading by RuggedSniper: 5:37pm On Dec 06, 2020
simdam500:
It is not easy to maintain a long distance relationship. But if you have one, you must take care to keep it alive, for over a long period of time, a long distance relationship might not work. How would you know if your long distance online relationship is fading? There are certain signs you should look out for. The major

1. You communicate less
You have begun to communicate lesser and lesser. You do not find talking to him amazing anymore and the magic has reduced. Also, you do not look forward to talking to him again sooner. The initial excitement has faded and you now are looking towards moving on. It is a sign that the relationship is now fading.

2. He takes time to reply to your messages
You have sent him a message but he is taking ages to reply. If it is once in a while, the reason could be genuine. But if it becomes habitual, remember that he does not consider you crucial in his life anymore and it is a sure sign that your long distance relationship is now fading. You may also find that you do not want to be connected to him round the clock any longer.

3. He cannot find time for you readily anymore
Earlier, he was readily available to talk to you over the phone or have a video chat when you wanted. But it now seems that he is finding it more and more difficult to find time for you. The reason could be genuine, but if he really loves you, he will definitely find a way to be able to talk to you. But if it seems that he is putting no effort to be available for you, it could be a sign of a fading relationship.

4. He is acting aloof
If his behavior has become cold recently and he seems to be acting more like a stranger, it could be a sign that he is seeing someone else. If he is acting aloof, you might consider rethinking the relationship as it could be on the verge of breaking up.

5. Neither of you is ready to compromise
In case of a long distance relationship, it is essential that both visit each other sometimes. But if you have discovered that for the last few days, he does not find time to be able to visit and you and/or you do not want to spend a nice holiday or weekend to go and visit him, it is a sign that the relationship is not working anymore.

6. He talks to you only when he is alone
If you find that your long distance boyfriend talks to you only when he is alone, he could be hiding you from his friends and family and the reason behind it could be that he is no longer considering you as his future life partner. It is a sure sign that the relationship is fading.

7. He picks up fights with you easily and more often than before.... Means he's becoming bored and irritated with you

8. Doesn't pick or returns your calls and gives only frivolous reasons for behaving that way ...... Same as above but in addition is not totally sure of what to do (leave or stay)

9. Doesn't play heartily like before ....... (you are less appealing to him now than ever before)

More to come as I recall!
This list above is tame for those who know... Money for weekly/monthly/quarterly air travels, commitment, and the use of real time advanced ICT tools such as Zoom, and daily video calls will elevate any LDR to the stratospheres. If you know, you know. grin

Sunnybobo3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYFXsoMbVAE

Umaru Yar’Adua’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe, got more than he bargained for in New York today on his latest ministerial junket allegedly to discuss the inclusion of Nigeria in the list of nations in involved in terrorism. The Minister who spent N2.7 billion on foreign travels last year alone, arrived in New York York accompanied by the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign affairs, Umar Bature. Maduekwe’s misery started upon arrival in New York as the US State Department refused to meet with him. Saharareporters had reported yesterday about a trip to Nigeria by Mr. Johnny Carson of the department to meet with Goodluck Jonathan, in view of Yar’Adua’s prolonged absence from office, the nation’s disappearance from international reckoning, as well as her increasing religious crises and the uprising in the Niger Delta region.

Mr. Maduekwe had banked on meeting with the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban ki-Moon, a meeting he hoped would open the door to the presence of Ms. Susan Rice, the US Permanent representative at the United Nations.  But all those hopes and permutations collapsed, as Mr. Maduekwe ought to have known in Abuja, as  the US was in a mood to meet the Foreign Minister of a country whose president had disappeared for two months.

Only yesterday, Mr. Maduekwe admitted what was worse the BBC program Hard Talk.  He told the presenter he had not spoken to Yar’Adua since he left Nigeria on November 23 2009, and could not explain where he was getting his instructions.

That embarrassing experience meant that Maduekwe embarked on his US trip determined to turn up a semblance of success, turning to the Nigerian diplomatic staff in New York to get him a top-level appointment at all cost.  Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Professor Joy Ogwu, was at Maduekwe’s Millennium Plaza Hotel this morning, but apparently did not have good news for her boss.

In order to ensure that some report went to the Ministry of Information in Abuja for rebranding and propaganda purposes, and to the Nigeria Television Authority for “news” that he had been hard at work in the United States, Mr. Maduekwe directed the diplomats to organize an emergency press conference for him at the UN.  The UN Journal for Friday, 22 January lists no press conference for Nigeria or Mr. Maduekwe.

But Mr. Maduekwe, who could have chosen to speak to the “Enough Is Enough” rally being held by Nigerians in front of Nigeria House on the other side of the same city block, decided to hold a conference, any conference.

When Saharareporters got wind of it and tried to attend the conference, we were told that no conference was listed for Nigeria in the building. Through persistent investigation we found out the “secret” conference, where he had set up shop trying to bamboozle a few journalists about the “progress” being made in Nigeria and puffing arrogantly about his credentials as a capable hand in the vision of “Mr. President”.

AIM Group only established Cool fm years later in PH and Abuja. NOTE: I agree with you that the hip Cool fm shouldn't have been set up in Kano because the state is growing fast in modernity, but relatively conservative, and it is their prerogative because of culture/religion. Carl Noujaim, the Lebanese-Nigerian boss of Cool fm and son-in-law of the AIM Group chairman and founder, grew up in Kano (before moving to Lagos and France for further studies) and speaks fluent Hausa. This "may" have been responsible for Kano Cool fm/Arewa fm being established in Kano aside from the fact that the state is the biggest commercial capital in the north of Nigeria, and second to Lagos. Hope this helps.

Politics / Re: Oil Slump Threatens Easy Life Of Affluent Norwegians by RuggedSniper: 10:50pm On Nov 27, 2020
atlwireles:
STAVANGER, Norway (AP) — Losing his job on a Norwegian oil rig meant more to Kristoffer Sandberg than saying goodbye to a high salary. It has caused a shift down in lifestyle and expectations, something an increasing number of people in this small oil-rich country are facing.

After a decade of an oil and gas boom, plunging energy prices are shaking the Norwegians out of a Utopian reverie that guaranteed workers lengthy summer vacations, generous health and social benefits and allowed them to leave work at 4 p.m. and even earlier on Fridays.

Some of the helicopters that transport workers from Stavanger — the epicenter of the oil industry — to the platforms on the North Sea have fallen silent. Already 10,000 workers have been laid off. It's the start of what economists are predicting will be a long recession in the energy industry, which accounts for 15 percent of the economy, more than half of exports and 80 percent of the state's income.

The Nordic country is being forced to contemplate a future without the certainties of the past.

"I know that people are envious of these conditions elsewhere in the world. We joke about it sometimes," says Sandberg, a 24-year-old mechanic. "But I don't know how many more people will lose their jobs or how much longer it will be uncertain like this."

Sandberg is selling his new S-Class Mercedes and moving to Singapore to help oversee the construction of a new giant oil rig, in the hope of retaining even a bit of his old lifestyle. But he'll have to work longer hours and won't be rewarded with the four week breaks for every two weeks of labor enjoyed by offshore workers here.

Sandberg still feels being born in Norway was like winning the lottery but agrees that the regular, annual ratcheting up of wages was unsustainable.

Last year, the state-run oil and gas company Statoil revealed it paid an average annual salary of 1 million kroner ($130,000) to its 23,000 employees.

Knut Sunde, director of industrial policy at the employers' organization Norsk Industri, says the shake-up for Norwegian workers used to the rewards will be painful, but welcomes the reality check.

"The average Norwegian has just gotten too much. We have a welfare economy and an expectation from youth who expect wealth to come down from heaven," Sunde said. "When we come down to periods like this it comes down to good old values of working hard and competing. A country like Norway needs to go through that."

The barrel price of Brent crude, an international variety of oil, has tumbled from a steady three-year average of around $110 to below $60. At that price more than half the offshore fields being developed along the Norwegian continental shelf are uneconomical.

Rig owners, used to renting their fleets of steel behemoths to eager drillers for more than $400,000 a day, are about to release a glut of speculatively built new models even as the explorers are losing their pioneering spirit. Rigs are idling in west coast ports. More layoffs are expected as companies like Statoil prepare to cut back on spending.

The energy sector's dominance in the Norwegian economy means its troubles will cast a pall over the wider economy. The layoffs will likely hurt the restaurant and hotel sector, for example, as fewer business trips are made throughout the country.

One big positive is that the country saved up a massive $860 billion from oil exports during the good years to protect it against having to make sharp and traumatic cuts to welfare spending. By law, the government is not allowed to spend more than four percent of that money annually, and in practice uses up only the interest.

So for those Norwegians left with jobs, there is no imminent end to the welfare perks like five weeks of annual paid holiday, the highest sickness benefits in the world and shorter working hours than elsewhere.

Rather, it is a question of whether future generations will suffer a shift down in living standards.

Hilde Opoku, the spokesperson for the Green Party, says Norwegians are still blind to the coming change.

"It won't happen overnight, but when we wake up from this oil bubble, we will realize we will never have a fairytale like this again."

Politics / Re: All Norwegians Become Crown Millionaires In Oil Saving Landmark - Reuters by RuggedSniper: 10:27pm On Nov 27, 2020
EagleNest:
OSLO (Reuters) - Everyone in Norway became a theoretical crown millionaire on Wednesday in a milestone for the world's biggest sovereign wealth fund that has ballooned thanks to high oil and gas prices.

Set up in 1990, the fund owns around 1 percent of the world's stocks, as well as bonds and real estate from London to Boston, making the Nordic nation an exception when others are struggling under a mountain of debts.

A preliminary counter on the website of the central bank, which manages the fund, rose to 5.11 trillion crowns ($828.66 billion), fractionally more than a million times Norway's most recent official population estimate of 5,096,300.

It was the first time it reached the equivalent of a million crowns each, central bank spokesman Thomas Sevang said.

Not that Norwegians will be able to access or spend the money, squirreled away for a rainy day for them and future generations. Norway has resisted the temptation to splurge all the windfall since striking oil in the North Sea in 1969.

Finance Minister Siv Jensen told Reuters the fund, called the Government Pension Fund Global, had helped iron out big, unpredictable swings in oil and gas prices. Norway is the world's number seven oil exporter.

"Many countries have found that temporary large revenues from natural resource exploitation produce relatively short-lived booms that are followed by difficult adjustments," she said in an email.

The fund, equivalent to 183 percent of 2013 gross domestic product, is expected to peak at 220 percent around 2030.

"The fund is a success in the sense that parliament has managed to put aside money for the future. There are many examples of countries that have mot managed that," said Oeystein Doerum, chief economist at DNB Markets.

Norway has sought to avoid the boom and bust cycle by investing the cash abroad, rather than at home. Governments can spend 4 percent of the fund in Norway each year, slightly more than the annual return on investment.

Still, in Norway, oil wealth may have made the state reluctant to make reforms or cut subsidies unthinkable elsewhere. Farm subsidies allow farmers, for instance, to keep dairy cows in heated barns in the Arctic.

It may also have made some Norwegians reluctant to work. "One in five people of working age receives some kind of social insurance instead of working," Doerum said, despite an official unemployment rate of 3.3 percent.

(Reporting by Alister Doyle; Editing by Alison Williams)

Nigeria started producing and exporting crude oil almost a decade before Norway started and here we are, every Norwegian is a millionaire in Norwegian currency while Nigerians doesn't know their left from their right. Does it mean that Socialism is slightly better than capitalism because capitalism seems to be failing America. Or is it because America spends fortune in fanning and settling troubles in other countries and spend alot generally. No need of mentioning Nigeria because ours is a serious paradox

bdchange:
Hmmmm.. I just had to breathe in very well before posting this.

Now this is the story from a colleague of mine some few years back.

This girl just resumed work in the company where I worked. Beautiful and an average height. She caught the attention of my other colleague who happens to be a player (i.e womanizing is his hobby). There is no day this girl won't receive calls from her bf and they will talk for several minutes. We were like who the hell calls like that. She told us it was her bf that stays in PH (Port-Harcourt) while she just moved to Lagos to stay with her uncle. We later learnt the guy sends 5k to her every months.

To cut the story short, my colleague starts bleeping her even to the extent that when the bf calls her sometimes she might be with that my guy and they will be in the middle of having s***x.

The problem I have with this lady is that, first she knows this my guy is a player and secondly while suffering the poor boy and yet he was still sending money to her. Why not tell him since you are now distance apart let break up and go our separate ways.

Since then I vow never to do anything distance relationship. I have some other ones but no time to share it. So please stay clear of long distance relationship if you like your self. simple as that grin
Long-distance relationships are NOT entirely bad with STRATEGIC inner game and positioning. Even short-distance relationships are NOT full-proof without STRATEGY!grin

Na like civil service, the least efficient bank among the FUGAZ is first bank, UBA GTB, Access and Zenith. These are the 5 biggest banks in the country, they control over 65% of the market.

First Bank has the highest staff cost in the industry, it stands at N100 billion per annum, whereas GTB has less than N45 billion, Zenith , Access and UBA have an average of N50 billion as staff cost.

Zenith made profit after tax of over N200 billion, GTB made N185 billion, UBA and Access made about N90 billion, whereas First Bank struggled to make N60 billion.

The N100 billion used as staff expenses could only generate a profit after tax of N60 billion, compared to N45 billion spent by GTB to generate a profit after tax of N185 billion.

I won't advise you to take a longer term position on First Bank. My opinion though.

Imagine First Bank gave an unsecured loan of $400 million to Omokre one of the boys of Deziane former minister of petroleum and the loan went bad.

Heloct:
I opened this thread because I made the same mistake again!

It's actually a sad thing to regret the things you said or typed while in a different mood or a little over yourself.

In a bid to sound different or funny, we often resort to words that we don't mean or feel. Even here on Nairaland, in a thirst for likes and attention, we become savages we can't entertain.

These past few days, we've seen how false(not intended to be) allegations destroyed lives and careers.

We want to be the first to laugh at that person making a mistake. We want to be there to video persons going through their down moments. We've forgotten how to care and we've chosen to be blunt.

You hear some people say 'I'm a blunt person. I say it like it is'. This isn't entirely bad but we should know that our words go a long way. Trust me, you don't want to be the reason why someone gave up

I'm writing this because I've been a perpetrator of saying/typing words I don't mean. They might not be as heavy as I'm making them but I'm really repentant. I hope this teaches someone to be kinder with their words and to serve as a subtle reminder for me.
Cute words...wink

"Cherry! Cherry!!" Broda yelled from the verandah.

"I dey come!" I quickly adjusted my hair and skirt and dashed outside.

Sitting next to Broda was a very dark, potbellied man. His cheeks were so puffy that you'd think he had three or four akara balls stuffed in his mouth. His lips were thick and black like he kissed charcoal. I concluded he looked like an ape. I shifted my gaze from him as his eyes met mine.

"Welcome Sir" I curtsied to the Ape. " Broda you called me."

Broda cleared his throat and turned to the ugly man. "Na my younger sister be this. Her name na Cherry."

The Ape smiled and licked his lips as he scanned me with his small eyes from head to toe. He looked satisfied with what he saw. I was disgusted.

" Oh what a beautiful girl! But I no go lie you, that name too hard for my mouth o!" He laughed like a fool.

" No worry about that one." Broda chuckled. "When you marry am, you fit call her any name you want."

"Ehen! Now you are talking my in-law! I go call am Nne because she resemble..."

"No...No" Broda interrupted. " We don't do things like that in my family, she is not yet your wife and I am not your in-law until you pay her bride price. Simple."

"You are very correct my brother. I go do everything and even more than to marry this girl. I am a very serious man, I am not like all those useless small boys. I am a full man"

"Foolish man." I hissed under my breath.

"Very good. I don't want any yaga yaga person to be my sister's husband." Broda signaled at me to turn by circling his index finger.

I blushed and played with the hem of my skirt as I turned around quickly.

The Ape gripped his manhood through his trousers and laughed out loud.

"Don't mind her, She is a shy girl. You know how all these virgins dey behave."

"Ah! I like am like that o! I no like all this rough girls wey their eye son tear reach yanshh"

" My sister na good girl. She dey very discipline. She never know man at all." Broda assured the Ape which made him break into a smile that his lips almost touch both ears.

" Enter house. " Broda said to me.

I curtsied again and went in.

**********************####################

Broda came into the room about an hour later .

"We have discussed the arrangements for your introduction. He is a man of his words and I believe everything will go as planned."

"Hmm... I pray so." I laid on the mattress and closed my eyes.

" The man fine sha!" He teased and I threw a pillow at him.

He pounced on me and kissed me. We had a play fight then he stood up from the flat mattress.

"Remove your clothes." Broda said as he pulled off his shirt and zipped down his shorts.

I did as he said and he pounced on me as he humped away into the night.
You have a good writing flow.

I know he would have spent the money but he will never use any bank accounts as long as he lives in Nigeria once his BVN is flagged. He will be the one chasing you up and down begging to give you your money. Screengrab the Whatsapp group history and evidence of your removal, it's enough evidence. Involve EFCC as well, he will regret it. Also, Google the account name you sent money to. Google the phone number and his e-mail address if you have it. Google will link you to his social media pages and if not, search for the name on Instagram, Facebook, etc. If you find him on any social media platform, check his friends and connections, you will find his relatives there. Start reporting him to them. There are 1001 ways to deal with a criminal. If you have his picture, put it on Google image search, it will link you up to all his faces anywhere on social media.
Awesome... Thanks for sharing!

If you know this, he's very easy to track down and he will forever regret his actions. Just visit your bank u used to transfer money to him with the evidence of payment and business deal to file a report on him. Also send another report to EFCC with details.
While your bank will flag his BVN for scam, he will be the meat for EFCC.
Politics / Re: FLASHBACK. When CNN Fired Their Reporter For Fake News Against Nigeria. by RuggedSniper: 5:37am On Nov 26, 2020
NGpatriot:
CNN is a hard learner, their plot against Nigeria failed before and it's destined to fail again.

They once paid militants in the Delta to stage fake stories against Nigeria, but when exposed, they quickly sacked the reporter in shame and embarrassment, Jeff was the scape goat for their shady and evil plan against Nigeria.

Sadly, they found willing tools and unpatriotic Nigerians to use directly to further their evil assault against Nigeria

Shortly after the Lekki toll gate incident, CNN rushed to the social media to lie and claim that Nigeria killed 38 Nigerians without any proof or credible investigation, something they won't their do in their country where journalistic standard and integrity is a must, but in Africa, they don't have to show any proof to justify their lies and jaundice journalism.

Now to save face after their 38 unproven deaths fiasco, they are releasing irrelevant videos still with zero proof of anything, just conjectures, innuendos and den say den say journalism.

At the end of the day when it's all said and done, they'll account for their lies and tender their usual apologies.

I use it mainly for charging my phone and tabs and DC fan and I have 24hours eletricity.
I don't use any other garget like tv dstv with this gadget.

Pros:
Subscribers can use plug their existing AC appliances that is not more than 60W (LED TVs, Fans, Laptops, Phone chargers, etc.)
Convenient to pay your bills, tagging the subscription to the subscriber’s phone number for payment through airtime.

Cons:
Limited power supply: 60W is too small to power some new high watts sound system.
IT is not really for the poor. How many poor people can recharge 200naira per day and not to talk of paying for just 60W electricity supply?

Where to get Mobile Electricity System
To sign up visit any local MTN store with your MTN SIM card registered in your name, a valid ID card and the names/details of two guarantors.

Technology Market / Re: Cheapest Wind Turbine That Can Power An Entire House For The Cost Of An Iphone by RuggedSniper: 4:02am On Nov 26, 2020
Oladipos:

For the cost of an iPhone, you can now buy a wind turbine that can power an entire house for lifetime

Indian startup Avant Garde Innovations has developed a low-cost wind turbine that can generate 3-5 kW hours of electricity daily.

Soon after assuming office, Kerala (southern state of India) Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan kicked up a storm by publicly supporting the Athirappilly hydro electric project, which environmentalists said, if implemented, would create ecologic imbalance in the area and destroy the Athirappilly waterfalls, the largest natural waterfalls in the state.

It is not that the government is oblivious to the impact that the project could make, but it says it has no option but to leverage existing means to check the growing power crisis in Kerala, which partially depends on the private sector for electricity.

Things are no different in other states either. While Kerala has attained almost 100 per cent electrical coverage, many parts of India still remain in the dark. For a large portion of the Indian population, electricity to this day remains a distant dream.

Enter two siblings who want to make India’s energy crisis a thing of the past. The duo has developed a new solution they say will not even slightly impact the ecological balance.

Avant Garde Innovations, the startup founded by siblings Arun and Anoop George from Kerala, has come up with a low-cost wind turbine that can generate enough electricity to power an entire house for a lifetime. The size of a ceiling fan, this wind turbine can generate 5 kWh/kW per day — with just a one-time cost of US$750.

“Our goal is to eliminate energy poverty, reduce dependence on struggling state power grids and create energy self sufficiency for all the needy ones through distributed, localised and affordable renewable energy. In doing so, we believe we can collectively usher in our world a cleaner environment, new economic prosperity and social change,” reads the company ‘What We Do’ statement.

“Our first offering is a highly affordable small wind turbine suitable for residential, commercial, agricultural, village electrification and other uses, which is aimed for a market launch during 2016.”

Incorporated in 2015, Avant Garde claims to be a startup with a ‘green’ heart and soul.

For the startup, opportunity is massive. India is the world’s sixth largest energy consumer, accounting for 3.4 per cent of global energy consumption. Federal governments in India, and the central government for that matter, are unable to bear the huge infrastructural cost required to bring electricity to remote villages.

Erecting electric posts and electric lines require huge investments that could cost millions of dollars.

This is where Avant Garde comes into picture. “When small wind turbine generating 1kW energy costs INR 3-7 lakh (US$4,000-10,000), our company plans to sell it at less than NR 50,000 (about US$750). Costs will decrease further through mass production,” Arun said in an interview to The Times of India.

The company launched its pilot project at a church in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram in January this year. The small wind turbine prototype that it has developed is highly scalable for power capacities of 300 kW or even higher, Arun told e27.

“Our passionate aim is to introduce innovative, affordable and sustainable solutions that take renewable energy self sufficiency and energy empowerment to the next level through a distributed and decentralised approach using pioneering strategies the world has not witnessed yet,” the company says.

This revolutionary product has also won them a spot in the Top 20 Cleantech Innovations in India. The company has also made it to the list of 10 clean energy companies from India for the “UN Sustainable Energy For All” initiative under the one billion dollar clean energy investment opportunity directory.

According to the Global Wind Energy Council, the country ranks 4th in terms of global installed wind power capacity, after China, the US, and Germany.

Maybe, if Avant Garde Innovations takes off, Kerala can keep the Athirappilly waterfalls untouched.
